Sounds interesting but maybe a bit short
not enough time to develop the characters

making a supposed non linear game into a linear movie is a terrible idea.

It starts off like this: I put in Skyrim and start a new character.

Really why do you want a movie based off of the video game? You know it's going to fail hard. The only way an Elder Scrolls movie can succeeded is by not being based off of a video game.

That would be a very tedious movie, and I think the ES lore is just too silly for a film besides why would you want to watch what the Dragonborn does in a game then in a film?

The game barely develops any characters, dont see why a movie based of it should.

I think the main plotlines of the games could actually make a good film franchise with a bit of re-working
Film 1: Arena
Jauffre (17, thug/swordsman), Ria Silmane (22, dabbles in magic) and Caius Cosades (12, pickpocket of their gang) are a group of street urchins living in the Imperial City Waterfront. Uriel Septim (not sure how old he is at the start of Arena, 35-40?) is in the waterfront one day trying to get some time to himself away from the rigours of being Emporer (in keeping with the lore of Uriel being something of a rebel before his stay in Oblivion). The urchins greet him and are friendly to him mistaking him for a homeless man and offer to let him stay in their hovel. The guards assume the vagabonds are accosting the Emporer and try to arrest them, Uriel stops them and kindly takes the three children in as his wards.

Jauffre shows a talent for swordplay and enters training in the royal guard, Caius gets into trouble a lot for stealing and playing tricks on the guards and is enlisted into the Blades too keep him out of trouble, Ria Silmane attends classes at the Arcane University and shows such talent that Jagar Tharn himself takes her as his apprentice (also in an attempt to gain favor with Uriel). The three maintain a close relationship with the Emporers sons and Uriel himself.

After three years Jauffre (20), now a member of the Bodyguard detatchment of the Blades is asked by Uriel to take a baby to Kvatch by Uriel (reason being his real sons wouldn't understand him having an affair). after Jauffre arrives back in the IC Jagar Tharn committs treason, imprisoning the emporer, killing Ria Silmane when she refuses to help him (much to his anguish, he was in love with Ria for a subplot). He orders his daedra to imprison Caius (15) and Jauffre deep in the dungeons. They escape with Ria's spirits help. They then assemble the parts of the Staff of Chaos over a period of ten years (along the way Caius develops a love of Morrowind and is reluctant to leave, he also ends up in an affair with Mehra Milo of the temple). After infilirating the palaceand killing Tharn Uriel is returned. Jauffre is named the Eternal Champion and Caius is also honoured.

