Skyrim is a rip off

When I first played Bethesda's new title, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, I immediately knew Bethesda copied storyline, dialogue, gameplay, and various other content from other video games. Is this the future of gaming? Is this what many people really payed 59 USD for? 59 USD for content that is featured in video games such as Fallout 3, Oblivion, Call of Duty, Halo 2, Command and Conquer Generals, and so on.

I don't think it's a rip off although Blackreach could've been inspired by a certain James Cameron Movie.

What? A video game that bears some resemblance to other video games? No developer would ever do that. Would they?

In case this is actually intended as a topic for discussion, instead of flame-bait, I'll see what happens if it stays open.

There are, depending on how you break it down, a limited number of possible plots. http://www.ipl.org/div/farq/plotFARQ.html Everything copies something at some level. Now EABioware is going to look at Skyrim for ways to improve DA3.

It really isn't the end of the world. Until a company does something like Limbo of the Lost, it really isn't a big issue. http://lotl.wikia.com/wiki/Limbo_of_the_Lost_Wiki and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limbo_of_the_Lost

I am waiting to see if EABioware can actually do something right with dragon Age 3 as they are copying the greatest game series in the world.

James Cameron ripped that off from the Book "Call me Joe" http://www.amazon.com/Call-Collected-Short-Works-Anderson/dp/1886778752 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_Me_Joe

He basically copy-pasta'd it and then hired a team to do all the graphics for him and then said "IT WAS MOI IDEAAAAAAAAAAAA HOYHOYHOY EVURYBUDDY ELSE IZ A LIE!! MINE IDEA MINE MINE MINE ME JAMES CAMERON HURHURHUR"

Hosh posh, Blackreach is undeniably based off the subway tunnels in Fallout 3, and also maybe a bit of Gears of War. Think about it, but underground utopia of creature man things wanting to kill all who live above? Locusts man.

God called, he wants to file for intellectual property infringement on "real life" that those games have clearly ripped off.

An interesting challenge for anyone reading the thread: come up with a completely original idea

...there are no more, one can only update, change or add-to existing ideas enough to make it "your own", but it will still always have a root in something you have already experienced

We all have one completely new idea at one moment in our life. This moment is the moment of our individual births. Sadly we all forget what that moment of triumph is as we get older.

There are still orginal ideas out there. My name is original I made it up myself. Some of the designs I do are original. I don't post everything online though. I'm sure there are games with original ideas too, they may not have the best graphics compared to the bigger games.

Just like in the Fashion world the Gaming world tends to copy off itself. Plus alot of the designers in the "high seat positions" are men. Even in the fashion world. So rather than branch out into new designs most just stick with the old designs, Men's shirts pretty much havn't changed at all since the 1940's and your suit and tie thingies have pretty much been the same since the 1800's. Women's clothing gets the most design because women tend to be the ones shopping the most. However these days everything is so skin-tight and skimpy ((even for little elementary girls)) because a vast majority of guys are self-centered balless and think all females are six slaves to them which is why designs favor a skin time scampy look to them. Simalar with games.

There are alot of female gamers, more so today than their were in the past. Myself I grew up with Nintendo Entertainment System and I still have the Nes SNES and orginal gameboy today. However men tend to design for boys in that there is going to be alot of headshot kills, lots of fighting, skimpy women clothing that is supposed to protect them somehow while magically staying on.

I'm sure Bethesda can do many original stuff, just right now they are on the borderline of becoming lazy and complacent. Wispmother is a good addition, wisps have been used before though. More than one deity/god so they're not focussed on just one. Heck Bethesda in their Elder Scroll game has even given women CLOTHES and the most reveiling clothing is the Tavern clothes which sadly compared to the vast majority of fine/noble clothing looks better. I miss the Black Finery of the Shivering Isles and even the Black and gold outfit of Cyrodil but at least the guys of Skyrim get a taste of what wearing skirts and dresses feels like now.

Heck Bethesda has made new languages. The last game I played where a new language was created was Final Fantasy 10 with the Al-bhed or however you prounounce that. Bethesda has created Ayleid/ Dunmer/ Khajiit/ Sload/ Dwemer/ Falmer/ and even Dovah languages. You have to give them credit for that.

Women are skyrim are for mens viewing pleasure, and the men in skyrim are for men and women's viewing pleasure. Just look at all that hair.

More guys need to look like Farkas.......seriously........ and less like super-obese guys that think all the hot shallow cheerleaders are theirs. I rather enjoy the models, provided they aren't in fine clothing or noble clothing or even emperor's clothing. I can design better I havn't added these designs to the internet yet as I haven't settled on a color because there are so many "noble" "royal" colors I can choose from but still make it work with all the fur. I have added snow sabre fur and also pheasant birds into the design. Need to make a man version though.

In all fairness men are harder to design than women. Women operate on curves men on blocks and it's hard to get a male design that says "masculine" "gorgeous" and "I have balls don't even think to mess with me" without promoting your shoulders and giving your face and neck more of a pronounced look as well as the general arm fitting for sleeves.

My name is original I made it up myself.

"uno" means "one" in Spanish. Kitsune is a fox spirit in japanese mythos - you might think it's original, but someone has already used the words that make up your own name ;)
