I really wish they would have implemented more New Vegas

Don't get me wrong i love skyrim and play it every day but, there are so many things Fallout NV improved upon, i liked telling your followers use ranged or use close or follow closer, and it actually felt like you were in the game because the followers had good backstorys and there own personal quests. I also liked hating going into the metro stations because i hated ghouls the drauger in this game are just ehh. The Customizing of your home in fallout 3 was even better than skyrims i liked having a theme to your home and i wish i could have that in skyrim. But enough of my ranting i can't be the only one that felt this way though right?

I think it is a pain to place things in my skyrim home. It takes like 10 minutes to get a weapon standing up against a wall.

What I thought was great about NV was the side character depth and the factional alignments. Dialogue in general was much better.

I hope that some of NV's innovations make it into Fallout IV, and future Elder Scrolls games. hardcoe mode in particular.

I'd love to be out in the woods of Skyrim, get tired or hungry, have to kill a deer and eat it, and sleep on a bedroll under the stars. (360 player, so no mods for me--I have to wait for Bethesda to incorporate this).

Yeah, it's nice when follower/companion AI is a bit more in depth/accessible as are your interactions with them and I definitely agree that it was cool to experience their individual stories-I mean, I get why the housecarls don't have back stories; They're just automatically appointed to you by their associated jarls as soon as you become the thane of that city, so they probably decided that it wasn't necessary for them, but if they had back stories and associated quests for them, I definitely wouldn't complain! Anything to add more depth, real depth, is always a good thing!

I'd have loved a hardcoe mode as well, like having to repair my equipment after enough use before it breaks or just becomes too weak and stays that way until fixed. Also, I'd edit my posts instead of making new ones, but until I get my laptop fixed, my PS3 is all I have and net kinda' svcks with it. :/

I would especially love the reputation with the different tribes system from NV, would be cool to have something as that in Skyrim :bunny:

Meh, I HATE draugur. I try to avoid them as much as possible (mainly because their loot svcks, but they still give me the heebee jeebees). If they added a clawing version of draugur it would be even more creepy.

As for house customization... Skyrim blows.

I wish your character in Skyrim had better dialogue instead of asking questions all of the time. Talking to characters in New Vegas was great. I guess things are a bit more serious in Skyrim than in New Vegas.

Skyrim with the best NV features...i can only dream.

I would need no other game.

That said, I'm hopelessly addicted to EVE online so a Skyrim with the best NV features & spaceships=Bliss.

New Vegas wasn't made by Bethesda though, it was made by the makers of the original Fallout games, so they knew what they were doing, they are good story writers and game designers. I do hope Bethesda takes their style or at least hires them for FO4.

Seriously?

New Vegas wasn't written by Bethesda.

It's a smaller game world.

It's a more linear game world.

Many of the features people fondly recall in the story came in dlc.

Can we at least stick to comparing Skyrim to actual TES games?

So, what you're saying, is TES games shouldn't evolve in any way shape or form. If anything, just go back to Morrowind. But never make any other improvements. Yes?

Nope.

But thanks for quoting me and then just posting your own agenda anyway. What I said is perfectly clear: if you're going to compare Skyrim to any game, wouldn't it make more sense to compare it to a game that has similar features, gameplay, environment and playstyle? None of those really fit New Vegas. Just because it's the same game studio doesn't mean it's similar in any way, other than RPG elements.

Might as well compare it to Dragon Age, or Final Fantasy XIII, or heck, someone posted Diablo a few days ago. Those are ridiculous comparisons, because they don't come close to being similar in any manner. They were designed to offer completely different experiences.

I get what you're saying. But a lot of great games have borrowed elements from other game series. I mean, look at the effect LOTR had on Fantasy as a genre.

Also, it wasn't even the same game studio. Obsidian made New Vegas, Bethesda just QA tested and published.

Actually, I don't like games 'borrowing' from other games. I get what you're saying about Lord of the Rings, but the really good fantasy that came from that was influenced by it and let it inspire their writing, instead of ripping characters and ideas straight out and implementing them.

Case in point: one of the biggest poaches I've seen in Skyrim is the marriage system. This was implemented, in my opinion, simply because it's become popular in other games like Fable. Instead of straight out ripping them off, they could have considered developing the follower aspects a lot more, and leading some of them to have romantic possibilities. It would have added more depth to the followers and it would have given us the opportunity to discover these surprise romantic opportunities instead of them just saying "hey, wear an amulet and stuff, and people will fall madly in love with you!"

Are you kidding me? Have you played Fallout 3 or NV they have the same mechanics just a different vibe because fallout NV has a more humor side but honestly same controls as skyrim same basic engine as oblivion so how about instead of saying to compare it to a similar game you know what your talking about.

According to Bethesda themselves, the engine in Skyrim is unique and was built just for this game, so unless you're saying Bethesda is lying, this guy/girl does know what he/she is talking about.
