Skyrim spits in the face for Ps3 users.

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 6:59 am

Not only is Skyrim preforming the worse on the the PS3 then any other system we get the DLC a month later as well. Bethesda should give us the DLC first for all the [censored] broken we have with the game :(
Why is Bethesda but buddies with Xbox, how much did xbox pay to have every advantage?

Actually, Bethesda has to pay Microsoft. M$ looses money on every Xbox sold. They make it up by charging developers a license fee. As for why would Bethesda/ZeniMax still be all up Microsoft's butt after being charged to even make an Xbox game? Probably something to do with the fact that Skyrim made an estimated 450 million in it's first week, and most of those sales were for...wait for it....wait for it....Xbox.

EDIT: Oh yeah, also forgot to mention that Skyrim also sold well on the PC, which runs Windows, which is made by.....

tl;dr Bethesda knows who butters their bread.

If they release a DLC for PS3 first, you'll have more problems with lag.
:)

I believe it's better to wait a little bit, isn't it?

The problem im having now is that im 30+ hours in the game and every 2 hours or so the framesrate drops and i have to take a 2-3 hour break every 2-3 hours :(

Sounds healthy actually. Sitting in one place for much longer than an hour without getting up to walk around increases your risk for deep vein thrombosis, which can lead to a heart attack, stroke, or pulmonary embolism. Obviously Bethesda has your health and well-being in mind.

Also, I bet the contract reduces or eliminates certification fees for digital distribution of patches for Xbox.

Sony made the PS3 faulty, not beth.
False. Beth was to lazy to make a proper engine. If the PS3 was faulty, how come I can play every other game just fine?

You do realise that any future dlc will almost certainly make any lag/framerate issues 10x worse than they currently are on the PS3.
Just look at New Vegas, the dlc for that made the game unplayable on the PS3 because of the lag it brought with it.

I've had no serious problems on my PS3 - just a few minor glitches...

Same here. I don't know why people bother to reply to these threads really. The guy joined up today and immediately starts posting about how bad the ps3 version svcks? . why?

Possibly he joined today because he was tired of having problems. Therefore he decided to go to the Bethesda/skyrim website to see if he could find a solution to his problem....he then discovered that ther were a million- billion posts to sift through and decided that posting his own question was the easiest way to see if there was any good feedback that would help him......Give the kid a break guys....EVERY forum I have ever been on is 20 to 30% valid posts (counting Repeated topics by various people) and 70 to 80% Bitc#fest...YOU KNOW THIS MAAAAN....there is no need to rag on the poor guy.

I used to spit in Bethesda's face, and then I took an arrow to the knee.

Seriously, though, I've resigned myself to a lesser experience on this system in general. I gots Blu-Ray, and...um, stuff.

Did Ob have DLC for PS3?

1st Bold - PC gets it late too, so sorry, but you'll have to deal with it.

2nd Bold - So instead of Microsoft making a deal with Bethesda for early DLC, Sony should get it because of lag & bugs?

My game is unplayable on Xbox due to backwards dragons, and no resistances

No Akataras, you're not the only one. I too am a ps3 user who has had no major problems. I also have a pretty clean hard drive too, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Off course youll hear from the people with problems, because theyre the squeeky wheel gettin the grease. Notice how a lot of people make statements like "not playing until its fixed" without any examples of problems they themselves have had. Theres a lot of nerd rage based on what people are reading about, not what they are experiencing.

To the OP: I'm not a console user but if I recall, the Xbox has a 512mb internal memory unit and PS3 has only 256mb. That's why Skyrim, it appears, performs poorly in PS3.

Actually they both have the same. the difference is the 360 is 1 512mb and PS3's is 2x256mb.

To the th OP: Thanks for this very enlightening thread.

It's funny how he complains about glitchs yet every system has had problems plus if X box has problems with the first Dlc it will be fixed before it's released on the ps3 and pc so your really [censored]ing about nothing.

I see. I read in an article, btw, that one of the reason it was lagging is because the PS3 has the 512mb memory partitioned in two, while the Xbox 512mb memory is all in one place.( I think this bit came from the ps3 forum here at Beth)

Yeah, learned that one with Fallout. I haven't any serious problems withe Skyrim, but dubious about the DLC.

Get over yourself. The DLC has nothing to do with 'spitting in your face' as a PS3 user. Holy, way to sensationalize everything. It merely has to do with a contract with Microsoft. Xbox users makes up the majority of users playing the game, and Microsoft wanted to ensure it stays that way. This is what businesses do - including Bethesda. They are not a charity, they do things in the best interest of their company.

Some of the people on these forums are just down-right ridiculous.
Paying off a developer to keep content that is ready away from other customers is a pretty shady business practice no matter which way you slice it. Microsoft does it because they don't have a large amount of legitimate first party content to throw around anymore. This was particularly shady with Fallout 3 because, as I recall, a statement was released that said the DLC was never coming to the PS3. Then it did almost a year later.

Luckily it doesn't happen with entire games like it used to like with ME and Bioshock...

I play games on my PC and keep my PS3 as a blu ray player and that is it. I used to attempt to play games on it but I noticed that the PS3 version of almost all multi platform games straight out svcks. I used to get mad and curse the developers for making a crappy game but It slowly became obvious that it's not their fault, It's Sony's. Sony made a crappy video game console. Developers continually say that it's a pain in the rear to develop for, Maybe its true.

I know for sure that the only time a game is worth playing on it is when it's an exclusive and even then all of the exclusives are pathetically short. Like god of war, uncharted and heavy rain. All of em are finish able in one day and have no replay value. Not really worth it. All the other games that have a 360 version looks and runs better on the 360. No matter how better the PS3 may or may not be, the games obviously do not reflect it. Long time lover of Playstation since the day the first one came out, but I came to grasp with the fact that Sony screwed up with the PS3.

Anyone that bought Skyrim for PS3 either should have known better or simply wasn't paying much attention. Every Bethesda game released on the PS3 has had serious issues, Why in the world would you think Skyrim would be any different?

I had very little issues with Oblivion and I'm not having any big issues with Skyrim (barring the resistance issue). :disguise:

I think it's nice that we will be getting the DLC only after it's been played and the bugs are fixed (hopefully). If they gave it to us when they did everyone else you would just be on here complaining that they gave us a broken DLC on top of a broken game. Now you will be getting it after both the game itself and the DLC are fixed....win win for PS3 users IMO.

What? I'm on the PC and all I got was a pretty awesome game (and some bugs), but the Ps3 gets a version that spits? That's like taking interactivity to a whole other level. How come PC and 360 users aren't entitled to this new tech? It's an outrag... oh, oh I see. I'm so sorry.
