Soda Problem?

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 4:16 pm

I am not overweight or anything, but i think i drink too much soda. I ALWAYS have at least one a day and have 2 a lot of the time. And when i drink alcohol i mix with soda sometimes which can be like 4-5 in one day.

How unhealthy is this? I am young now but when im older is it going to cause me to be mroe unhealthy? I am definitley addicted.

A soda a day is unhealthy. I haven't had a soda in months and I already feel a lot better.

I drink one can a day at maximum. And only if there's one already in the fridge, because I don't care for the stuff enough to buy more or walk ten feet to restock.

If you're worried, get diet and caffeine free pop.

If you're nervous about how much soda you're drinking, you're probably in a good place. One or two cans shouldn't be too bad.

One or two cans doesn't sound like too much. But my opinion isn't worth much since I usually drink around 32 ounces a day (give or take 10 ounces), and a can is only 12 ounces.

I rarely drink soda anymore but I use to drink root-beer constantly. I would say its been a little over a year since I've stopped drinking soda often. Any amount of it isn't healthy as far as I know especially a can a day. Plus its much cheaper to drink water and cheaper always means healthier right?

My consumption of soda has skyrocketed since I began playing New Vegas, mainly root beer.

I mean if it's such a good health potion in Fallout, root beer has to be good in real life.

Also I collect bottle caps now.

You might want to try tea.

I don't drink soda that often, but I do have a HUGE problem with sweet tea. So I do know where you're coming from.

I have 1-2 cans of pop a day, and have been doing so for about 2 years now. Haven't gained weight, still no teeth issues, or any other negative effects. As long as you maintain a decent lifestyle a few things like pop won't hurt.

There better not be soda in those glasses :P

I drink a lot of soda too (and sweet tea) but I don't feel any effect on my health. Sure it's a lot of sugar, but I like it.

I drink a lot of soda, 4 cans a day usually. But I dislike tea and I work nights so the caffeine helps a little bit. That and I'm pretty much addicted to it. I can drop down to 2 a day or even just 1 at work, but I'd always need just one for a while. It helps to drink it with a straw and also throw in a couple bottles of water a day and some other sources of fluids as well.

I drink a can of Irn-Bru, Coke or Pepsi everyday, its only as unhealthy as you are.
I hate how everything is "bad" for us, but yet they don't remove it from us, can't be that bad then.
The only problem with fizzy drink/chocolates etc is the person using them.

Change to water if you think your "addicted" to...soda
Since water is the most natural and healthy drink for you that should squish your fears of being old and unhealthy.

Through highschool I drank around 2 - 3 cans a day, never had any teeth problems or weight issues. It's the person, not what they're consuming. Now I live away from home for Uni, I find I don't drink it at all - If you're worried about it, make it so that it is unavailable to you and drink water instead.

I can't really get into coffee, so soda is my caffeine producer.

Try energy drinks, 1000x worse for you then soda, has a decent amount of caffeine, and tastes infinitely times better than coffee

A few years ago I worked in a restaurant, and I was drinking several glasses of soda a day. I never had problems with my teeth before that, but I ended up getting four cavities in one year. So, I completely stopped drinking any carbonated beverages...haven't had a single one in 9 years, and haven't had any more problems. If you're considering stopping, it gets a lot easier as time goes on...eventually you get to the point where you really don't find soda appealing. Also, sweet tea is a good alternative because even though it has sugar, it isn't nearly as corrosive as soda.

Because that would require raising humans for the purpose of milk production, and force-feeding them hormones so they'll produce milk year-round.

But by having to force feed them to keep milk production up that would mean milk isn't meant to be drank after childhood.
Strange how humans would deciede to squeeze a cow/goats teet and drink from them.

I agree, it's really weird. Makes me wonder at what point in history we started doing it and why...

I only drink fizzy drinks when I'm out somewhere, pretty much never have them at home. At Uni last year I had periods where I drank 2 red bulls a day which was definitely not healthy. I've got a friend who drinks 4 or 5 bottles of Lucozade today, plus a few cans or Dr. Pepper or Coke. I don't know how he still has teeth.
