Jennifer's story is a sad one. Born in a town in the northern United States, she grew up with six other children. They where life-long friends, devoted to each other. She lived care free and could always depend on her companions just as much as they depended on her. Although she wasn't the smartest, or the fastest, or the best with a gun, she did know a little about everything and could do whatever was needed at the time. She lied alot, and could talk rings around most people, but was rarely caught and she never hurt anyone with her lies (that didn't deserve it). Where she shined, though, was in explosives. She knew how to cook up just about any kind of kaboom needed for the situation.
She loved her friends just as much as they loved her, and she would always hang around them. She had a crush on a girl named Erika in her group, but never voiced her feelings. The relationship she shared with another one of her friends, a man named Johnny, was best described as "closer than siblings". Every day was an adventure for her and her band of misfits.
Then, one day, a group of strangers came to town. She doesn't know why, but not only where the men looking for her, they where looking to kill her. Her friends came together to protect her and stood up to the men. Half an hour later, the men where dead, but so were each of her friends. She buried all six of them under a tree on a hilltop they camped at often, then dug a hole for herself; laid down in it; put her lucky 9mm pistol in her mouth; and pulled the trigger. A loud click, and nothing happened. It had jammed. She took this as a sign, and with a heavy heart, chose to continue living. She still keeps the bullet that should have killed her.
Taking a job as a courier, Jennifer wandered from place to place for a few months, drifting here and there looking for a purpose. Eventually she got offered a job delivering a Platinum Chip, and headed for Nevada.
In the Mojave, she prefers to wander alone. She will, every now and then, join with someone to help her scavenge on a particularly tough job, but the fear that anyone she might happen to befriend might die protecting her, like her friends before, ensures that she leaves their company if she starts getting too close to them. She's worked with Boone so far, and enjoys being around him, as they both share a painful past. Her attempts to cheer him up don't usually work. She wandered with a woman named Cassidy for a while, but after getting too drunk one night and having six with her, she felt herself falling in love and ended the companionship before it went anywhere. Cass is still on good terms with her, but Jennifer tries to stay away from Mojave Outpost as much as she can. While she doesn't appreciate what Benny did to her, but due to her nihilism and self-apathy, she doesn't hold a grudge.
She's nice, upbeat and positive on the outside, but an emotional train-wreck on the inside. She likes doing good, and tries to help everyone she can (for a small fee, ofcorse), but constantly questions her own self-worth. She doesn't put a lot of value in her life, but has an underlying fear of death that she can't shake. Although she tries to act brave, she often takes on more than she can handle and ends up running away, hating herself even more for her cowardice.
Becomes very sullen when "Johnny Guitar" comes on the radio.
Has made Goodsprings her home for now, and set up a small store in the abandoned gas station. Is fond of Sunny Smiles, and treats her like a little sister.
Wow, that was longer than I expected it to be. I just couldn't stop writing :3
Another character I'm beginning is a woman named Sammy. I forgot her stats. She enlisted with the NCR and is serving her term in the Mojave. She usually dyes her hair brown or black, but since getting it shaven off during training, it's grown out to its previous color: cobalt blue, due to a genetic mutation. She's not particularly happy about it, and complains often that it makes her stand out. She's a hell of a marksman, and might one day make it into the Ranger Elites. Often sends home letters to her brothers, sisters and friends she left back east, detailing life in the military and current events in the Mojave.
