Quest Packs

Post » Thu Apr 07, 2011 5:46 pm

I personally think the introduction of quest packs would be a great idea.
The idea is that they would add more quests to the main game, new buildings NPC's weapons and the likes without moving to a whole new area.
They would contain a quests, unlike full DLC's whtch is pretty much new storylines.

Any sugestions?

Yes but only if they were cheaper than DLC. (like half price or less)

Oh god yes.
[censored] normal DLC's, no really, [censored] them.
They don't "add" or "expand" the 'actual game' what so every, all they do is give a side-adventure with some cool toys to bring back home.
Now a quest pack on the other hand would give me an incentive to play the game over again to find the quests and see what options I have in them and how the faction reputation and disguise mechanics can do with them.

So yeah, I'd rather have quest packs than DLC's really.
Cause while a DLC can be very VERY interesting and fun when it's over it's over and nothing has changed or been added to the actual game we return to.
Like with DM, it added more lore and gave us Christine and Elijah, very nice lore was given with it, but once the DLC was done what did it actually "add" to the main game?
An unbalanced dispenser, some new toys and some dialogue with Veronica.
Quest packs are superior IMO.

Let me explain a little better:
So I start up Dead Money, great intro, great characters, great writing, great setting, it's simply an awesome adventure.
But then as I complete this awesome adventure I go back to the Mojave, after all that has happened I go back to update ranger stations radio reports and deliver stuff for people.
There's nothing new waiting for me back home (vanilla game), I just return to the same old thing.
A quest pack on the other hand would make me want to explore the 'actual game' again for the new stuff.

Yeah, 400 points. It would probably depend on what is in the pack....

Yes, i would say they are maybe better than DLC's aswell.
They could be used to add more depth to the minor faction storys and that would please everybody.
Oblivion did it, and i loved all the packs they released.
Alot of the things people want could be implemented with them, and if you dont like the idea simply dont buy it.

Ohh, Yes! Absolutely a great idea!
Maybe not so many more 'assassination' but definitely
some more 'investigation' or 'exploration' quests would be more than welcome!
I'd even accept a full price package :)

Not a good idea.
But that′s just me.

Would you pay, let′s say 160 MS points for a Quest Pack???
I′d rather stay with Full DLC Packs.
There i get multiple Quest-Packs!!!, new Guns, new Loot, new Clothes.....for 800 Points.

Not to mention all the NEW Bugs n Glitches you get as a cherry on top.. :brokencomputer: just joking.

I am still wondering that after Dead Money there was so much silence.......and then Bethesda plans
to release Honest Hearts, Lonesome Road and Old World Blues within 3 Month and still having issues
in the Main Game and Dead Money.
I hope and fingers crossed and knocking on wood that this will not end in a Fallout.....

Anyways, if something get terrible wrong on May 17th, i am lucky to have a FIX EVERYTHING PATCH---called-----L.A NOIR

Best Regards
Cruz

be great idea could add perhaps some ideas what were cut from production in the idea design (not an excuse ffor stuff being in the game already but needs to be bought first) though I do think should be cheaper.

good way of adding more Great Khan quests, BOS quests etc...
Or diffrent small factions like a proper Mafia

I must apologize!!!
There is one quest-pack that i would definately BUY right away.....

A Quest-Pack that finally add some TARANTULA′s or Traphole Spiders.
There is already an awesome mod for PC, but c′mon....
Just thinking of the old Tarantula Movie.
Ants are lame. The Mojave needs Spiders.

Just think of camp searchlight or DUNWICH Building (Fallout 3) with Tarantula,
you would shi* your pants, especially with good FX.

Wat i would like to see, bare with me, is people from other countrys coming into fallout.
You cant say it's impossible, how do you know EVERY country wa completely destroyed. If the boomers have a plane why can't a china "person", or an englishman, or an aussie?
Why would they go to america? Maybe to look for signs of life. Maybe a city survived total devestation and they go around the world , i dont know, finding more people for the gene pool. It's more believable than getting kidnapped by an alien race :P
EDIT: better now?

They could release a quest pack DLC for 800 MSP that adds 15+ new quests to the main game along with new weapons, armors, perks, traits, misc, recepies et cetera.
Hell, I'd buy a quest pack for 800 MSP even if it only added 15 new quests.

This ,my friend , is a top idea. Somebody get this guy a job at bethesda right [censored] now. I never even thought of spiders as a creature in the game, it would be like that movie 8 legged freaks. Nice job :foodndrink:

EDIT: ^ Good idea, i'd love more weapon mods. Silencers for everybody!

Ehh, not a fan. The DLC's are fun, expansive, and add to the game. A few new quests that you do one time with the same stuff from the game? Doesn't sound like much fun to me. Besides. You'd have companies start holding out quests that would initially be in the game and putting them in these "Quest Packs."
Once all the DLC comes out, most of the stuff that comes in the main game will just be intermittent between the DLCs in terms of my storyline.

They could be taking out quest's from main game for DLC already.

@Dice Demon - I would like this too! you could make caps off this and could bring in a whole range of new quests!

You do realize that you'd get like 2 or 3 quest to do and then you'd be back to having nothing new to do in the game which seemed to be your main complaint, at least with the current dlc's you get to see more of the fallout world and experience things far different than what the main game offers which is kinda the point of adding content for it to be different not just more of the same.
