So I finally hit the point today where I loaded up the game and nothing really seemed to excite me, and I was like "crap, I'm bored" so I closed the game.

Then I saw my hours played on Steam.

150 hours is about what it took for me to get bored for the first time.

I can't even REMEMBER a game that kept me entertained that long. When I was 16 I spent an entire summer playing Final Fantasy 7, 80 hours or so of gameplay, and I thought that was a ton. I loved Mass Effect 2, played it through 4 times... 72 hours played (Steam kept track as well).

But holy mother of fallout, 150 hours of gameplay?


Then I realized I'd never done the Deathclaw Promontory and was no longer bored...

Sweet. I'm like at 16 hours or so, so I have a lot to look forward to. Which is great because I'm not even finished with Fallout 3 yet! I can already tell I'll be playing for a long long time and loving every minute of it.

Not bad, that like what, $0.33 an hour. not bad for entertainment that you haven't exhausted yet. I do applaud you got getting through FF7 in less that 100, took me 175 my first time, courtesy of mono and no school for 3 weeks.

By the time I'd gotten all the secrets and whatnot it was almost christmas...

and yeah, I figure that it's the cheapest entertainment you can find.


@Jonahirt: That's the great thing about open-world games, because by the time you get through all of FO3 and all of FO:NV then there's all the DLC to explore, not to mention if you're on the PC you can probably get another 20-30 hours of fun out of mods.

dude im at 154.10.03 with one save and 73.20.10 with the other, and im not even close to being bored

yes, im at the load screen right now. i wanted to see what happened if i jumped in the pot of melted steel in new vegas steel. needless to say it kills you....

Wow...I have 184 hours of gameplay. I still haven't done everything yet. There's certainly tons to do on this game. Despite what some people say...

Hmmm...210 hours. Not too shabby.

That's spread across 4 saves, but 210 hours is still 210 hours.

(Well...5 actually, but one's intended to go Cowboy perk so he's been idled at about the 3 hour mark until a certain patch fixing a certain bug comes out.)

Hop to it man, you're almost to the 10 day mark.

There should be an achievement for that.

I replay every game I buy over and over. Chances are I've spent that amount of time on every game I have but currently my enjoyment of Fallout: New Vegas hasn't made it past the 120 hour mark (it's hunting season in Oklahoma and I need a doe!)

I feel like I play the game very fast.

207 hours, 2 play-throughs and at least 1 more to go. Not bored in the least, don't think its possible. :fallout:

It gets worse.

Every minute at home that I wasn't with the family, working, playing or sleep, I've been making a major update to the FNVEdit manual for the last 3 weeks, at least 4 hours a day, at 166 pages.

The sacrifise? Sleep - about 4 hours a night. :facepalm:

I should report to a clinic or something. Then again, vacation just started, so maybe I should finish the manual and start my 3rd (Evil Char) playthrough. :mohawk:

I'd prescribe alcohol. Drink a fifth of whiskey and call me in the morning. You won't have trouble sleeping.

After a fifth of whiskey you'd probably think Cassidy is right next to you... On second thought, drinking that much would probably invite a slap from your wife or girlfriend. I withdraw my suggestion.

How do you tell total gameplay time if on a PS3?

Start game, click the load game option in start menu, look at each characters save's playtime, add them up, ????, profit!!!

Just look at the last saves time. That is how many hours that character has been played.

The great part is you can play through the game and without even realizing it solve the quests in different ways. Think I've dealt with Benny at "The Tops" in three totally different ways now and all three just "felt right". You can rack up several hundred hours of play time just exploring the different ways to solve the quests alone.

Yeah, I'm 80 hours in and have yet to complete 1 mission. All I've done so far is wander around the wasteland to get a feel for the map and discover the various locations. Just arrived in New Vegas for the first time yesterday. Certainly worth the 60 bucks spent for this game.

Before I lost my save due to me being stupid and overwriting it with a different save, I was at 40 hours of gameplay and I pretty much did everything that you could do in New Vegas.

150 hours is nothing I've done 180 hours in Oblivion on my 1 file.

Around 190 hours here but I've been noodling around waiting for a patch so I can do the endgame. Last night we went back to the RepConn Facility because we had done it early in the game. It was interesting to see the items that were left behind because at that point, I didn't know what was important and what wasn't. Now I didn't need them but does anyone know how to turn off that crazy rocket launching music in that place!? Still finding new things on the map too and unique weapons. It was surprising to see Boone equipping a unique mini-gun over the sniper rifle.

Congrats, I just reached 159 hours on my current playthrough, making a grand total of 300+ hours, I have found and done everything, yet I still kill time roaming and killing.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you play for 25 minutes (for example) and then 'oops' reload to one of the previous saves, the game doesn't keep track of that time. It simply picks up the clock again from wherever that save was. Not like Steam where the clock starts ticking the second you boot up the game.
