Quest Packs

I know you weren't trying to be offensive, but this is a derogitive term for an Asian or Chinese person.

I think he is only being guilty of poor grammar and/or spelling (as are you by missreading it). Notoce he wrote "china SPACE man" so he obiously was thinking of "chinese man" or man from china but got a case of internet grammar-itis (something that has gotten worse and more wide spread every year). Had he omitted the space between "china" and "man" that would have been a derogatory word. As it is written it's just an error.

Geez, I defended a guy and probably came off sounding more obnoxious and intolerant than either of you. This writing internets sure being hard. :banghead:

I was aactually trying to make it sound less racist, I thought chinaman sounded more racist than china man. Maybe i should of written "Chinese man".
I often get this "internet grammar-itis". I usually just call it lazyness :P

haha

I really don't get offended by words, in all honesty I just didn't want someone to go "HEY THATS MEAN" :start a big forum argument:

I don't think anyone was trying to be racist, hence me saying "I don't think you're trying to be offensive."

Anyways, moving on.

Yes, I would rather avoid a big forum argument. I would like to keep this topic nice and clean so hopefully if a dev reads this and see's that ( at this time) that 20 agree with the idea to the 1 person who doesn't and thinks what a wonderfull idea this is :D

Scar_47 made a great point. Quests added in quest packs should be long. Vanilla/DLC resources along are just fine to use but I think people would want at least one new set of armor and one new weapon in each quest.

You don't need to create 600megs of new textures and models just to add enjoyable content to Fallout. There have been a few great quests produced by modders that were extensive but of quite small file sized because they relied on vanilla content.

A version of AWOP for consoles might be a good idea. Finding a way to make some popular mods available to consoles might be a cost and time effective way to provide more content to the pc deprived.

Also if you create quest packs I hope you take into account that AWOP is a popular mod and don't put significant things in the locations it uses.

There really needs to be more locations added. There is a large area of the map that is empty.

I haven't done all the quest lines but the searchlight airport seems to be under used. There are also not enough reasons to hang around Jacobstown or the north vegas ruins area.

I agree completly. It's almost as if the devs were trying to use up space to give the game the appearance of a lot of content.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed NV, but yeah. North Vegas, Jacobstown, and that enormous section of the map all need more content.

I also wouldn't mind a few more chance encounters. In FO3 I found some scavanger in the North guarding some loot, and you could choose to kill him and take it, reason with him, or leave him be.

Little things like that blow my mind.

Something a quest pack could include would be a quest that revolves around the shacks with names:
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Harper%27s_Shack
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Bradley%27s_Shack
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fields%27_Shack
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Neil%27s_Shack

Dunno what the quest would include but I find it strange to find shacks that belong to somebody yet I cannot find the people they belong to.

Anyway, point is that with the quest packs they could make use of the locations in the Mojave which serves little to no purpose.
Hell, if they wanted to they could add new locations too or expand them. (Like when we find a cave that has collapsed, just open up the collapsed rocks and flesh out the cave by that and tie a quest to it.)

We dont always need heaps of new things, like this says it can be created out of vanilla resources. ( with the exception of a few new items per pack)
Just create some more quests.
There is plenty of space on the map in which this can be done :P

how about this; bethesda should give us a free quest pack with some juicy new content as a thank you for sticking with and putting up with such a bugged, yet great game (and continually buying the dlc, which we know we all will regardless that it will probably bugger it up again!).

I wouldn t choose them over a dlc, but they would be welcome.

As long as the cost was appropriate for the amount of extra content.

I like the change of scenery most dlcs for fo have had, im not against quest packs for the main game.

Hey they could even throw in the canon ending. I d pay 3500 microsoft points for that.

You do realize that you'd get like 2 or 3 quest to do and then you'd be back to having nothing new to do in the game which seemed to be your main complaint, at least with the current dlc's you get to see more of the fallout world and experience things far different than what the main game offers which is kinda the point of adding content for it to be different not just more of the same.

Not if you do it right and add quests that have you find stuff. An example, the brotherhood needs fission batteries to replace the old ones in their t-51b power armor after years of continually being used. So the elder hires you to track down fission batteries and pays 50 caps along with increase in fame. After so many batteries you get a prize like a new weapon or something. This could be done with many factions.

i want a quest to run the lucky 38!!!!!!!

You got it :celebration:
http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40531

I probably will not go for quest packs, unless it has a lot of interesting quest and they will affect the Mojave somehow. If not, I rather choose to play fans' quest mod.

That's what i hate.. Computers get yummy mod's but us console users get SFA. (exception of DLC'S)
I lke the idea of making our own quests but i dnt see that happening.
It can be as simple as the fission batterie idea.
God, i hope a dev reads this... :P

Like with DM, it added more lore and gave us Christine and Elijah, very nice lore was given with it, but once the DLC was done what did it actually "add" to the main game?

10 hours of pure gaming bliss.

Sure was, but other than a few trinkets , a conversation and a vending machine nothing new was added to the mojave. Quest packs would just add things to the vanilla game

I remember ID released a cd filled with levels and TCs made by players along with one of their releases of Doom II.

I think the Devs should take several of the more popular mods and incorporate them into a single DLC for consoles. They really do make the game much more replayable.

It should be in between the final DLC and game of hte year edition or along with the GOTY for consoles. they can make sure the various mods wont have conflicts and are spaced properly around the wastelands.
