A Rogue's Dilemma; Entering the College : V

I play as a Rogue, more specifically a Smuggler (Stealth Archer primarily). I wanted to go through the whole game without casting (or learning) one single spell. Obviously, I'm interested in the Thieve's Guild. Here's my dilemma:

I'm at the Quest in the Thieve's Guild where I must enter the college, but the clown at the gate demands I cast a spell in order to enter. With a potion, my speechcraft is 79 and I still failed to persuade. Is it possible to persuade here, or must I cast the spell?

Tell her you are dragon born and use a shout. You can get in that way.

What if he's not Dragonborn? What if he's just a rogue?

I think there's a back way in, from under the college. Path leads up into the midden.

Persuade at 100 will get you in. Although using persuade or Dragonborn option keeps the quest visit the college open still.

Not exactly. It's a cliff like exit only like the under forge exit in Whiterun, even if you can reach it you wouldn't be able to jump to the cliff to get in.

I forgot about that. Is it accessible from the ground, or only from inside the Midden, though?

I was able to do it with when i just had Unrelenting Force.

So is there no way to simply sneak past her? Be invisible? She probably just stops you like a wall with her dialogue, doesn't she?

Perhaps if she were paralyzed or otherwise incapacitated?

No the front door to the college is locked and requires a key.

Nope, she just unlocks the gate. Buff your speech up some more and come back to her.

Amulet of Dibella gives 15 speech points too. Also give 1 coin to a beggar. Should be good then

Nah there's no diaolog option about being Dragonborn, and using Unrelenting Force on her makes her hostile.

Guess I'll just swallow my pride and cast the spell. I'm in the OP's shoes, too, you see.

Oh! Cast a spell using a scroll. Would that work?

I got that option during MQ to find the scroll. I launched her with my voice and she let me in as an equal. But it didn't clear the visit the college quest so I reloaded and did the magic option.

Thats odd. In my game, that guy for some reason will never, ever leave the inn. I just sauntered up to him, no college required.

Mind you, I was already in the college.

Enthir was at the inn during my thief play through as well. Otherwise to get the dragonborn option you have to progress the main story for a little ways (I don't remember how far).
