So PS3 & 360 players get nothing while PC players get Mo

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 3:52 pm

I play on the PS3 because my pc gives me weird keyboard lag when I try to play online games. :brokencomputer:

So I was pretty much forced to buy it for the PS3.

The downside to this is that I still get glitches, bugs, and things in the game that I plain don't like.

While pc players get to mod their game, add/remove changes, and even get an official creation kit?

While I'm stuck with plain un-modded Skyrim.

It just seems like Bethesda gave pc players the candy stick, while console players got grounded.

Mmmm....

In most games, consoles have stability, while PC's have mod-ability.

Okay, so Skyrim is a bit different, and some consoles lucked out on all counts. I sympathise.

Because 1. Installing a bad mod cannot be fixed as easily as it can on PC and 2. MS hates 3rd parties into their systems for good reason.

M$ and Sony tend to frown on modding.

Sony is more open for 3rd parties but alas due to such Sony has been blamed due to it. Unlike MS who is anol about their network which is completely [censored] in the protection area.

All part of the experience.

Next generation consoles will have more functionality, and I'd imagine this is an issue they could potentially be looking at.

Consoles of this generation don't have the tools to fix issues that Mod's can do to a game, its really not something you want.

Unless you don't mind losing that 500 hour save.

You realise this isn't an online game so you could have bought it for the PC right?

I think it's amazing that you can play this game on consoles.

MODs are for when you get bored of a game.

Over a thousand hours in "Oblivion" and I still haven't done or seen everything so no need to MOD there.

If "Skyrim" has half as much to do that's 500 hours there so keep your MODs and Construction Sets.

They just wreck your game and leave you second guessing the developers instead of actually playing and enjoying the experience.

By the time you get to the end of all "Skyrim" has to offer it will be dirt cheap on the PC and you can buy it and MOD then.

Why is there no official creation kit for the PS3?

Some other games include some sort of "create your own map/mission".

Well we (I am also a ps3 player) will be getting DLC. The rule of thumb has always been, that if you want to mod etc. you get it for the PC.

If such happens be ready to be locked into steam, such networks will appear on next generation consoles including Origin and maybe a few others. Of course their is the issue of MS and Sony wanting part of the money allowing their networks to be utilize in such a way so I would imagine a fee would be included for you to "mod" the game with a agreements rights saying any and all mods you download can break your game and if you happen to do such your SOL

CK is more then a map editor its changing files or removing them altogether.

You know, I'd suspect the tools are there to do this...

But, mod's generally deal with more engrossing features.

Wearing a bucket as a helmet, dragons with Afro's, modifying spells/skills... etc.

Can you imagine how difficult it would be to use a creation kit on the PS3.

I don't think you quite understand what the creation kit is. its not like forge from halo. Its not something the average gamer is going to be able to just pick up and use.

NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

God, I may have to quit gaming entirely... in the 'proper' sense if this does happen.

In which I will be forced to become a PC gamer.

Take from that what you will, but I tend to agree this is a distinct possibility for consoles.

Steam, that is.

God, that felt dirty coming out from my keyboard.

Haha, I actually pity you if that's genuiley how you view mods.

(Also why do you keep writing "mod" in caps?)

agreed..

I can see the ending now: Result in discussion the compatibility of current generation and people flat out denying them because they believe that current generation is as strong as any PC on the market.

@zyg

Origin is already confirmed on Wii U so same and similar networks especially with Beth's current integration with steam is a strong possibility not confirmed but I can see it happening.

No not at all. If it were not for you pitiful console wiennies we would not be in the state we are now in.

I have a deep and abiding hatred for consoles. They are why games have been so crippled and dumbed down. Certainly there are reasons for this but I have watched the rot progress for quite a while now.
