Skyrim Undersea Adventures!

There are a bunch of underwater shipwrecks in this game. I won't give any info away, so take the time to explore.

As I stated in another thread, I would love to visit the Castles of Glass and Coral of the Dreughs.

Since I am lazy, I copy and paste here part of what I wrote somewhere else :

I think that the Sea of Ghosts could be a great place for new content. I would love to be given the opportunity to use boats to travel on it. New environmental dangers could be encountered : wrecking storms, wrecking icebergs, fast-growing brinicles, hazardous reefs, maelstroms, underwater volcanoes, ...

Among the new places that can be added with a DLC, there are Roscrea, Solstheim and the Castles of Glass and Coral of the Dreughs.

Dreughs have always fascinated me. With the withdrawal of Vivec's power, one can think a major impediment to the recovery of their lost civilization is now gone. Obviously, a recovery of their lost power could have heavy consequences on shipping, and thus on trade and politics. No doubt it could be used to build a nice storyline. They could be a threat, as well as they could be interested in tying up commercial agreement to sell their own stuff.

Many new creatures could be added through such a DLC, among which underwater Dragons, electric slaughterfish, narwhals, krakens, Lamiae, Medusae, Dreughs, ...

Among these new creatures, many are of the NPC type, (in fact, the ones I wrote with a capital letter), which means that they could have their own society, hierarchy, culture, religion, architecture, arts and crafts, leading hence to new lore pieces, new clothing and armor sets, new weapons, new artifacts, possibly even new spells.

Among the new creatures added, one could also count the clockwork dreughs, which are amphibious counterparts to the Dwemer war machines built by Sotha Sil when he lived in the Castles of Glass and Coral, and weresharks.

New "ores" could also be added, for example mother-of-pearl, cold-water coral.

Many new factions could be added through this DLC, each with its questline, clothing, armor and weapon set and its historical background. Among those, various fleets (military ones, but also pirats or traders's), some Seafarer's guild sponsored by Haafingar,

Moreover, since Sotha Sil once lived in the Castles of Glass and Coral, is it totally crazy to assume some remnants of the Sotha House, thought to be destroyed, could have survived underwater ?

I was actually quite disappointed when I was exploring the northern coastline and came to the realisation that the biggest danger in the water was a slaughterfish...

...looking out at the landscape, I couldn't help but think a Leviathon would just fit right into the feel of the game, especially when sea monsters go hand in hand with that Nord feel.

bumping this thread, because not enough people appreciate sea-life.
Because there is hardly any aside from a few sunken ships.

I hate underwater levels in all video games. Started with Super Mario Brothers.

I want to find more sunken ships.
THIS! and maybe a completely underwater dungeon or cave.

EDIT: Bethesda really needs to bring back underwater combat.

Especially with the ice bergs, they really did miss a trick.

I think the idea of having more sea-monsters and underwater exploration would be awesome. While on a quest where I was searching for something underwater the whole time I was following a rabbit who was walking under water, but not on the ground under the water, but walking through an invisible layer. It was pretty funny.

Whenever there is any water and I want to go down to a sunken ship I usually get too interested hoping there is something amazing and drown hehe ;)

Well if you could fight underwater, water breathing was a non issue, and my bow would work under water - I would have no issue with this. The unfortunate thing however is that most of the time underwater levels and such svck as they try to apply rulesets with it that make fighting underwater annoying.

Have you ever tried to jump on a dragon and smash it's face in with an ax?

This was one thing I was hoping for.... more use for being underwater. Something that adds a unique twist to being an Argonian (or investing in waterbreathing) And I am not just talking shipwrecks.. I am talking underwater caves. Maybe some above ground caves where the end has deep bodies of water with extra loot at the bottom or through claustrophobic underwater caves. Also certain buildings that have secret entrances through moats, waterways, to bypass patrolling guards, ect. Also a few easter egg areas only accessible by traversing underwater.

I've found a couple of ruins underwater, however they didn't have any doors. Real missed opportunity there, but the relatively short duration of Waterbreathing spells means that anyone not an Argonian would have a hell of a time exploring such a place. There's also the fact that you can't do anything other than get out of the water when a Slaughterfish starts chewing on you, which I found rather annoying since previous games at least let you use Touch spells or one-handed weapons on them (I always carried a dagger for just that reason).

Thats physically possible though in real life, jumping is valid and swinging an axe (note the spelling) is valid.

Personally I'm glad they didn't pay too much attention to it. I hate underwater stuff in every game and it would have come at a cost of normal areas. But that's just a personal preference, nothing more.

I agree that there needs to be more sea life and a way to kill it. I want to make a fisherman character and name him Gorton. (Also would be cool to be able to equip fish like daggers like you can on WoW).
