Do the Imperials make you a Jarl at the end of their quests? :whistling:

That is false. You get several Dragon Shouts along the way.

I stand by what I said, you'd be absent 90% of the time and unable to do your job as local ruler and protector. You would be unable to do the job, therefore it would be stupid to give it to you.

Counterpoint: every other leadership position in Skyrim you get. I don't think anyone really feels they can be the leader of the DB, the mages guild, the thieves guild, companions, be a thane of nine cities, a high ranking officer in the military, a servant of damn near every deity ever, plus all the other happy stuff the PC gets to do, and do them well. It's a game. Bethesda could of just gave you the old adviser, who is trying to run things for you while you're being the dragonborn.

Is that practical in real life? Not so much, but neither is really anything that happens in Elder Scroll games in terms of gaining rank. The Blades in Oblivion was about the only one that felt realistic, and that's because you never got promoted past reliable gofer.

Ulfric really is a GIANT dike.
Giant dike is not an insult.
I think that calling him an itsy bitsy [censored] would actually be better. :P

Still, I do think that it would be good if Ulfric/Talius offered us to become a Jarl of Windhelm after the war and giving us an option of accepting or declining.
