PSN users BEWARE!

[...]and I certainly don't understand why they can't be a bit more forthcoming with information.

Let me put it short: It's a fundamentally Japanese thing. Unless they are absolutely sure about everything and anything, Japanese companies will rarely offer longer statements. Look at the degree of coverage in the ongoing battle against a catastrophe in Fukushima - they've handed out barely more information than Sony did.

I'd imagine the last thing they want at this point is to release something quickly only to find out there are overlooked issues in it that can be exploited all over again.

I have both, but I am not going to pay $60 to play online. Thats why I bought a PS3 because I was hoping to play online, but now that it seems like sony can't get their act together, I am not sure if the PS3 is even worth it. better graphics heck ya, but I mean come on! I have been very patient and have been waiting for some good news, but now that I just heard more bad news I'm getting a little impatient.

It will be worth it in the long run, but I think we're all getting impatient.

I guess that makes sense. Still, it doesn't make it any easier.

But that's my point. They should have had plenty of time to rebuild/test PSN. I understand that they want to be safe, but come on. As I said before, they MUST have had backups, and I'm sure Sony knows how to build a firewall. I feel like either Sony really doesn't know what they're doing, or they aren't telling us the full extent of the damage. I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist, but at this point these are the only two options that I see.

Because I want to? I'm just giving my opinion, which was legal last time I checked. Just for the record, some of my family members got their credit information stolen.

EDIT: And that was your first post in the thread. So your only in the thread to question my presence? :P

Well obviously not. I have posted in several other PSN down threads in the past, and I actually own Sony products. (PS3 and Walkman) and they have both been very good to me besides this one circumstance. The Walkman lasted about 3 years, which is pretty good when you consider what it went through.

I just don't understand why you would go into a thread with PSN users and post that unless you were expecting a reply.

Well, there wasn't a sign that said "PSN members only". And I've been following this for a while too. Just because I don't own a PS3 doesn't mean I know nothing.

Where did this come from? I never even implied that you knew nothing just because you don't own a PS3. I'm just saying, your just asking for a response when posting something like "I'm glad I don't own anything of Sony" In a thread that would obviously be filled with people who like Sony.

I wasn't actually asking for a response, and I wasn't asking to be flamed either. It was my opinion. I'm sure that people whose credit information was stolen definitely wish they didn't have PSN.

I agree, I wish I had never bought that $5 game on my PSP years ago. The trouble sony has caused me was not worth it.
