Jennifer's story is a sad one. Born in a town in the northern United States, she grew up with six other children. They where life-long friends, devoted to each other. She lived care free and could always depend on her companions just as much as they depended on her. Although she wasn't the smartest, or the fastest, or the best with a gun, she did know a little about everything and could do whatever was needed at the time. She lied alot, and could talk rings around most people, but was rarely caught and she never hurt anyone with her lies (that didn't deserve it). Where she shined, though, was in explosives. She knew how to cook up just about any kind of kaboom needed for the situation.

She loved her friends just as much as they loved her, and she would always hang around them. She had a crush on a girl named Erika in her group, but never voiced her feelings. The relationship she shared with another one of her friends, a man named Johnny, was best described as "closer than siblings". Every day was an adventure for her and her band of misfits.

Then, one day, a group of strangers came to town. She doesn't know why, but not only where the men looking for her, they where looking to kill her. Her friends came together to protect her and stood up to the men. Half an hour later, the men where dead, but so were each of her friends. She buried all six of them under a tree on a hilltop they camped at often, then dug a hole for herself; laid down in it; put her lucky 9mm pistol in her mouth; and pulled the trigger. A loud click, and nothing happened. It had jammed. She took this as a sign, and with a heavy heart, chose to continue living. She still keeps the bullet that should have killed her.

Taking a job as a courier, Jennifer wandered from place to place for a few months, drifting here and there looking for a purpose. Eventually she got offered a job delivering a Platinum Chip, and headed for Nevada.

In the Mojave, she prefers to wander alone. She will, every now and then, join with someone to help her scavenge on a particularly tough job, but the fear that anyone she might happen to befriend might die protecting her, like her friends before, ensures that she leaves their company if she starts getting too close to them. She's worked with Boone so far, and enjoys being around him, as they both share a painful past. Her attempts to cheer him up don't usually work. She wandered with a woman named Cassidy for a while, but after getting too drunk one night and having six with her, she felt herself falling in love and ended the companionship before it went anywhere. Cass is still on good terms with her, but Jennifer tries to stay away from Mojave Outpost as much as she can. While she doesn't appreciate what Benny did to her, but due to her nihilism and self-apathy, she doesn't hold a grudge.

She's nice, upbeat and positive on the outside, but an emotional train-wreck on the inside. She likes doing good, and tries to help everyone she can (for a small fee, ofcorse), but constantly questions her own self-worth. She doesn't put a lot of value in her life, but has an underlying fear of death that she can't shake. Although she tries to act brave, she often takes on more than she can handle and ends up running away, hating herself even more for her cowardice.

Becomes very sullen when "Johnny Guitar" comes on the radio.

Has made Goodsprings her home for now, and set up a small store in the abandoned gas station. Is fond of Sunny Smiles, and treats her like a little sister.

Wow, that was longer than I expected it to be. I just couldn't stop writing :3

Another character I'm beginning is a woman named Sammy. I forgot her stats. She enlisted with the NCR and is serving her term in the Mojave. She usually dyes her hair brown or black, but since getting it shaven off during training, it's grown out to its previous color: cobalt blue, due to a genetic mutation. She's not particularly happy about it, and complains often that it makes her stand out. She's a hell of a marksman, and might one day make it into the Ranger Elites. Often sends home letters to her brothers, sisters and friends she left back east, detailing life in the military and current events in the Mojave.

Thunder

Faction Alignment
Caesars Legion
(Any tribals)
Thunder believes in the dark age. He believes that the technology is the reason for mans downfall.
Any faction that has that agenda is the one he will join, no matter how they try to do it.
Because he believes that the end justifies the means.

that's not what Caesar's legion believes at all... they just believe in the right of the strongest...

I said at the Bruiser Trait part of my post that I wrote this pre-release.
I just copy pasted it back here without editing it.

Here is a journal entry from my character-from Fallout 3; :whisper:

My name is Flint. I wasn't born with this name, but that is what I call myself now. I was raised in a vault, Vault 101. In what the locals call The Capital Wasteland. I don't know what others call it. I don't talk about my past much. I wasn't born in a vault, my mother died in giving birth to me, so all I had of her was a recording of her voice. I gave that up, too. At 19, my father left the vault I grew up in, I followed, only to see him die because of the Enclave. I took it upon my shoulders to complete my parents work. I nearly died accomplishing that. After that I joined a faction of the Brotherhood of Steel, Lyon's Pride, in an assault of breaking down the Enclave. After that, an avalanche of emotional turmoil hit me. I decided to leave. At a house, I read a journal report of another Enclave in the west. As I had nothing holding me back, I decided to check it out. I said my good-byes, and left some stuff with my friend Moira Brown, of Megaton. I also gifted her my Pipboy. It had nothing but pain on it. My travels west, were harsh, I avoided people as much as possible. I spent my money, then had to trade most of my gear to survive. Getting to Nevada, I was down to my last few possesions. My armored Vaultsuit, my pistol, a gift from my childhood friend. So I took up work as a courier. See where that got me. Some clown in a checkered suit shot me in the head, and a doctor named Mitchel patched me up. As he had to root around in my head, I seem to have lost some skills. All my memory is still there, just the techniques are gone. And, NOW I got another Pipboy. This can't be good. Well, got to go find someone named Sunny Smiles.

