*SPOILER* How is realistic facial surgery going to be justif

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 1:42 am

To be honest, i will only use it to "Make my character look like he has aged and seen combat"

My main character is a 21 year old Nord, just signed up with the Empire. He has aged as its been 5 years in game, but has nothing to show for it. I want some warscars, maybe he has stubble growing, and maybe put some warpaint on him, to give him that threatening look. Also his hair is no longer short as he is not part of the Empire anymore, and can grow his hair out now.

You can only change your face with the shady guy in the Ratway. Not gender or race.
Well even though I still think it is a bit silly at least those are locked.... maybe adding scars would be justifiable, after a major fight you may want to for role playing prposes add a scar to your character.

I can see also how they could with magic make it sound plausible but... well you know what I won't be using it to change my face so I guess I can deal with it

Really, you have spent 5 years game time with your character. On my main char, I have only spent 330-ish in game days (its been a while since I have checked)

it's probably magical - some form of shapeshifting.

from Battlespire(funny thing...from Soul Cairn chapter, ekhem)
(...)"That's generous of you, but this Angada has a special Transmorph spell, so he could look like anyone. Angada was posing as Lomegan Mariel, the Emperor's Personal Liaison to the Battlespire, when the Daedra took the place, but he -- Or she -- Could look like anyone by now."(...)

With that awesome possibilities, it would, even it SHOULD be allowed to change gender/race not only your face features. Also i see it blatantly obvious that thieves would use such feature in their not-so-legal actions(see: The Minority Report)

@The Unconnected One - I'm not a loony lore nerd(Sheogorath, protect me!):D I was just casually checking some lore on Soul Cairn and spotted that little tidbit. If I recal correctly they(B.guys) said: face only! but that lore would allow also gender and race change:D

Realistic or not, I welcome this. I'm so annoyed that you aren't given a second chance to alter your character's appearance in the tutorial, only to find your avatar to be nothing like how wanted him/her to be. You have to play through the whole Helgen instance all over again. It's aggravating.

Just wear a helmet or hood if you don't like your character's face. Hoods are 100% more badass anyways lol.

Solution to any lore that doesn't otherwise make sense: Magic.

Sometimes a really useful feature needs to be in a game to make it a better game. It doesn't have to be explained, or justified, or realistic. Like inventory where you can carry raw meat for days and days and it never rots. Not one NPC in Skyrim knows or cares what your character actually looks like, you are just a bunch of ones and zeroes to them. Anyone who doesn't think changing their appearance fits with their playstyle should simply refrain from changing it. Some of us would prefer to have the option of fixing something which bothers us without starting a new game.

Just sounds stupid as hell tbh. Hopefully it's just facepaint etc.
You don't like anything new, do you?

I don't care how realistic it is.
I'll finally be able to make my characters age, give them warpaint before big fights, and scars after said fights.
