She took it all and ran...

When I've had Mjoll with me and I go to the smelter in Whiterun she runs all the way around Warmaiden's to catch up to me and back when I'm done.

Yep, that seems to be the default path for followers. None of them can navigate around the anvil to get from the street to the smelter and back. Altho I had one follower that occasionally ran down to the city gate and came up the path that circles around just inside the walls. Might've have depended on how far into Whiterun the follower got before I turned towards the smelter.

I've learned just to park them in the street outside the shop until I'm done with whatever I'm doing there.

Then maybe he shouldn't have provoked a fight with that giant that I was so successfully hiding us from, lol.

Yeah, they don't have much of a throttle on good sense, do they? ;)

Well, I tend to forget to tell them to follow again and end up Fast Traveling back to get them when I've Fast Traveled to a location. :P

Hmmm, interesting. On my most recent character I dismissed one of my followers and I found him lying dead outside of Whiterun about 5 minutes after I dismissed him. Weird things going on with my game lately aswell.
1 reason why I do NOT allow a follower to travel with me. I don't wanna have to watch out for him/her while fighting. Sure they can carry stuff for you, but I can carry 760 pounds of stuff along.

Argis the Bulwark was stuck in a spot in Blackreach and wouldn't move. I finally Fus Ro Dah'd him back onto the yellow brick road and we went on our way. I'm glad he didn't get hostile when I did it and I think it's a Navmesh issue.

"Navmesh is a collection of polygons that tells an actor where it can walk." :tes:

I only started using Mjoll after I was in the 60s (I never entered Riften until I was over 40 so she's maxed.). I gave her an insanely Legendary Ebony Greatsword and Legendary Falmer Armor improved past the armor cap so she does fine. :P ...but, yeah, I'm of the same attitude as you when I'm on my way up.

same here, i agree it must be a new glitch tied into the latest patch...are you playing on xbox too? i blame the kinect patch

This is my 3rd playthrough, the first 2 i had followers thru alftand with no problem...1 time i used the ethereal shout to shortcut to the bottom of the spiral walkway, leaving uthgerd way behind and she popped up in blackreach awhile later, unbroken

I'll have to test this with mjoll next time, if she vanishes then its definitely a new bug

I think its because they start back out at the beginning of the dungeon, so they have to make their way back to you, had that happen once, I just waited for a bit and the dude came running up to me a while later.