First character:

Pingas Kahn

Age: 22
Gender: Male
Traits: Wild Wasteland, Small Frame
SPECIAL: 6 6 5 5 6 6 7
Tagged skills: Guns, Repair, Picklock
Notes: Since the first time I play RPGs is usually a bit of a mess, I don't usually do a srs character. Thus, Pingas Kahn. I 'spose on hindsight I could have named him The Great Pingas, but eh, whatever.

Current character:

Sasha Bellic
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Traits: Wild Wasteland, Trigger Discipline
SPECIAL: 6 7 6 10 7 5 6 (Yes, I haxed, sue me)
Tagged skills: Guns, Science, Picklock
Notes: Intended to be a descendant of GTA IV protagonist Niko Bellic. As such she's going to be hot-headed, trigger happy, will steal everything that isn't nailed down, and roll around in style. Niko had his nice cars, Sasha has her Pimp-Boy 3 Billion.

Two things are keeping me from transferring my FO3 character to NV. One: The prerequisite mods haven't been ported. 2: I'm not sure if I want to yet.

Astrid - Female - Somewhere around late 20's/ early 30's

Astrid was always quiet. She had to be.
Untill about the age of five, she and her parents had been 'members' of Ceasars legion. Kept in check by an Initiate by the name of Ross. Time passed slowly for her, and it worsened when her own mother was sent to the cross to be crucified, while her father watched in amusemant.

At the age of three, Ross had began acting strangely. And she wouldn't have cared less if it weren't for one exception. Ross was not here on his own terms, for he had been sent by the NCR for an inside look at whatever was going on. Words of distrust, and rumours spread across the camp until one day, on Astrid's fourth birthday, he began speaking to her in hushed tones. He told her of an escape, paradise, everything you might expect from someone who's free. And by four and a half, they had a solid plan. No one knew why he had such a soft spot for her, especially when his work was far from over, but he did.

When the time came, they went along with everything they had told eachother. And, to her horror, he had no intention on going with her. Ross pointed out which direction to flee, and she did, until she fell upon a small house, nearly miles away. Luckily for her, inside was a friendly old man by the name of Dean. Dean named her, not seeing the harm in it, and went along with the name 'Astrid'. He had read it in a book, and having never had his own children, gave it to the little girl. She loved it. Sadly, Dean only raised her until about the age of sixteen, when he passed away peacefully.

Days passed before she had the nerve to bury him. And afterwards she returned to the house and took up whatever equipment she could find. She had no intention on being a soft little girl anymore. And having not been allowed to use a weapon in Dean's house, she went out and began practicing with the hidden guns under the bed. It wasn't long before she had bottles tamed. Then Rats. Molerats. Gecko's. And the list goes on. And again, like a child, she left the nest in search of something better. What she found was no paradise, instead, a barren hell-hole, inhabited by the worst of the worst.
However, determined to not be the bottom of the food chain.
As she lived out her days, she decided to simply become a courier, and took up the challenge of finding the package she had lost in the proccess.
All the while, avoiding most men, and looking for her dear friend, Ross.

---Ariel is Asian sniper type, light armor and good at lockpick , science, sneaking and guns.

She's helpful to people she meets and generally very nice, she's got this thing about slavery and bullets will fly with no provocation when she meets slavers. She's a bit of a kleptomaniac/packrat, her bed is just piled up with teddy bears and her room is full of collectible (cola trucks, toy cars etc) I think missing a few items from your house is a small price to pay considering all the helps she provides to the needy :)

--- Ti-Paul is a bit different, He is a complete moron but quite a brute. int and cha of 1 (btw I am disappointed I thought there would be much more funny stuff about being an idiot, like in Fallout 2). He's good with unarmed combat, survival and ... well that's basically it. He like ED-E because it doesn't say complicated words.

Unless people are mean to him he basically randomly picks a side when there is a conflict, he doesn't like dogs (because the moron i played in Fallout 2 thought scorpions and mole rats were just mean dogies) so if one side has them there is a chance he won't be friendly. When someone gets upset about him picking up something he usually just punches them, well when anything happens he usually punches them. He is quite curious a will just click anything or set off any trap to see what they do.

