Ahhhh...Dead Nation and Wipeout it is, I guess.I wish they let us pick a free game.

I'm not sure but I believe the devs or publishers had to agree.

The games...svck. I already got inFamous, the other games, not too familiar with. I wish they had games people actually play.

LBP is one of the biggest titles on PS3.

I told my brother the Infamous DL that would take 3 days to download. He thought I was joking.

I am probably just going to go with Wipeout and Dead Nation, they will take me 24 hours to DL in total. Maybe less if I do them at night.

I heard you get the content removed after your playstation plus membership cancels? If this is true, does that mean my free things go away after a month?

I downloaded a 1GB game on a 1.2Mb connection once. It took 8 hours. Infamous is 6.5 GB, it would take days.

That is only for Playstation Plus content. The 2 free games you chose will be with you forever. Or until the end of the internet.

I shouldn't think so, we never needed to with any other game.

Sony said what the "Welcome Back" program will consist of once the PS Store goes back up and I must say that i'm pleased...

"Gamers can select two of the five following PlayStation 3 games: Dead Nation, Infamous, LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust HD, WipeOut HD + Fury. Those with PSPs can also cop two of four following PSP games: LittleBigPlanet PSP ModNation Racers PSP Pursuit Force Killzone Liberation Additionally, the PlayStation faithful can look forward to the following: "A selection of 'On Us' rental movie titles" for use on a single weekend. The weekend in question and the titles available have yet to be determined. Non-PlayStation Plus subscribers get 30 free days of PlayStation Plus. Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers get 60 free days of PlayStation Plus.'

I'm getting Infamous and LBP! Free movies too!

Infamous? Isn't that a good game? What are they doing giving that away for free downloading? :P I'm definitely getting that one. I don't know much about the others, though... other than I personally don't care for LittleBigPlanet. I would have thought games like Trine or the PS1 Final Fantasies to be better free downloads, though.

I was getting it to, until I found out it would take up half my monthly data allowance and around 2-3 days to download. I hope a notice comes up to those who aren't aware of the size of the game when they select it as one of the free games. Something along the lines of "The item you are downloading is massive, are you sure you have nothing better to do for the next three days?"

I know you can pause the download and shut your system off for awhile, and still play some games while it downloads in the background. But I simply don't want to use almost half of the monthly data usage I'm allowed just for a game that's free, that may or may not make me want to go out and get the sequel when it releases in the next 2-3 weeks.

Aaaand finally a Q&A with a bit more information than the North American one.

Spoiler

Q.1 Which countries and regions are you restarting services?

51 countries excluding Japan and Asia (N. America, Central America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Middle East)

Q.2 What was wrong with the system and/or the organizational structure and how did you resolve this issue?

The cause of the breach was a highly sophisticated criminal cyber attack. We are continuing to investigate this criminal intrusion. Our investigation found that the attacker(s) exploited vulnerability in the server system which manages data on PlayStation Network and Qriocity.
Working closely with several outside respected security firms, the company has implemented significant security measures that strengthen safeguards against unauthorized activity, and provide consumers with greater protection of their personal information. The company has made considerable enhancements to the data security, including updating and adding advanced security technologies, additional software monitoring, penetration and vulnerability testing, and increased levels of encryption and additional firewalls. The company also added a variety of other measures to the network infrastructure including an early-warning system for unusual activity patterns that could signal an attempt to compromise the network.

Q.3 Have you encrypted ALL personal data including name, address, birth date, credit card data, password, etc.?

The credit card data was and will of course remain encrypted. We have strengthened the hash level of passwords as well.
See above for additional security measure for the whole system.

Q.4 Are you sure that the personal information stored in the current database won’t be hacked again?

In addition to working closely with several outside respected security firms, the company has made considerable enhancements to the data security, including updating and adding advanced security technologies, additional software monitoring, penetration and vulnerability testing, and increased levels of encryption and additional firewalls. While we’re confident the restored network provides greater protection, the growing sophistication and frequency of cyber attacks by unapologetic, anonymous hackers will continue to be a threat against government, corporations and consumers.
For details about the security measures, please see above.

Q.5 How can users delete their personal information immediately?

They can contact customer service in their region.

Q.6 Are you still on schedule for the full service restoration (within this month)?

The company expects to have the services fully restored by the end of May 2011.

Q.7 Any update on the unauthorized use of credit card/ personal data from the users?

As of today, the major credit card companies have not reported that they have seen any increase in the number of fraudulent credit card transactions as a result of the attack, and they have not reported to us any fraudulent transactions that they believe are a direct result of the illegal attack.

Q.8 I installed the latest system software update but did not receive the system e-mail for changing the password and cannot use my account. Why?

(If you registered a wrong e-mail address or the e-mail of another person) As alerted on our website, the new PS3 software update requires all PS3 users to change their password. Your password can only be changed on your own PS3 (or the PS3 on which your PSN account is activated), as an added layer of security.
If you have never downloaded any content using your account on the console, a system email will be sent to the registered sign-in ID (email address) associated with your account once you first attempt to sign-in to PSN. If you registered with an e-mail that has since expired or is invalid, you will not be able to change your password.

If you are using another person’s e-mail address or if you are using a wrong e-mail address, please have a valid e-mail address ready and contact your local customer service before proceeding to change the password.

Q.9 Will I be able to use my account again if I contact the customer service?

The local customer service will be able to help you in changing the sign-in ID and resetting the password once we are able to identify that the person calling is the owner of the account.

Wait 2 games per PS3 or user?

I'm wondering the same thing, because if its for every account that was registered to PSN before the hack people could essentially get everything. For example I have 3 friends that are brothers who could just get every single thing of that list.

Is it just me, or does anyone else not have trouble downloading full retail games?

I find all of my download times or anything that needs internet connection for that matter to be slower on PS3.The only thing that is quicker for me is Netflix.

I don't really have "trouble" doing it, I downloaded Red Faction: Guerilla (full game) off the PS Store once, and thats when i decided I wasn't going to do it again(at least for a full game). It's just too much time, and I don't like my system on for too long.

I'm pretty sure they have to offer it per user registered on or before April 20th, considering that it's a program offered to everyone(in regions where available) subscribed to PSN. If they didn't, they'd probably get a lot of angry people saying it's "unfair" or something. Considering all those games are made my companies that were working for Playstation (or SCE, I guess I should say) then I imagine they aren't paying per copy downloaded for free. I've also been wondering whether this "movie rental weekend" they're offering in North America will only consist of older Sony Pictures movies that almost everyones seen.

Y'know, it kinda looks like Sony is trying to just give us anything that won't cost them in the long run. What's next, a free Sony Walkman? lol...
