Random Crashes are driving me up a wall.

I'm having the same problem, it is completely at random with no rhyme or reason. I have turned down everything, done fresh install, turned off or uninstalled all "background" programs, nothing seems to work.

Yea my crashes are becoming more frequently I recently got to a tower where you turn the power back on and it crashes the minute i complete the quest and level...and i've tried to load it and get pasted that point but it still crashes at the same point...PLEASE RELEASE A MAJOR PATCH FOR THIS GAME NOW!

2 words:

Gambryo engine.

This thing needs to be led out behind the shed and put out of it's misery! I'll dig the grave!

It's a buggy engine, always has been. Some have no issues, were others are plagued with them.

Sometimes you'll get a full day of play, then the next day you're lucky if last for 30 minutes.

I see the same issues I've seen since Morrowind. (It was slightly updated for Oblivion/fallout.)

So, I refer you, and the powers that be to reread my third sentence and hope the powers that be listened for future TES and Fallout games.

Quoting this just so that it gets seen more, because its so painfully true. Gamebryo is pure, unrefined garbage, and beth / obsidian really have no business trying to make games with it in 2010. They give it a nice effort with graphical bolt ons and gameplay improvements, but it will never solve the fact that it runs like trash.

I know there is probably a large investment in acquiring and learning to use developer platforms, but really. They arent some podunct indie developer, they are a juggernaut with fans screaming SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY no matter what quality game they release.

Maybe thats the problem...

I agree...its such a killer formula and such a highly addictive game! I just wish they'd put it through it's paces more...this is just terrible. I've tried just about every fix i can find and I still crash every 20-30 minutes...

It crashes for me every time I try to get near the north/north west - so... anywhere near progressing from the early game, really.
It will hit a certain spot, and it's consistently the same spots, and completely freeze up.

Turned off music, have barebones settings and still no good.

Funny thing is that before they released the patch I actually played the game for 45 hours without a single crash, eversince then I get a CTD all the time while running about.