PGaither84:I wonder if you are just passing experience from FO3

Barter is not where near useful, or at least after 20 minutes in the game and you have accepted the fact that shinny items in the store isn't so shinny. It could make the game easier in early level, but so as pumping up your combat skills.

Repair, two of the best perk for guns require repair....why not?

Sneak, actually it is more useful in late game after you acquire Silent Running and pick off friendly NPC for loot.

Speech, way better than it ever been in FO. Although some may regard it as "combat skill without weapon but useless outside quests".

Survival, enhancing rather mediocre consumables and related to racist perk do give this skill some place.

Unarmed, it is pretty powerful in New Vegas thanks to new perks, special move and weapons.

Name: Harlow
Gender: Female

When she isn't doing a job for someone like the Mojave Express, Harlow likes to explore the wasteland. She's traveled many miles and met many people, most of whom really like her. Who wouldn't like her? She helps everyone she can and finds it almost impossible to say no when asked for help. She has a heart of gold but not many caps so she scavenges a lot to find things to sell to keep supplied with survival supplies like bullets and stimpaks. While doing a job for the Mojave Express, she made her way to the New Vegas area and after a near-death event from which she recovered thanks to a good doctor, she met someone she felt she could travel with. She made him a promise and they set out to explore the wastes. She prefers energy weapons and he's a sniper so it was a good fit. Harlow doesn't prefer to fight and would rather talk her way through things when possible. If it's not possible and someone turns violent, well, she doesn't lose those kinds of fights, especially with her companion along. She's on a mission now and things are coming together for some kind of big event but she doesn't know what. She just has a feeling it's going to be important...

Perks: Black Widow first. Also Light Step and Animal Friend along the way.

Companion choices:
Boone and ED-E all the way. She promised Boone that they'd fight Legionaries and she's a woman of her word.

Faction Alignment:
Harlow has walked the line with most factions and has found many friends in the NCR because of her companion, Boone. They both hate the Legion because she feels slavery is an abomination of humanity and for Boone, well, it's personal. The Powder Gangers and Fiends just like to kill and destroy so she has no use for them either. She doesn't like it when factions lust for power and talk about being in power. She has met good people in most factions though and will end up doing what she can to help reasonable people come out on top, preferably with many allies to help everyone in the wasteland. It takes everyone working together and compromises must be made for the greater good. Then someday, she'd like to travel to the wastes of New York City to see what she'll find there. She heard it was an amazing place before the Great War. In the end, she's still a lone wanderer at heart.

My main character, Alice, has a lot in common with, and therefore is working on joining, the Brotherhood of Steel. She is a high tech bruiser, basically. Her Tag skills are Melee, Unarmed and Science. I have been keeping all those skills very high, and I've been taking all the good melee perks. Since she is into tech tho, I have a decent rank in Energy Weapons just in case she needs an in-character way to hurt things at range. But so far I've never needed to do anything other than punch. She can even take on Deathclaws. She will probably go Pro-NCR but with an alliance with the BoS if that is possible. Dunno yet.

My new alt is a cowgirl / rifle girl / hunter type. Her name is Matilda. SPECIAL is 7 5 5 1 7 5 9. With implants she will have 8 6 6 1 8 6 10. She is ornery and hard to get along with. She distrusts and opposes some technology. But she is basically decent folk and will help others when push comes to shove. I'm trying to make a very non-min-max build with no special focus on VATS. I'm just taking Traits and Perks that sound like a Cowgirl / Hunter / Rifle type person might take. Built To Destroy. Hunter. Rapid Reload. Shotgun Surgeon. Cowboy. Finesse. Hand Loader. Jury Rigging. Better Criticals. Toughness x2. Silent Running. Quick Draw. Gunslinger. Travel Light. Explorer. I'm not sure what order I'm taking them in but those will be her perks.

Name: Dr. Oliver
Gender: Male
Age: 239
Race: Ghoul

Oliver is a British doctor or at least he was before the great war in 2077. He had moved from England to California some time before the war even broke out. Once the bombs fell he was one of the unlucky (or maybe lucky?) ones who didn't get to move into a vault, he didn't die from the dropping bombs but instead he was mutated into a ghoul. Oliver now wonders the wastes as a traveling doctor aiding humans and ghouls alike and sometimes he gets extra work by being a courier. Oliver is a people ghoul kind of guy, he loves to chat with everyone he meets, he has a way with his words. But after so long of wondering the wastes his mind is starting to slip, he is fighting becoming a feral ghoul, and this shows very much so when he engages into a fight, he will mainly use his fists. Oliver wears light armor so he can get close to people with guns faster while traveling the wastelands but as soon as a town or city comes in site he changes into a nice suit.
