Off-topic: Chunky, I noticed how many threads you made recently, so I finally got around to looking at your profile. You have made 58 threads. I have been here a full 8 months longer and only made 24... :tongue:

He fights the good fight.

(And while you can absorb poison/diseases/etc., you won't get Magicka for it)

My solution would be simple, add some more dangerous diseases in with a DLC, just like they did with Oblivion.


If you're on a computer, there's a mod for this. It doesn't add new diseases, but it makes the existing ones more troublesome.

Don't forget to mention trap springers are kind out of place too, if you generally are sneaking or walking/moving semi cautiously you can stop in time to see the traps harmlessly go off in front of you. ;)
I actually like that. It pays off to be aware of where you're stepping, and if you notice in time, you can lure enemies into the traps and spring it on them. It also helps at preventing you from being able to mindlessly walk through them because you triggered it and were out of range by the time it would hit.

The diseases in the game are a joke, they don't effect you in any meaningful way and there are only 7 of the, wtf.

I know with attributes gone (and with most diseases in Oblivion effecting those in some way) there is less to effect but.... hell no in fact why not just effect the perks in some way.

As an example:
Brittle Hand disease - Negates all Archery perk points and their effects until the disease is cured

There could be diseases that effect all the other perks in some way as well, with different degrees of severity.

In fact when the CK comes out this may be the first mod I attempt to do......

More disease would be awesome.
In Oblivion, I hated diseases because if you had infamy you couldn't pray at the chapels to cure you disease. So you had to be lucky to find some cure disease potions, or make some of your own. Diseases were far too annoying in that game.
With Skyrim, those alters to the Divines are everywhere. Curing diseases isn't difficult. This basically fixes the problem with diseases I had with Oblivion. Getting diseases would be annoying, as it should be, but wouldn't make it so you have 10 diseases, are incredibly weakened, and searching for cure disease potions.
As is, there isn't enough diseases for them to even be in the game.
