Problem with this beta. Spoilers wise.

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 12:11 pm

The people who get chosen for beta really need to keep a tight lid. No spoilers please. Moderators are going to have to be very quick abou this.

I agree. But then again I hope to be a tester.

I wonder how many testers they plan to have...

The beta is only open for US Citizens, and they will probably have to sign a NDA to do it too. If they leak any information, chances are that they will be sued into Oblivion.

It's called respect, something most people are lacking.

Scary.

Do agree with the OP though. And you could trust me, you'd have to kill me before I told you anything about Dawnguard. Hell I won't even tell my friends if I get an invite and get to play it.. cause some of my friends have big mouths.

As far as I know, it's open for international users too, otherwise it wouldn't have let me sign up for it.

Hmm, did anyone get sued after Skyrim was leaked before release?

Yea , there is a NDA...

Believe me, you would have to be more insane than sheogorath to come on the forums and post a spoiler after signing it. I have done beta's before, they wont play around if you breach a legally binding contract with them.

(of course someone will, but that will be the last thing you ever hear from them)

What if someone logged in anonymously or went on a different site and posted spoilers? I really hope Dawnguard doesn't get spoiled.

Exactly.. it's inevitable that's why it requires respect..

People in the beta will have to sign a non-disclosure agreement as with all closed beta's. Nothing new here, people.

the Expansion story/content and spoilers is a huge deal.

They would lose a lot of sales if spoilers get out of hand, and even people who read the spoilers that buy it anyway, miss out on the impact the Expansion would have given them if they didn't read /looked at spoilers beforehand.

I don't know if that NDA would fix much because the damage would already be done.

Expansion spoilers really shouldn't be tolerated. and the problem is more out of hand since different boards have different regulations.

That is my worst fear about reading any forums that have any link to a closed beta; since some usrs just like to spoil aspects of story or the ending to the whole expansion/story.

How many of you actually read the terms of service? I actually skimmed through it.

An NDA won't protect PC or PS3 users. :/

That was done anonymously. When you participate in the beta, you volunteerily give Bethesda enough information for them to identify you.

I read a reasonable amount. Nothing bad in it really that I can remember.

whats to stop a tester from telling a friend verbally and that friend posting it anonymously? how could they tell which tester spilled the beans?

Really? Disappointing for us Canadians if true. I think I'll go dig up some obscure NAFTA clause that says otherwise. :shifty:

It's impossible to stop that. This potentially could be disastrous if a lot of people tell

The Beta will only be given out to people who sign NDA's, Non Disclosure Agreements. Which means if you talk about the game before release, you get sued.

It's really not worth getting worked up over. The situation's no worse than any other closed beta (of which there have been many). Still, having it spoiled would svck.
