My uncle is one of the main shareholders of thq and I complained I couldn't play metro on dx11 (was running a gtx 8800 then)
That is what he gave me. My ssd is actually inferior to the new intel ones you guys have because it was a test model. I have no trim support, so every 4 months or so I have to do a slow format to make it back to factory goodness (restore it to original speed). So I dual booted on a mechanical hdd. IDK why it runs so bad man, if I knew I'd fix it and play it. I like this game so far, I just can't handle 30+ fps dips every time I get near a npc.
The engine can't handle sli or good components.
And my dentist is Obama.
I have high end components and CFX, the engine handles it fine. (Oblivion and FO3, haven't tried NV yet)
And block in bios 4 of my cores and disable HT so I have a dual core.
I have no ram at all. 1gb stick and a 512 mb stick. (after complaining to thq about metro they sent me everything including the kitchen sink but ram) I already knew that was the problem anyway.
And crysis ran 40 ish usually. But me2 will run at like 700 if I turn vsync off. Yeah srsly.
1) A Core i7 975 has 4 cores, not 6...Yet you claim to have 6 cores and a 975, make up your mind.

2) There are no 512MB sticks of DDR3 that I know of, I think they cut it out of the spec.
3) 700fps on ME2? Suuuuuuuuure, I can barely manage 120 with CFX HD4890s yet your rig which isn't much faster can manage more than quadruple mine?
I think you may have identified what this guy is really trying to say.
Nothing particularly innovative or revolutionary or extraordinary has ever come from the engine these games have been released with.
A new engine with tons of features doesn't guarantee that the programmers can utilize it to make original games. But when compared to the technology of today, beth falls way short in their ability to utilize. This why they are making a new in-house engine.
Obsidian was smart for choosing to just focus on content for New Vegas because the engine they had to work with is too out-dated. They weren't going to improve the engine for New Vegas in the slightest bit because it would be a colossal hassle. What takes other well known Games to come out with updated graphics and all that jazz plus a fair amount of new content, is less than what Obsidian would be challenged with.
Conclusion:
It is reasonable now for future Fallout titles to be on something new.
The graphics and the abilities of what we see in new vegas is unacceptable for future releases.
You obviously weren't around in 2006...Oblivion did a lot to the RPG genre, eg. The tree generation, huge amount of land rendered at once, etc.
FO: NV is practically an expansion pack, hence, its not going to innovate much in engine changes, etc, you wouldn't expect EA to make the Sims 3 photo-realistic with their latest expansion pack..
