Sovngarde! Spoilers! Beware do not open if your still playin

Now that place looks like it's for violent, Nordic heroes. I know they can't make it look exactly like that but they should have made it look similar.

Edit: The only thing that looks Nordic is the hawk heads, but the place is so bright it draws you attention away from them. Sovngarde, at it's heart, should be a brutal place.

Thanks for the pictures... major wallpaper action for me there. It wasn't until I saw the picture of the bridge that I realized it was a whale! And suddenly the matching animals puzzles make more sense!

I always thought it was a dragon but probably never really looked at it.

My Dovakiin was a Dunmer and a follower of Azura. Breathtaking though the place was, it felt a bit iffy for him to be there, since I'm sure he has every intention of going to Azura's Moonshadow realm when he died. Hmm, wasn't that a place in Dragon Quest VIII?

Hircine's Hunting Grounds next! Bloody rivers, a red sky and a crimson sun, savannah, canyons and a large forest! And the sounds of people screaming and wolves howling and bears growling. In my opinion, sounds much more exciting than burping all day in some mead hall.

Idk. I'm having a hard time. Hircine's Hunting Grounds or Sovngarde. Both would be nice places to be in because of my personality and all.

There's no reason on this earth they can't make it look exactly like that. People cut Bethesda too much slack because they don't understand how graphics work, so they assume poor graphics must be the result of engine or graphics limitations.

I don't know how graphics work, so I didn't want to sound like I was demanding too much. But I was still criticizing their decision to not follow that aesthetic.

Sorry, I didn't mean to criticize you. This is what I do for a living and it's annoying when people say, "Oh, they couldn't have made the dragons bigger because they would have had to redo the animations," (not how animations work) or, "Oh, the room couldn't have been on a dramatic scale with good lighting because that would have been too hard on the engine." (Intelligently placed lighting is no harder on the engine than stupidly placed lighting, and many many games make use of majestic scale.)

I agree. Sovngarde was absolutely beautiful. I spent so much time there as well, just taking in the scenery. I really hope that DLC is released that allows you to revisit Sovngarde or complete another quest there.

Sovngarde should be real!

It's called heaven, if you're a holy man.

So I can get into drunken brawls in heaven? That's one I haven't heard before. I was expecting less vikings and more harps.

I expect "heaven" by any name is a pretty individualized place.

You should automatically go there when you die, until you decide to re-load.

It would make sense, and would in a sense only be an option.

But what if your character doesn't follow the Nord pantheon?

Yeah. My characters aren't too enamored by the thought of Sovngarde.

Heaven should be your dream place. The place you want to be in and forever be in. If you want Sovngarde to be your 'heaven' then maybe it will! Though, everybody else in your 'heaven' will be pretty much like robots...

I suppose, but it'd make sense that if your character is the Dovahkiin he/she deserves a place there.

I also forgot to mention that this could only be activated as a feature after completion of the main quest.

Forget going to Sovngarde. I'd rather go to the Soul Cairn or to Mehrunes Dagon's Deadlands.
