Preparing for Nuclear War

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 11:51 am

So with repeated reports about the situation in Korea indicating that the north may very well have the ability to nuke us (more like U.S amirite?) there is a question that needs to be answered:

Are you using Fallout:New Vegas the way it was intended?

I think when it happens I have determined my alignment will be Good, Though I will have a small stealing problem and I'll finally be able to be good at SCIENCE!. Sadly there aren't any guns in the U.K so I'll probably Melee my way around and just hang out at the post apocalyptic clubs a lot.

I'm hoarding all the bottle caps I can find and currently ducking and covering everytime a plane flies overhead and I suggest you do the same.

North Korea, if they even have nuclear weapons (which I doubt), would lack the arsenal to do damage to the United States thanks to Defense systems.

But, this is political. And yes, I am using Fallout the way it was intended as an entertainment product.

I've started sleeping in the bath 'cause we all know that's the household item most likely to survive and I've been around town stocking some garbage cans with cigarettes. You're right about the UK gun laws, very short sighted of them, I'm building a workbench and downloading some blueprints from the net, combined with my collection of teddy bears I think I should be ok.

I've also started wandering the local bars talking to all the women I find drinking whiskey. This part is not going so well but since Veronica popped out of nowhere in the game I'm expecting her, or maybe Felicia, to turn up any day.

Good idea to sleep in the bath it's right next to the toilet so you have a constant water supply. I started drinking toilet water yesterday to prepare myself and I'm not going anywhere near London just because you KNOW that will be a mirelurk haven not to mention all the pigeons.

Good Tinned food and water are hard to get at the best of times in the UK though I'm saving up for a purifier

I tried sleeping in the fridge, unfortunately I died. Thank the FSM for auto-saves. I'm currently filling the fridge with snow-balls and I've found some old party hats. Heh, some raider comes to the door I'm guessing they'll have so much fun with a party hat and snow-ball fight they might just not get around to shooting me :)

I was thinking about stocking up on bottled water but I think the chemicals that leach from the plastic are probably more harmful than the radiation. What do you reckon?

Oh, coming home from last nights whiskey woman hunt I'm sure I banged my head on an invisible wall. If I can remember where it was I'll bring it home to hide behind. Do you think kebabs are made from strange meat?

Fun fact:

Korea's bombs can barely make it to Japan; They are horrible.

Besides, Korea's an attention getter. No ones going to fight each other.

1. Yes the chemicals are harmful but your not exactly in post apocalyptic buckingham palace now are you ? (Already raided it)

2.Kebabs have always been made of strange meat and when the nukes hit they may be the only source of protein untinned that survives.

I've been hoarding bottle caps since the FO3 days. I've also been scoping out several 4 to 5 story hotel like buildings in the area. At least one of them should survive. When the bombs hit, I should have more than enough caps to hire a nice sized merc/security force, move into the least damaged hotel, and then charge the remaining idle rich to live there.

i look forward to raiding your penthouse floor with my ghoul army.but on another note..if nk were to attempt to nuke any country in the world you can prettymuch say were all safe...their ICBM's are more like fatmans so if youre more than 30meters away youll be fine

Hehehe this is fun. :)

But I really don't think we are on the brink of a real Nuclear War in Korea - China will not allow that to happen (more than anything else).

But if it did happen, I would find one of the new horse communities that will sprout up everywhere and help defend that (and Yes Obsidian, Horses WILL be around).

You can't have a horse because then life would be copying Oblivion.

US doesn't have a defense....The fallout from the missile blowing if you consider those aegis missiles a defense would kill pretty much everything in a 5-20 miles instantly and if you were looking that way your eyes would melt do to how bright and how hot it is....

The USA never had a defense other than the phrase "You nuke us we nuke you..."

I think it is the south koreans you need to worry about they are geared for war at this point, they really don't want peace they want another 'provocation' from the north so they can retaliate in full force.

I wonder if Coke is in the planning phase of a drink that glows in the dark yet?

Nuclear war....ooooooo great salisbury steak for everyone.....fantastic....

Good thing I dug that big hole and put a ham radio in it last summer. Now someone can find my skeleton and my bobble head in a couple hundred years.

Actually, the US has been developing weapons designed to shoot down missiles. They may not save us from the fallout, but it will keep the warheads from detonating at it's intended target.

I started collecting bottle caps, but frankly it's getting heavy once you have more than 1000 of those things on you.

Bottle caps weigh nothing!

Anyway, I'm trying to plan a raid for the early hours. There is a castle at the end of my street, really is, do I sneak in and hunt for weapons or should I raid the the local Chinese restaurant for stealth armour?

Been thinking. I live next to three strip bars, two 'massage' parlours and there is a casino at the end of the road, maybe I should just set to work on a Securitron army :)

I couldn't find any Sunset Sarsaparilla so I'm stocking up on Mountain Dew. It's more or less the same thing, right? And do they even make bobby pins anymore? I'm sure they do, old ladies use them and we haven't run out of old ladies yet ...
