yes, if beth does not improve their games beyond making shiny grafix then they will fail, the open-world beth makes lack substance and if another company makes one with any polish at all then they will out beth out of business. id be willing to go back to oblivion graphics is beth would focus on something, anything, beyond them and would give life to the the world they make

According to Bethesda themselves, the engine in Skyrim is unique and was built just for this game, so unless you're saying Bethesda is lying, this guy does know what he is talking about.

Actually, that's false. Bethesda has even admitted that the Creation Engine is just a heavily modified Gamebryo Engine. Gamebryo is dead, yes, and that's what New Vegas was built on. But Creation is VERY similar to it.

Heavily modified? You're playing a semantics game- it's like saying that the game doesn't use unique code because that code already existed before they programmed the game. They took existing code, and HEAVILY MODIFIED it to make a unique, new engine. It didn't exist before this. Therefore, new.

It's like taking an old car and street rodding it. Same car, just modified to function as well as modern cars.

Heck, there are bugs present in Skyrim that have been a fault of the engine since Oblivion.

Just because its a new engine doesn't mean there are no similarities. The engine just added better graphics smoother gameplay etc. but it is still very much the same to fallout oblivion and NV. Almost identical even
