Okay Bethsidian, I am impressed. : Fallout: New Vegas

I'm really excited about the country station. I hate modern country but I LOVE OLD COUNTRY. I love Gene Autry, Marty Robbins, Roy Rodgers, Hank Williams, etc. Marty Robbin's Gunfighter Ballads And Trail Songs changed my life. But I also hope they have some Gene Autry music; "Don't Fence Me In", "Back In The Saddle"

They better have somebody playing "Ghost Riders In The Sky" somewhere too.

I think they will do a good job on the country station can't wait to listen, I'm not giving up hope on a rock station either. They said three MAIN stations. Agatha's station wasn't exactly MAIN so I'm still hoping.

are you saying that Bethesda is involved with in game music and in game dialogue or am I reading this wrong.

Jason Bergman, a Bethesda Senior Producer, who is the project liason to Obsidian is working directly on the title. He handled all the VO and from the comments that he has made on the blogs and stuff, it sounds like he's handling the music. I'm pretty sure it's the publisher of the game that has to license the music, not the developer anyways.

The music was great. It's gotten even better than Fallout 3's, which Obsidian seems to doing on every front. Not to bash Bethesda though. They created an excellent basis for Obsidian to work off of. Obsidian seems to really excel when they have something to work off of.

You know, Fallout 3 gets a lot of flack for not being Van Buren, but to be honest I liked it the best of the fallout games made so far. This isn't to knock on 1&2 or even the lowly Fallout BoS (I've never played tactics). They're great games (or good-ish in the case of BoS. I recognize that I hold it in higher esteem than I should because of my love for real-time dungeon crawlers). Here's hoping New Vegas outshines them all.

Well, I think Obsidian basically have the perfect remedy for success. I've never played the originals, but think about it. Fallout 3's awesome game engine, combined with Obsidian's writing and general expertise on what is Fallout, will make what is surely the best game yet.
I'm looking forward to experiencing the Fallout that so many people on these forums have talked about in the originals. Not necessarily saying that Bethesda was off the mark, just saying that Obsidian story-wise, writing-wise and atmosphere-wise should be the experts when it comes to Fallout, having made the originals.

I was involved for the licensed stuff, but not at all for the original score. That was all Obsidian and Inon. I just paid the bills.

Nah, I just mean that they both are working together. Im assuming Beth is purely a publisher/pr role. But either way, it's a joint project since they are working together.

For the most part though its Obsidians game.

Well, I may be looking at it from a Modern country music role. I dont know much about ancient country music. If its like that slow western bars you see in desert themed movie, I MIGHT be willing to give it a try.

I'm not the biggest fan of country but I have a very open mind and I like western music a lot. But I'm more of a fan of rock and it's sub genres (rockabilly, surf etc) and BIG BAND SWING
