I'm going to listen a bit to this album

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNe2Sppkk0M&feature=related

Heavy Metal in a bit of NWOBHM style with songs about the wasteland.

But other than that, I'm gonna listen to the In Flames album The Jester Race

Well if i am going with the theme of the game i would say Bobby Darins Mack The Knife about a mob hitman.
Metal, Eluvetie, Heaven Shall Burn, Once Nothing maybe some Deadlock (gotta love Swedish metal).
I love some Beardcore! A Day To Remember and Four Year Strong
Punk, Against Me! The distillers, The Upgrades, Flogging Molly and maybe Fake Problems (although i think they are more alternative than punk)
I really like an acoustic vibe now and again and Cedar Avenue is awesome for that.
Louis Armstrong, Ella fitzgerald (did the original Mack The Knife) and a few other classics to, but i am pretty picky choosey.

Here's a couple of songs by the Texas Toad Lickers. They were used as theme music for a band of rugged vampire hunters from New Mexico, in John Carpenter's "Vampires." Excellent and highly appropriate for the New Vegas setting; especially when you're heading out into the wilderness to cause some mayhem.

like Mumatil said. i wouldn't mind some folk type music. sung by the people in the Mojave wasteland

also what the guy below me said is correct. as much as i like classic rock, and in some cases Metal (depends what you consider Metal) when im playing fallout i enjoy the oldies.

ps. i have to go get stitches. also i just started learning to play guitar

I'll do fine with the games background music, turning on something else kills immersion IMO.

Yeah, there's so many types of metal that you can't really call any one kind the "real" kind of metal, lol. I'm a European power metal/melodic death metal fan myself.

That Richard Cheese song is fantastic, I love his stuff. His version of Welcome to the Jungle is hysterical.

For those special moments? Nothing beats the gentle melody of shell casings falling on rocky, mojave sand. Or the concrete of the strip. Or a stainless-steel vault floor. Wherever really.

Hmmmmm, well I usually just listen to the soundtrack but if there is no Johnny Cash on there then Ill be listening to him.....and I also find that The Doors go very well with Fallout, so does David Bowie and The Stray Cats. But my favorite thing to listen to during Fallout would have to be Wu Tang Clan, mainly because its so much fun to kill everybody you see while listening to Shame on'a Ni**a, haha.

Oh, and if its night time and I'm running around the strip seeing the sights I'd likely be listening to either Pink Floyd, Iggy and The Stooges, Tool, or Lou Reed. And when (and if) the big battle between the NCR and Ceaser's Leigon starts I'm going to be listening to....BLITZKRIEG BOP!!!!! SHOOT EM' IN THE BACK NOW!!!!! BLITZKRIEG BOP. XD

And this is what I'd be listening to when I get a Vault Boy suit and mask and pick up a knife and decide to kill all the residents of New Vegas......

I like King Diamond and a fair amount of Norweagin Death Metal, but for the most part I hate metal, well, modern metal at least. James Dio, Black Sabbath, Megadeath, thats the kind of metal I like, and I know that some people consider Jimi Hendrix to be the founder of metal, and oh yes, I DESPISE Metallica with all my heart and soul, mainly because its just lyrics, theres nothing behind the music, they just say "Hey dudes, does this not sound totally kick ass!?" and then put it in a song......wich is how most modern music works, all that crap that they play on MTV......

Both for just walking around and shooting people I personally prefer Johnny Cash's - God's gonna cut you down. The words, the rythm and just the general feel just seem perfect for the game even if I'm not religious. Though I will probably love the radio stations in NV just as much as long as none of them are similiar to the Enclave radio. Gods that station just annoyed me so much that I never had it on. GNR is much better even if the songs are really limited.

I would like to put http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doWOdB1d0mg into the rotation, and have my character go crazy and kill everyone in the immediate area whenever it plays.

That song really chaps my ass. OH MY GOD I JUST WANT TO PUNCH AND KICK SOMEONE SO BAD NOW!

I think many of you will love this song. It's a Frank Sinatra type version of Disturbed's "Down With the Sickness." Perfect for evil wastelanders in particular. The last minute is especially great. The song was used in Dawn of the Dead.

Haha. His covers are so amazing.

I will be listening to the soundtrack. Though, I may use a mix off of my iPod later on. Sinatra and other 50's music with a few modern hard rock songs. That's what I did in F3 after a while.

I tried making a video of FO3 Chem Use set to the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o22eIJDtKho, but with all the mods I run FRAPS turned it into a slideshow. I'll maybe try again with my new system and NV.
