Skyrim is way to easy!

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 11:00 am

Skyrim is graphically outstanding but imo its a very shallow and very easy game, my main is a stealth archer and have no problems killing anything I come up against usually in 1 or 2 shots, I've started other characters but it just gets tedious doing the same stuff over and over again. Decided 2 quit now, may look at it again in a year or so when some decent mods are out but until then its off my hd as I find there is no challenge whatsoever in the game.

Try bumping your difficulty up and not smithing your weapons.

Try playing without sneak+archery, no abusing smithing/enchanting/alchemy, and as a mage or spellsword with no armour. Tell me Deathlord archers are easy then.

Wrong. You are supposed to "play as you want to play".

I use 3. Light armor, 1Handed and restoration.

Any extra perks I save for later.

Telling him to gimp himself in order to have a challenge only proves his point that it is to easy. the player shouldnt have to gimp himself looking for challenge, the game should provide it.

No the game should allow anybody to play how they want. If I want to play as a god then I should be able to do so. If I want to be an archer and nothing else then I should be able to do that, and if a want to be a spell wielding arrow shooting mace hitting Orc then I should be able to do that as well. Don't blame the game if the character you play becomes to powerful simply because you are unable to limit yourself.

Set difficulty to master, wear clothes not armor, use only fists and iron daggers, don't put any points into health or stamina, don't chose any perks, and just for fun greet everyone by punching them in the face.

Still to easy?

This game is what you make it. If it gets too easy, up the difficulty or limit yourself more.

Being a stealth archer was the first mistake, if the o.p. doesn't like the game being too easy.

If your character is basically a sniper, what do you expect? One shot kills should be common.

Of course, but still remains the fact that the game is to easy  Even when limiting yourself, its an ES game feature, Morrowind was easy, Oblivion was easy, Skyrim is easy. The cure from learning the game, to knowing the game making it easy is to low.
No matter what kind of toon you play, once you got perks going, gear and levels you just walk trough everything, some a bit slower then others but still a walk in the park. Just like Oblivion, this will need some serious modding. Way tougher mobs and more of em and less loot, so it isnt easy to get the enchants you need.
The enchant system now is one of the best in ES, problem is, theres to much enchanted gear around, if it becomes a rarity to find enchanted gear it would already be a step towards making it harder.

Dragons can be tough, at least at the levels when new dragons spawn. Like, the first Frost or Elder Dragon. Get too close, and they'll suddenly eat you, even at full health.

But other than the dragons, yeah, the game is pretty easy.

With Tytanis installed, I have it on easy and I'm having a difficult time at level 1 just to get the Dragonstone. Fighting a Dragon Priest instead of the normal Draguar! Just get Tytanis if you want a challenge.

saying a game is easy shows how limited your play style is.

I died a lot with an archer stealth illusionist playing on master difficulty. After getting "master of mind", and turning to vampire, the game became easier, but not trivial, well, shouldnt i expect that? But i didnt take perks in stealth over the sneak level i needed.

The only character that makes me think that the game was too easy was the one with a lot of enchanting perks. I started two characters in master, melee fighters, and gave up, cause i just couldnt survive. Then i started another with more health and smithing perks, a way better, but the game is still hard.

Yesterday i played my vampire character again, then... feeling too powerfull, didnt go stealth in a dungeon, got one hit and died.

Exactly my point of view. ESPECIALLY on Master - my first character was to be an archer with 2 daggers, sneak, light armour and smithing as his other skills. (5 perk trees I'm investing in, for whoever said that) and by the time I was level 20(I didn't start smithing straight away) I was in full Legendary Dragon armour, with Krosis as my helm (Legendary as well). I had a Legendary Daedric bow, Daedric arrows (arrow smithing mod) and 2 Legendary Daedric daggers. It was so easy that it wasn't possible to die, I would one shot anything with 15x sneak damage with my dagger, and I could use my bow on boss enemies that were harder to sneak up to, and kill them practicly before they got to me.

And yes, on master.

To have 100 crafting at level 20, is just about 7 or 8 levels on smithing alone. There is no feasable way to do that unless you spam smithing. You were the one that likely created dozens of Iron daggers and sold them just to buy material to make more and then sell them again. This is hardly the game's fault, and if then later on you won't find a challenge in it, then that's not the games fault either.

Change your formula, smith when you need to, use other weapons then a bow, invest in speechcraft or minor skills that offer useful perks as well. Don't blame the game for being to easy when you concentrate entirely on just a few aspects.

If they made the Skyrim so it wasn't safe to leave Riverwood until you'd spammed smithing and you were in full legendary Daedric armour, the game would flop.

Someone broke their toy and is complaining that the company didn't make a toy that was unbreakable. This is the state we're in today... no one can accept fault. BTW... It's all too easy to spell "too" correctly.