Film 2: Daggerfall
Two years after Arena, Caius (now 27) is angry that he has not been allowed to return to MW and Mehra Milo due to his commitments to the Blades, his fondness for the Dunmer leads to some questioning his loyalty to the Empire. He ends up in a casual relationship with Brisennia (another Blade), but his brash attitude makes him more enemies than friends, notably Chancellor Ocato who he gravely offends with his brash attitude. He tries Skooma on a excursion to the waterfront (to meet his old friends) and ends up addicted, and bursts into a private meeting between Uriel Septim and other leaders. Uriel is extremely angry that Caius is a no good drug addict, and Ocato (without Uriels permission) tells Jauffre that Uriel is going to exile Caius and urges him to tell Caius to leave, as it would break the Emporers heart to exile someone who was like a son to him. Jauffre tells Cauis who confronts Uriel while high on Skooma, he leaves before Uriel can explain and takes a ship to Daggerfall.
His ship crashes in a ruin which he fights his way out of. He then makes his way to Daggerfall where he meets a lot of interesting people (???boringbit). He receives a message from a courier which orders him to go to an inn at a certain date. He goes there and is greeted by Brisennia who tells him Uriel never exiled him, but that since he was in Daggerfall he could help them with a task, and redeem himself before coming home. The events of the Daggerfall MQ take place and the warp of the west occurs.
Caius meets with Lady Brisennia again after the mind [censored] and tells her he can't bear to see Uriel after all he has done, he takes a ship to an unknown destination to explore the world.
Film3: Morrowind
A dunmer is on a prison ship with another dunmer named Jiub. He is released from custody with orders to meet with Caius Cosades, who is now a high ranking Blade on Vvardenfell, Caius sends him on missions to learn about Sixth House cults before revealing that the Empire wants the protaganist (a dunmer) to pretend to be the Nerevarine, but he believes he really is the Nerevarine.
Uriel, who recieves portents that the era is coming to a close and his death will occur in the coming years orders Caius to come home and see him, Caius does so leaving the Nerevarine his possessions.
Nerevarine earns the respect of the Ashlander tribes, and then unites the three houses on Vvardenfell, also meeting with Vivec for battle planning. He assembles an army of Telvanni mages, Guild Mages, Fighters Guilld soldiers, Ashlander warriors and Hlaalu and Redoran soldiers to assault Dagoth Urs Citadel, he does so with a huge army of Dunmer and defeats Dagoth Ur and destroying the heart of Lorkhan.
He is attacked in his sleep during celebrations in Balmora by an assassin due to his refusal to move out of Caiuses home into more secure accomodation, he is told by Bolvyn Venim (head of Redoran), to go to the mainland. Nerevarine is informed in Ebonheart that the mainland has not recieved news that the Blight has ended and that he will not get a ship. He manages to get to the mainland via teleportation.
He discovers that Helseth the king organised his assasination as he was threatened by him, but they end up working together to bring down Almalexia the mad god. Nerevarine ends up in the clockwork city where he kills the mad god and is transported home. He is frustrated that no-one will believe what has happened and catches a ship with some of his closest friends (probably Ashlanders and maybe some low ranking House/Guild members) to Akavir.
Maybe Caius and Mehra get back together and go with Nerevarine explaining his absence in Oblivion.

OR we can not doing anything stupid that would hurt lore or defeat the purpose of choosing who you want to be by saying "nope this is canon, your character is wrong"

Yeah? well up yours too buddy.

It doesn't have to be "canon" I just think it would be a cool adaptation or companion to the games. Thanks for your in depth anolysis and critique though, I'm sure Bethtesda is honoured by your loyalty to the "IT"S A GAME, NO IMMERSION BREAKING CANON RARARARARA" bandwagon.

I'm copying this from other thread

every version of character is different from each other, that's the point of TES quoting Martin become the scribe of the elder scrolls, any even in the game is up to us how we write how we scribe it. Each person is a scribe and each of their scroll is different.

Game questline should remain as it is, a game. Things such as great war, or Rise of Tiber, or novels, or St Allesia rebellion, or even Reman will be okay and even epic if executed right. But not questline it's like taking the rights of us players.

The Lusty Argonian Dragonborn

Scene 1
Int. Helgen. The Naked Rat Inn. General Tullius' private room. Night

Tullius is lying on his bed, his armour has been carelessly flung on the floor. A month old sweet roll sits on his bedside cabinet. A sword is standing upright, having been dug into a large block of chesse. Empty bottles of Colovian Brandy litter the floor. The large book shelf houses only 3 books, all of them being classic works by the late 3rd Era author, Crassius Curio. The dragonborn, a young, green scaled Argonian girl at this time working as a maid in the inn , waddles in the way Argonians are want to do into the Generals room.

Dragonborn: Sir, I am here but to clean your chambers.
General Tullius: Is that all you have come here for, little one? My chambers?
Dragonborn: I have no idea what it is you imply, master. I am but a poor Argonian maid.
General Tullius: So you are, my dumpling. And a good one at that. Such strong legs and shapely tail.
Dragonborn: You embarrass me, sir!
General Tullius: Fear not. You are safe here with me.
Dragonborn: I must finish my cleaning, sir. The mistress will have my head if I do not!
General Tullius: Cleaning, eh? I have something for you. Here, polish my spear.
Dragonborn: But it is huge! It could take me all night!
General Tullius: Plenty of time, my sweet. Plenty of time.

Continue from there. When we have around 90 pages, I (or someone else) can write a conclusion, then we submit it to Bethesda and demand lots of money when it is undoubtedly made into a block buster. With this method of writing, it will catch the rambling quality of how many people play the game (often ignoring the main quest entirely or approaching it in a piecemeal fashion).
