Skyrim expansions?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 1:03 pm

I am almost certain there will be 2 expansions as there was on morrowind and oblivion, but does anyone know when they will come out and If they are and what they will be like? Thoughts? Ideas?
Oh and Shivering Isles in oblivion was by far the greatest expansion.

And I want to see Orsinium. So what about this: an old Dwemer city is discovered below the new orc city/stronhold and Dwemer researchers are looking for adventurers to help out in the expedition. An old Dwemer railroad system can than be taken from Skyrim to the mountain in which the Orcs reside. The DLC will include the Orc Capital, small surrounding area and an multilevel underground dungeon. There a a couple of side quests in Orsinium and the main quest deals with the Orc Warlord and his interest in the Dwemer technology.

BTW, I know this si wishful thinking...

that would be quite the expansion. but dont forget the falmer they have to be tied in their somewhere because the dwemer race enslaved them and turned them into those blind creatures.

They will probably have more than 2 expansions. They said that the expansions will work similarly to Fallout 3, only they will take longer time to create them but the expansions will have more content.

Ofcourse, the first level of the dungeon would be a cave but it would quickly lead to the upperparts of the dwemer city and the falmer slave quarters. However these Falmers have never found an exit to the outside world and have been living from the underground Dwemer farms so they are different and a few of them aren't agggressive and can communicate (Dwemer language, which you can learn from one of the researchers).

And it doesn't have to be that big of an expansion. Cities arent that big in TES games, and they can use the style from the Orc Strongholds that are already in Skyrim. The outside area doesnt have to be that big either.

I'm thinking about the size of Point Lookout (Fallout 3 DLC) for the whole DLC, not just the outside area.

I don't want to wait months anticipating just to get 2 hours of playtime. I'd rather something like the Shivering Isle.

I've been thinking of something on the scale of Shivering Isles, where you replay the dwemer past through memories in some artifact, once you have the artifact you can meditate in a safe spot and it puts you in the eyes of one named dwemer and drops you into a whole dwemer controlled world

Even better would be something like Bloodmoon which added a whole new area to the actual map (no loading to a seperate cell).

It was a true expansion, as in, it expanded on the current gameplay: adding new weapons, new quests, new gear, new main quests, a new JOINABLE FACTION, etc.

Of course this was a true ''expansion'' but if we could pick than I'd prefer to see a true expansion on Xbox Live, even if it is 5GB in size...

But first they should do a small DLC pack that includes a barber, because I'd like to alter some of my character's looks (add a scar, change hair, etc).

I think Skyrim is jammed packed already. Maybe they could add new content by using existing npcs and reuse dungeons, but this sounds pretty lame.

First of all, im not paying even 99 cents just for a barber :P so unless its free

also, you would get scars from a barber? Thats like saying I go to a barber so he can cut me, lol much?

For my roleplaying I'd like to add a scar, but there is no 'ingame' way to easily add this, unlike Fallout where they could call it plastic surgery. So they could put it in the barbershop and ignore the fact that it makes little sense that you can add or remove scars. It is purely cosmetic, so it has no effect on the game. I just wish I could change my character based on its situation. My ex-legionair Orc for example, shouldnt look so ''clean'' anymore now that he has gone full barbarian.

they should include more marriable characters in the DLC, like a high elf you can actually marry, more dark elves and some khajiit and bosmer and some other hot chicks.

They would add a new landmass to the current one, not add stuff to the current one.

So for example, they could open up the mountains between Hammerfell and Skyrim and have it include a Redguard settlement. Just a random example.

The key difference between DLC and this idea is that DLC always takes place in a seperate area and as a result feels more like a liniear experience (you experience it in one go) which goes against the idea of Elder Scrolls openworld gameplay. If they add a new area to the map than you can walk through it once, return later and do quests, return again and the main quests, etc.
