[RELz] Sickly Skeletons - 5 flavors

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 9:09 pm

@Porscha. Did install AV 1.2.1 today and installed your AV package. It look great !! Thanks for all your hard work. Are there plans for the (near) future to create more AV packages. That would be great as this one is looking great.
Thanks a lot. Yes, I'm working on a lot more AV packages at the moment. I'll give some previews soon. As with the skeletons, I had more planned for them. The current release as is, disappoints me because I had lost some previous work on it that I thought looked better and I kinda went cheap on finishing them the way I had planned; just to get it released. Glad you like them, though. Did you have something in mind?

Your bloody skeleton pix have been removed from imageshack, FYI.
Ah yes, true. I might fix the links. Until then, there is always a great place called TESA! http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/files/file/1112-sickly-skeletons-5-flavors/

@Porscha. In response to your question. I would like to see some more textures of big animals like Mammoths and sabrecats which contain SCARS on their body. They fight a lot in real life but it does not show on the textures created so far. See also my post in the Levi's AV thread.

I assume that just taking the textures out there (with the permission of the authors and add some SCARS) would take considerably less time then to create them from scratch. Maybe the original authors would be interested to do it themself. I know that creating stuff from scratch is FAR more rewarding for yourself.

Apart from that I am VERY GREATFULL for each and every texture you and others are going to produce.

Most of the you don't really/notice see all the different textures (and all the details) when fighting etc. It all feels so natural NOW. BUT when I disabled av.esp for testing the world felt unnatural for me..... THIS is the greatest achievement of AV I think. You feel the difference even if you don't actually see it all the time. Hope that you know what I mean...

It probably takes more time to make textures from scratch than to add on to an existing Vanilla texture I guess, but that's how I like to do it. I've already made some new wool textures for the mammoths, but I didn't think to add scars. It's a good idea and I'll put them as an AV package. Thanks. I've tried to retexture sabres completely and failed miserably. I'm intending to give it another go.

Leviathan is doing a great job with AV and the packages done by a few people here are fantastic indeed.

Most true.

At any rate, I've updated the links in the original post. So they work now.

The last two ones are way too red. It doesn't look like flesh, the red is just too red. Shouldn't it be a bit darker? It sort of looks like a candywrapper. No offense. Good work regardless!

Last two? Hmm. One isn't meant to be flesh. The other is meant to be red and slimy. I'll take what you said in considerations and do better next time.

I'm writing this request at all active AV package creators which create their own excellent textures. As you probably know I'm trying to create examples for AV, including AV package ports, examples etc. Done a bit of research of searched the web. Draugr, skeletons and to a lesser extend sabrecat, wolves, mammoth, giant how all been done. Also AV packages for them exist. What I'm sorely missing are textures for Deers and Elk (only 1 texture for each exist). I will be away for two days but after that I'm gonna make an excell sheet which shows for every NPC how many variants exist for it. Showing which one have lots of variations and which ones don't

In combination with wildlife mods like skytest SkyTEST - Realistic Animals and Predators and Real wildlife which among other things add quite a few packs/herds of Deer and Elk some more Deer and Elk variation would by great and add immersion to Skyrim.

Hence my request. If someone should be looking for an idea for a new AV package (to be created by you) I think those would be GREAT. As said before most animals in Skyrim (prey) look as if they are on this world for the first day, eg NO scars , no blood no dirt on them etc. One would guess that with all those predators out there, they would show some signs of attack.

I'm not pushing for the creation of an AV package. I'm just looking if you perhaps would be interested in doing one for Deers and Elk. Or for other NPC's which do not have much variations at this point.

Already working on animals, including deer/elk. I shot some fantastic captures throughout my adventures and didn't like it when the deer and foxes were low res compared to everything else.

@Porscha. Sound VERY promising. Can't wait to see them in an AV package. BUT no need to haste...

Just stopping by to give you a heads up that AV 1.3 has been released, which has a new package structure.

The current packages will not work until you redo them to the new specifications,
or run them through http://www.mediafire.com/?t3qikbzck04jjdm.

Also, see http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1366265-relwip-automatic-variants-thread-4/page__view__findpost__p__20651061 about the new features this new structure provides.

Let me know if you have any issues. 8) Keep up the good work!

1.5 --- Re-uploaded AV packages to contain the correct folder paths, converted by the AV Package converter. Re-uploaded Calcined versions which are also included in the AV package with slightly modified texture and better normals, so they should appear the way they were meant to.

Tired of skeletons, lol. Releasing my other stuff soon.

@Porscha. Very glad to see that you converted your AV packages. Also very glad to see that you are gonna upload your 'other stuff soon''. Would it be possible for you to tell us what that would be. Very curious, maybe I'm in luck and it contains some wildlife textures......

@Porsch. You are right ;-)
Will be quite now and wait what you come up with. Its good to see that apart from StarX you are still working on AV variants. The other two seem to have discontinued their efforts and/or are working on other stuff. Which they are of course totally entitled to do.....

Here's an odd one. On 2 occasions I've had other creatures get named 'wolf'

So I had two Trolls that i killed that had the title 'wolf' and loot representing that of trolls,

And then a sickly skeleton (pure red) that was also a 'wolf'.... any ideas?

I'm not fully informed about the wolf-naming, but this has been addressed before. Sorry, I don't know. Best if asked in the AV thread.
