I actually dont want horse mounted combat. What i do want is FIRST PERSON VIEW back!!! And the ability to pick/harvest the foliage and to be able to talk whilst sitting atop my steed. That... Seriously... Should not have been taken out. For reals...

Wait... I wouldnt mind the ability to shoot arrows from my stalion... That would be nice...

Oh, and... I hope to god im not the only one who would loOoOoOoOoooovvveee a pouch or knapsack attached to my saddle... C'mon... Why wasnt this thought of?!

P.s. I still love you bethesda.

You don't want horse mounted combat, yet you want to be able to shoot a bow atop your horse?

Yeah I don't get that, that would be harder to perform than attacking with a sword, but I agree with him on everything else.

Yeah with the limited space, tons of foliage and lousy horse controls horse archery would be a hassle. Hell any form of horse combat would be hard to perform.

I do like the idea of having pouches on the horse though, it would give you a place to store all the stuff you picked up on the way to the dungeon, before entering the dungeon. Or just a place to keep extra everyday supplies or something.

I'd probably end up shooting my horse in the head by accident lol

If you want horse combat then you should play Mount&Blade. Better fights you will get nowhere else.

If Skyrim would have such a combat system then it would be a dream.

Yes, yes, i realize i contradicted myself... Hence the... "Wait..."

But in all honesty, swinging a sword is terrible. But to gallop up to an area, see a bear in the distance, stop, draw your bow and down the beast.. Idk.. It looks awesome in my head... Then again i would probably shoot the horse in the head too.. But i really wasnt considering close quarters archery... Just long range... Hmm... Oh well...

Gimme those damn saddle bags though!

Lol. Mine would end up flying because I hit a small terrain bump while aiming on horseback.

.

I love that game. Skyrim's gonna need more wide and flat spaces for that.

I want to be able to beat dragons to death with raw chickens. Bethesda are lazy, and are t3h svck because they didn't make the game exactly how I want it.

It would just be good ot dismount/remount at a resonable speed.

Seriously, a sarbe cat it attacking me and Im calming stepping off the horse.

Ahh, sweet sarcasm...
As if there isnt something youve complained about in a game.

I for one know for a fact that this is what the want to hear.

And... Im a huge fan of the franchise. I play this game every moment i possibly can.

LOL! You know how many times i thought this in my head... While a frost troll is turning my horse into a punching bag...

Maybe some sort of... Jump to my feet while still on the horse, then a mad leap to the enemy, as we both roll i pull out a dagger and stab the beast between the eyes...

Too much?

Agreed hundredfold. I've been wanting first person for riding, and pretty much everything. I can't believe why they didn't make a first person mode for riding. As a result, I never ride horses in Skyrim :(

@Avenrose, there are random NPCs riding in Skyrim. Couriers at least. Not as frequent as in Oblivion, but still.

I also think the suggestion about a faster dismount or even a sort of lunge animation when enemies are nearby and you aim at them and everything would be truly neat. That would actually a kind of substitute for mounted combat. But I always hoped they'd at least include mounted archery.

They are already there, I've seen hunters on horses, noble man with a guard as a protector, couriers and a certain ghost.
