J.R.R. Tolkien invented his own original series of novels in the 1930s, with ideas taken from Sir Gawain and the Green Night and other old tales from the days of old, but only as inspiration. He invented his own language, his own world, his own characters, and his own monsters. I cannot see why this can't happen again. The human mind is an amazing entity, I guess people aren't being payed enough to think of anything original. Or people are too worried about themselves because they're suffering in these hard economic times.

Bethesda invented their own world (Nirn, Tamriel etc.), their own language (Dragon Language among many others), their own characters (Every character in the entire game), their own monsters (Spriggans, Wisps and Wispmothers, Atronaches, Hagravens, etc.). Perks ripped off from Cod 4? WTF man, they are entirely different. Besides, some of the dungeon crawls are pretty long, especially at a lower level (I'm looking at your Aftland) and they all look original. Oblivion's dungeons were pretty much cut and paste. Oh, it takes stuff from Norse mythology, THERE IS NO FANTASY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD THAT DIDN'T TAKE STUFF FROM MYTHOLOGY. Every game, book etc. was inspired by something before it, Tolkien took inspiration from many different myths and legends, does that mean his books are rip offs? Shut up and get out.

You obtained 81 hours of usage from a product that you did not spend money on, yet complain constantly.

That would be like if a hobo was given sixty dollars worth of food by some charaitable folks, ate most of it (if not all), then proceeded to cretique the creative process of the man who prepared the food.

No. Gearbox took up Duke Nukem Forever about a year and a half before it's actual release. 3D realms just never got around to ever doing anything with it, but just said it was in development when it really wasn't.
Actually, the content in the game demonstrates that it's been in development all twelve years. Otherwise, we wouldn't end up with the History of the FPS Genre in that game.

Sometimes, when I hear all the praise being cast on Skyrim, I'm wondering if I'm playing the same game.
Sorry ladies and gentlemen, but to me, Skyrim is a bundle of dissapointments, and will be the last TES game I ever buy.

I wasnt looking for Morrowind 2.0, but I was looking for an elder scrolls game, and Skyrim is anything but.
Skyrim is an imposter, claiming to be an RPG, but its actually linear, un-interesting, and an action game.

Skyrim's story is a shriveled core of mediocrity. They removed the dialouge and subtitles for some strange reason that I cant seem to fathom. Because of this, every character now needs to speak to you for thirty minutes in order for any story to develop at all.

I used to be able to read the subtitles faster then the always-out of breath and slow-talking imbeciles of Oblivion, but now, I need to listen to NPC's for ten minutes at a time, and if I skip even one section of the voice-acting, I miss the story.

Everyone hails the quests in Skyrim, calling them much more interesting, and the dungeons better designed. Again, am I even playing the same game?
The quests in Skyrim are SO BADLY DESIGNED, they needed to make practically a third of all NPC's essential. Because of this, not one quest in this game can be falied. In Morrowind, you ran the risk of failing every quest, therefore adding replay-ability.

If they had correctly labeled the game as Action, I wouldnt be mad.
If they had correctly called the game "Skyrim", and not "The Elder Scrolls, Skyrim" I wouldnt be mad.
But because of this, I have no choice but to give the game 5/10.
Hmm... not sure what game you're playing. Mine is an awesome game that has displaced Daggerfall as the pinnacle of TES.

I said I borrowed it from a friend for the 360. Another friend of mine is a PC gamer so he provided the footage that I needed.

The point of this thread to to share my opinion and to get the opinion of players who have played all three games.

well, in fairness to the OP, he cant be blamed for not playing ones when he was 5 since he's obviously a little kid. Then again, just him thinking Morrowind was some uniquie game is pretty funny too. Morrowind was awesome because it did something just better than previous attempts already did in the past.

I respect your opinion whole-heartedly. Why can't we create our own mythology in these modern times? There is a perk in MW2 that makes you silent, there is a perk in skyrim that also makes you silent when walking. Some of the dungeon crawls are long yes, but only the first 2 or 3 you have to do in the main quest. Dragon Language is too simple to even count it as a language. There is no parallel structure, accusatives, or pronouns in the dragon language. Tolkien's language of the elves has all of these.

My close post indicated that you shouldn't do a continuation of the topic, so I am going to close this one. The title alone is flamebait, and the last thread had quite a few problems. This one is not any better.
