Skyrim is SOO much better than oblivion.

A tad unfair quoting the SI when Skyrim hasn`t had a chance to do an addon yet. But still I don`t think Oblivion was better. Oblivion was made for children. It was more svcky-sweet than marsh-mallow dipped in honey. Not true to lore at all.

Not true to lore eh?

Made for childern?

Only thing I can to that is..........

For me this is the best game i have ever played.

It`s simply the way i wanted Oblivion to be, i loved Oblivion but hated the damn leveling system.

Now we have this stunning game to play as well as upcoming DLC, simply amazing.

Oblivion wins in 1 category: music. And that's not saying skyrim's isn't great, oblivious was just the best I've ever heard in my life and went PERFECTLY with the game.

Of course it is better... But then it should be since Oblivion was released 6+ years ago...

Skyrim is great, but it could have been awsome.

Right now I don't think Skyrim is better than Oblivion, it's better in some aspects but not overall.

I'll wait for all the Skyrim DLC to be released before I make a final judgment.

Of course Skyrim is much better than Oblivion (without mods).
It's pointless to compare a fresh new game with an old game.
Actually, many features which players compliment in Skyrim are inspired by mods from Oblivion.
For example: Brutal finish action, companion, craft system, etc.
That's why most PC players are not STUNNED by Skyrim, while many console players think Skyrim is PERFECT.

hence why heavy modders are [censored] who take it up the ass

Bethesda basically took the best things from Morrowind and Oblivion and made Skyrim from it.

But left the good stories behind.

agree 100%, wasn't really big on TES series before skyrim, skyrims so good it's made me interested in the history of other games.

But left the good stories behind.

Morrowind story and plotlines are somewhat overrated, Oblivions were bland but not as terrible as people make it out to be.

That said, I would still go back and replay Morrowind, but Im never touching Oblivion ever again.

Really?! I loved Oblivion Main Story and the Guild Quests were really well done. But, meh, to each their own.

I have to disagree with the whole "you're not the hero in oblivion" thing...If you werent the hero, martin never would have made it out of kvatch....he would never have been able to crack the mystery of the mythic damn...he never would have been able to obtain a daedric artifact for opening the portal to "paradise"...he never would have survived bruma...

The player does all those things, and is remembered as "The Hero of Kvatch, The Savior of Bruma, The Champion of Cyrodiil"....id say thats a heroic character.

that I can agree with. Once I downloaded Mannimarco revisited to make the boss more awesome, the mages guild was by far my favorite questline in any TES game to date

I'm going to shock the average TES player by saying that I've never cared about the writing or questlines whatsoever. I appreciated them, but only once.

What I liked the most about Morrowind and Oblivion was combining 'big open world' with 'superhuman running and jumping.' With what good those games' gameplay elements already had to offer, adding THAT to it was the main reason I kept playing for years after their release.

I'll take Skyrim for what it is and appreciate what new it brings to the table, but out of all the things that it removed, my most-missed is being able to feel as 'super' in physical feats as I was 'technically' in numbers on an attriubtes and skills screen.

Athletics and Acrobatics were AWESOME, Scout was an amazing default class that had both. The only other default class i liked was spellsword.

Yes! There are no base attributes being affected but I can forgive the lack of a speed counter as there is the sprint option available.

As for the quest lines I hate Skyrim's main quest because you are just thrown in right at the beginning as knowing you're the best person in Skyrim and must save it, even when you try to sign up to pick a side in the war you must find out you are Dovahkiin first! Even worse everyone knows this and does not shut up about the Dovahkiin, unless you join the Companions where they ask you if you fetch the mead.

In Oblivion it was better because I did not feel like I was the center of Cyrodil until I actually became the Champion of Cyrodil!
