Well, hate to break it to you, but you are actually working for a company that is based in the Mojave Wasteland. They would never do a cross country package delivery. In fact, they are called the "Mojave Express", if I remember correctly.

I'm thinking of filling in the gap like this:

Bad character: After doing all those terrible things, karma finally caugt up with you. A random encounter marked a location, at the edges of the wasteland, on your pipboy of a [temple] inhabted by helpless [monks] where a [..treasure..] is burried/located. He also gives you a potion. He says you need to drink it upon arriving if you want [to be able to see the temple]. When you arrive at the location, you drink the potion. It somehow reminds you of [a burned three called Harold... or another consequence of one of your bad actions] Instead of [seeing the temple], you start to feel dazed. All your skills and stats are being depeleted due to the potion ... you smell a trap. The random encounter, along wiht a band of mercs pop up behind you annd say: " You just couldn't refuse easy pickings , could you?" . They jump you and beat you unconconcious. When you wake up, you find yourself in a desert, stripped from all your belongings. [after a long journey you arrive at a ...]. You decide to take things easy for a while and settle down. You get a job at a courrier company.[..] After getting shot you wake up with no memory, only a vengefull desire to kill...

The things between the brackets still need some improvement. The main idea is that someone hired a band of mercs to take get you as far away as possible from the capital wasteland. (relatives from megaton/ a follower from Harold/whatever). They tricked you into taking something to drain your skills/stats so they would be able to take you on. In the mojave wasteland the experience makes you decidee to take it easy.... untill you lose your memory, but not the desire for wealth&power within you wich is being fueled by revenge.

Don't think so. That has been common knowledge for quite a while now.

Id really like to Roleplay my character from FO3, cause i really like him
as far as i know in the start of the game you arrive as a delivery guy in vegas
wich could work cause ill roleplay i came from DC to deliver the package to vegas
the problems here really are that if im right the NV story is years after the DC story
and my roleplaying might be contradicted if i advance in the storyline and actually have to figure out what was in the package and stuff
anyone else have some ideas for this?

Im doing the exact same thing first time around, im saying that i wanted to travel to the wesy coast, and found new vegas.

This whole delivery company part of the story is news to me, so i'll just say they wanted to deliver a "sensitive package" to whoever, and away i go...

Nah, I ALWAYS roleplay in video games as MYSELF. It would be weird to have two of myself lol.

... You can't roleplay as yourself.
Roleplaying means taking on a role that isn't you.

Well I figure this is what I'm going to role-play for my character. While talking to Protector Casdin my character gets interested in the West coast. He proceeds into Fort Independence and discovers the location of the West Coast BoS the outcasts are trying to communicate with. After failing to find any car my character sets off on foot to the West Coast with Dogmeat. Nearing the West Coast my player is ambushed during his sleep, caught off guard and has everything stolen except one set of armor. During the fight he is knocked unconscious before he can see what happens to Dogmeat (just in case there is another dog companion) so he continues the rest of the journey alone. Upon arriving in the Mojave he takes a job as a courier to get some caps but is shot (like we know), resulting in the lose of his prior experience (perks and skills, etc) earned in the Capital Wasteland.

Here is my full rp, not just scraps lol:

After the mq, the LW grew tired of DC and wanted somethind different. After finding out Casdin was his long lost relative, Casdin asked my char (Alex) if he wanted to go to California with him. Alex agreed and started to get ready.

Alex was famous in the CW and had many friends, so they started a merc group. His tech expert from Russia (he got to the CW on a old airplane) named Vladimir, refurbished an old RV. Alex said his goodbyes, some harder than others. (Sarah Lyons) Right before he left, he got a call from a person who wanted him to deliver a package to Primm, Alex said ok and they would meet in Vegas so that Alex could deliver the package. At Vegas, he and his merch group decided to form a mail company called the Mojave Express.

On the way to deliver the package, Alex got ambushed. Casdin was decapited.. his brother was shot... his merc group retreated.. and Alex was shot and left for dead..........

Wha.............

Roleplay is yes... taking on a role.... but you get to decide who your char is.. what he likes.. his karma, and so on.

I always ask myself.. what if I lived in Tamriel?.. What if I lived in a 50s Post-Apcalyptic World? Then I base my char around me and do what I would have done if I were in the game myself.

So yes... I do roleplay as MYSELF.

Nah, you're still yourself.
In my opinion if you're playing as you wanna play then you're playing as yourself.
And that is not taking on a role that isn't you in my book but whatever.

I'll be playing as myself in the first playthrough.
I'll do what I wanna do.
Not gonna limit myself.
But every playthrough after that is gonna be roleplaying. :)

Or you could go backwards and take your NV character to FO3. Stick with me here. So The Courier finishes the MQ in Vegas and hears about fresh water on the East Coast, and he travels Eastward. But, because of the speed he travels reverses the earths spin he goes back in time, and becomes the LW at birth on the East Coast. Trippy. It's your RP so have fun with it, and it doesn't have to make sense. Just don't ever speak about it out loud.
