skyrim is fine as it is

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 11:14 pm

yeah, despite all the people arguing about missing features and improvements i just like Skyrim.
Sure maybe it's not the best RPG, and someone may argue that it's not even an RPG, well let's put it this way:
I like Skyrim for what it is and I love playing it.
It already provided me with more than 400 hours of fun and still going on, there's not many games around that can do that.

Playing Skyrim with some of the mods out there shows that while Vanilla is a good game, it can be even far, far, far, far, far better.

Also complaining about something doesn't mean it is bad.

Hell, fans always complain about stuff they love.

Agreed, there are things I wish that where included or done better but it's my favorite game of all time and I look forward to the many years of playing it.

To not acknowledge ones flaws is to never make progress.
Constructive Criticism is vital to improving oneself or in beth's case, one's franchise.

People talking about changing or adding features doesn't mean they think the game is bad. In fact it's a good sign that they like the game. They want to make it better.

I agree 100%. Best RPG I've ever played. But it's good for the series if people point out some things that could have been better. As long as they do it in a constructive way.

I am satisfied with the content and graphics, but the game falls completely short of pleasing me. This is largely due to how trivial the game is, how shallow combat is, and how limited progression/customization is. I enjoyed all other TES games much more than Skyrim.

maybe, but when someone call a thread "screw you bethesda" (or similars) for arguing, maybe there's something wrong...that goes beyond constructive criticism

The ones that intentionally provoke hostility tend to get closed pretty fast.

Depends on what you consider "fine" to mean, and your personal perspective. I suppose I might say Skyrim is "fine" in that it is playable (usually) and pretty enjoyable, but it could be millions of times better, which is where mods will help out, and there are many ways I have been dissapointed in it.

No game is perfect. Which is why I only buy games that can be, and are, modded. Which are designed to be modded. You know, like Skyrim.

I mean "fine" like "pretty good and enjoyable".
and I think that everything can be millions times better in a perfect world that can't exist.

I also play on 360, I read alot of the Forums/message boards from when I played Oblivion, so I knew that the games were'nt perfect for consoles. I enjoyed Oblivion alot, but I Love Skyrim. Nothing is perfect, everything need's work.

The thing that bothers me about Skyrim is, that the things that bother me the most were better in Oblivion and Morrowind. More NPCs, more guilds (only in Morrowind), longer guild questlines, more spells.

That said, the addition of dual wielding/casting and seperate hands and shouts are awesome enough to somewhat conceal this flaws.

In some instances, it is a mystery to me why it was lacking in certain areas, follow-on logic from previous game development suggests the problem should not be there. In others, I can see evidence of what I percieve to be poor design decisions. For these things, one need not a perfect world to achieve a better game, just a few simple adjustments in developer perspective and allocation.

skyrim isn't even close to being alright, as is.

so many gameplay features have regressed, not advanced or been exiled.

and, needlessly so.

some skills/perks look like they went no further than a single brainstorming session and then didn't test it or flesh it out.

the lack of gameplay toggles for things, such as, hud/settings, auto-regen, etc. is ridiculous.

economy, horses, tradeskills, repetative npc's, the list of very amateur implementation is rampant.

You're wandering around the forums just to say the game is fine as it is. I find criticism more interesting to discuss personally than how it's fine and stop saying it's not. If you're just dismissing everything anyone says, why did you even make this thread?

Then why make a thread on a discussion board if you can't handle discussion?
