Skyrim - Return of the Blades

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 1:57 am

I feel like much more could be added to the blades. We know from the main questline that the blades have a great enemy - the Thalmor. As you recruit new blades member to revive the faction, you can train them to rank up. Take them on quests, or have a small mini game where you "send" them to a city to help reclaim it from the Thalmor. In this new Expansion pack would be added areas, weapons, options, and story. Bethesda would have so many options with continuing the Blades, as after you speak with Parthanaux, the Blades are seemingly useless. With added dlc, the blades become renewed. Not only the Thalmor would be an enemy, but the Mystic Dawn could also return. For added weapons could be the Dai-katana, maybe throwing projectiles, new spells, shouts (as they created dragonrend, why not others?), mounts, and homes.

Its more of an rp thing.

One u side with a dragon and get a warm fuzzy feeling.
U side with blades, u get an organization of zealous dragonhunters that have vast experience with spying and political intrigue.

Only if I can replace Delphine as Grandmaster or they change their view on All Dragons are evil and must be killed. Seriously, that's just like the vigilant.

I thought they were ok until they asked me to kill my buddy Paarthy and won't talk to me until I do. Childish behavior, if you ask me. I have plenty more field experience of dragons than they, they won't even bother to talk to Paarthurnax themselves and hear his side of the story. They have been searching for a dragonborn to follow, they found one, and then they refuse to listen to me even though I most likely know what I'm talking about.

Idiots.

I agree with you the Blade storyline in Skyrim is lame and underdevelopped . Beth could and should do something about it. The minimum is the ability to recruite new members whom you can take with you on your adventures...

In fact that topic gives me an idea to expand on my personal Companion Mod...hehehehe

You're the Dragonborn. We know you are the Dragonborn; not only have the Greybeards acknowledged you, we tested you ourselves. We know the prophecy says the wheel turns on you (and this is TES, it's not our use of 'the wheel turns', here the wheel is all existence subgradient to Aetheric Godhood), but we don't want to deal with you anymore, unless you do what we say. Oh, really. Good luck with that, and goodbye.

We have told you we are dragonslayers when you first met us. We even told you we followed Tiber septim because he was the ultimate dragonslayer. We have given you all the Intel that you need for facing alduin and if we didnt have it, we showed you the way.
Yes Paarthunax has helped us take down Alduin, so what? Have you been listening to the dragons dragonborn? What do they tell you for their reasons for helping us? Was it out of pity or making amends..lol, no dragonborn they only wanted to use you to take out their leader who they felt shouldnt be ruling them. They care not for our troubles or sorrows, what did Paarthunax tell you? We were only doing as a dovah does. Does that sound like they are on our side, no you were the only one who could weild the weapon that would do the job for them, they could not weild it, only a human.
Again, we told you we were dragonslayers and that we follow dragonslayers, so what is ur reason for not killing a dragon thats neither under ur control but is also out trying to gather an army?
We could not get to him in the past and the emporers forbade us because it would cause a war going thru the greybeards. But you can bypass that war situation and slay the dragon that we cant get to. Whats ur reason for leaving the most powerful dragon alive and not under ur command to go out and freely gather his army?

And as dragonslayers, why should we help you anymore if u are not gonna end the threat of dragons? We know you to be dragonborn hence why we help you fulfill the prophesy against alduin,, nows thats said and done. If you are not gonna be a dragonslayer then we have no cause to follow you anymore and will continue on placing the dragons in the ground without your help if thats the cost of following someone who sides with dragons.

It think if there's any DLC regarding the Blades there should also be a questline for those who didn't kill the dragons.

Maybe somthing about teaching the Dragons the good way, and killing the dragons who won't stop destroying evreything?

What about if I never talked to Delphine or Esbern ever again after Alduins Wall?
Where's the love for us Greybeard supporters? You can't just recruit more Greybeards, they aren't an army.

Well, I can probably find another use for the $10-$15 I would have spent on it. I know full well when to flip the table and walk away from DLC.
Saint Row 3's Penthouse Pet companion DLC, for instance.

Greybeards have therir people, blades got theirs. Matters of opionion.

Its when blades get raged at bc their not bootlickers or ask you to kill a dragon that most believe is a friend or a good guy, and not someone who just uses for their own ends.....

Id rather be used to get a zealous to me organization off the ground than be used to start the realization of a dragon army.

No hate against the greybeards, but u cant actually join them unfortuantly for the greybeards supporters.

The Blades didn't create Dragonrend, and I've seen nothing to indicate that they ever created any shouts at all. I'm not sure there's any record of any non-dragon having created a shout from scratch, except for that one.

And to use any shouts at all, they would first have to be taught how to do it. Not taught a shout, but taught how to shout. The only people with any experience teaching this ability are the Greybeards, and they are NOT going to teach the Blades anything.

Even if there was a way to teach them all, it would take years for it to really amount to anything. Ulfric spent almost a decade studying with the greatest masters of the Thu'um available - and he was handpicked to be their student - but after all that time he only learned two shouts.

I'll take a daikatana and maybe a light armor version of the blades armor.

Rather then spending time with an expansion, they could make thalmor killing radiant quests you get from delphine.

The problem with a Blades-related DLC is the dependency of having to finish the existing Blades-related quests. If you have it as standalone, then that storyline conflicts with the existing Blades-related quests. From a marketing standpoint, it doesn't make sense.

Blades in Skyrim is as lame as B.O.S in Fallout N.V.

You mean Fallout 3?

My problem with the Blades is that they're underdeveloped. They just show up and you're supposed to care about what they think while they give you orders you may not necessarily want to follow, and this just makes them come off as a bunch of unlikeable jackasses.

I'd like more stuff about the Blades if we had the choice to side against them. I want Delphine and Esbern prepared as a feast in the good name of Namira.
