Random Werewolf attacks...

Does something trigger them? Haven't had them happen to me yet. Thoughts?

Same with me i haven't seen a single wild werewolf at all. Why didn't beth just added named wild werewolves like they did with vampires?

I seen on the forums that people say it happens at night time and when you meet them there are famers or hunters when you get close to them they turn however I have the worst luck and never seems to get them.

Beth should have just made already transformed wild werewolves spawn in the woods or snowy areas making the farmers the wild werewolves was a stupid idea.

That would have been great and I like the way they did it for morrowind normal beings in the morning and werewolves at night and there normal forms they would still be hard to kill and more powerful as werewolves but having them already werewolves from the start would be still cool

agreed. Would be more intimidating to come across an already transformed werewolf.

The only werewolves I found were two fighting a giant, I assumed they were farmers/hunters but when the giant threatened them they changed.

If we're talking about the farmers that usually walk about the roads in pairs and ask for money because a dragon sacked their farm, and the hunters that just mule about shooting arrows around while chasing, and shouting obscenities at deer and elk.. I haven't had these guys transform for me at all.

And I've been trying to make it happen. Wandering roads and meeting them at night. Nothing so far. Tried three times, for an hour and a half each.

Well this is going to be most likely one of the three issues to be adressed in the next patch. Along with marriage, and Npc death problem. It definetly would be more fun to be attacked by already transformed WW like in one of the PC mods

They did I've seen a video of a guy riding out near riften shooting a couple bears with crossbow bolts when two werewolf brutes attack clearly something very different then the new random encounters of a farmer turning out to be a werewolf. 0 previous farmer encounters were changed.

Yeah i would love to be attacked by a pack of werewolves at night. I wish nights were more dangerous in general, I think your chances of dieing at night are higher in minecraft.

Edit: Werewolves encountered in dawnguard

I was walking through the woods in the Rift and ended up ambushed by two brutes. This was during the night.

I think its cool that an innocent looking hunter/farmer transforms instead of already being a werewolf. I have only had one encounter so far, but it gave me quite a shock! I saw this guy just standing there in the wilderness and thought I would go find out what he was. As soon as I got near he transformed. I paniced a bit, but then got my stuff together. He didn't seem very powerful like I was expecting.

I came across one I bumped into a farmer at night in the woods near Shors stone he shouted lets see what you've got transformed and attacked. TBH it was a bit disappointing as he seemed very weak a few shield bashes a couple of sword swings and he was dead.

I have played Dawnguard for 40+ hours and have yet to bump into a wild werewolf  It would seem that most of the encounters happen in the Rifton area. Has anyone noticed weather or not these encounters happen during a full moon or not ? Or do they just happen ? I have passed many farmers and hunters on my travels during and after Dawnguard and have not once even gotten a hint that werewolves where in the wilderness other then reports on these forums. Maybe I'll track down a farmer or hunter and just tail them for a day or two.

Really
What about the farmer, hunter thing? If it's a solid fact that the farmers and hunters that wander the map are the ones turning into werewolves then I'll just tail one until I see him / her change. Like I said I have 40+ hours on my first play through without a sign of wild werewolves and another 15+ hours on the second run through and still no sign of wild werewolves. :nope:

I've run across a pack of random werewolves in the woods. I believe they were already transformed. I was in my VL form and just slaughtered them. I have also run across random packs of vampires, I'm not sure if they were in the game prior. I was in my VL form and heard someone call me, something like hey traveler, please come help me. Found them, they got aggro and the name came up as vampires. Slaughtered them too. Ironic since I was in VL form.
