Rebuilding Helgen

I'd like to be able to rebuild Winterhold, too. Return it to it's former glory.

Kvatch says hi.
Ghehe. Exactly. That one was never rebuild either. There was mod that did it, right?

I'd start a petition, hopefully Bethesda will notice it.

I like this idea a lot. Wouldn't want to be a Jarl, but a statue in my honour in the middle of town would not be overkill.
Yeah! I loved it in Oblivion when you (minor spoiler about Oblivion, nothing to do with Skyrim)
Spoiler
get a statue in Bruma

As Dragon-Priest69 already said, there's no Jarl of Helgen since it's a part of the hold of Falkreath, with the Jarl of Falkreath ruling over it. I think it would be better if we got involved in a more mercantile inspired way, much like the Raven Rock colony in Bloodmoon. It could start with the current Jarl of Falkreath attracting investors to rebuild Helgen by promising them a few profitable economical liberties inside the settlement. A share of the tariffs of imported goods going to and from Cyrodiil, for instance.

WHo cares about Helgen? They wanted to execute me there. Being a sword spell I'd rather rebuild Winterhold.

I'm more interested in rebuilding Winterhold, it would be difficult though as it seems a lot of it has been lost, land included.
But it was probably a beautiful city before the Great Collapse and it's a shame we weren't able to see it, hence why I'd want to rebuild it.

That's only because of the commander. A bit of paper work before your capture and we may have had a commander who'd let you go. Besides, pretty much everyone from Helgen is dead and it would be settled by new blood, so no real reason to bear a grudge. And I see Winterhold as a bit more challenging than Helgen, a few repairable abandoned houses aside most of the growth options were lost in the great collapse, now at the bottom of the sea.

+1

OP: I Really loved the Kvatch Rebuilt mod for OB, and I would really love to see something Similar for Helgen or even Winterhold in Skyrim.

Helgen is part of Falkreath Hold and it's unlikely that either choices for Jarl would just allow you to take a part of their land away.
That and what villagers would build on land recently burned by a dragon? it's just bad luck you know.

Well unless you payed the jarl an amount of septims for the land and happened to convince some followers to build there.
Even that is not probable, for Bethesda I think would like to leave Helgen as it is, to show the effect of the dragons awakening.

What I think would be better location for a DLC involving rebuilding is Winterhold city. It has quest potential - investigating The Great Collapse.
It also already has a Jarl, so one wouldn't need to worry about becoming a Jarl themselves and managing a city. Then to add to this you have
the College of Winterhold right next door, so perhaps Bethesda could add more content to that faction.

Not sure if Winterhold is such a great choice either in terms of superstition. Most people think that the mages of the College were either responsible for the great collapse, or could have prevented it but did nothing. They are not exactly trusted anymore, to put it lightly. But even though I think that Winterhold would be complicated to rebuild I'd be happy to give it a try if it was added. As long as they managed to handle the obstacles I'd be more than happy.

I wouldn't mind seeing either rebuilt.
*Helgen you could only start it after defeating Alduin
-Build one building at a time then seek out different investors who would set up different things
-You'd have to convince people to live there
- And you get a giant statue in the middle of town of you killing a dragon :D (kinda like Talo but cooler)
-and you'd have to deal with a few bandit raids every once in awhile because they didn't want to get kicked out.
just a few ideas for a new DLC
for Winterhold...i have no idea how to start that one. Learn some spell to bring back the land????

Fair enough. Perhaps my character would care more about rebuilding Helgen had they been a Nord. But as things stand, my character has no ties to Helgen and no reason to care for it either way.

Sounds good to me, I wouldn't mind rebuilding it. Right now is just a hap hazard bunch of bandits hanging around there scavenging the place.

I would rather see Bethesda work on story based DLC. Story was way too thin in Skyrim. Hopefully, the DLC will be meatier.

Helgen =will= get the Rebuild treatment in a mod. That's just a matter of time.

It is a wonderful idea, and I hope Bethesda has considered it. There may be reasons (game engine might be stretched to much, glitches and bugs might occur en masse with that), but overall it's a great idea.

Now, I only need more than five thousand gold pieces.

What about the idea of gathering materials? such as wood and iron to rebuild the city.

Does this involve talking land from whiterun hold, falkreath hold and the rift by force? Because that would be cool. Tho if ulfick couldn't do it with an army then would be hard to do it on your own.

Excuse me? Those "soldiers" were just meat sacks :D Im dovahkiin of course i can totally own everyone. Heck, i've killed the world eater, what's to stop me from eating the world myself :D

Kinda. You can wander around with the camera by issuing TFC in the console at the very beginning at have a good eagle-view of the town before it's destroyed by Alduin. Looks like there are no shops nor smiths and such, actually it doesn't look like it qualifies as a "town".
