Spongebob A Danger

Oh, you Americans and your "news".

Yes, we are 'fortunate' enough to have the Daily Mail telling us what is bad for our children. :whistling:

Parent nowaday tend to blame every media in existence but themselves......

Shame, glad that my parents aren that kind of fathers

It's not just nowadays, it's always happened. TV/Video games are just the new Rock Music, Comic Books, Swing, Jazz, Witchcraft, Cave Paintings, and whatever came before that.

Fox News: We're like The Onion, but we're serious.

You can't be serious.

I watched much more demented shows than Spongebob (and I watched Spongebob) even through my high school years. I had an A average when I graduated and went on to college. I don't think Spongebob hurt me in anyway.

On a side note: When can we stop assume every child is perfectly capable of everything until they come into contact with an evil song/show/toy/game/thing? Why must we always blame it on something/someone else? I know they're only kids, but it's never too young to start accepting responsibility for your actions.

Yep. We have a responsibility to raise our children so they grow up to be decent advlts, but there's a line. They are not just potential advlts, they are actually children. And maybe Fox should air this : Breaking News! Children actually enjoy watching cartoons. I'm gonna have to quote Frank Zappa, "Whatever happened to all the fun in the world?" Apparently it should be replaced with 'getting high scores in attention based tasks'. Nah.

How about this one: "Breaking news! Young kids have trouble focusing on tasks that don't interest them! Who'd have thought?" /sarcasm

I'm just waiting for the experiment that proves nonconstructive tasks like video games negatively affect performance in school compared to constructive tasks like homework and studying.

Glad to see you feel that way i'm really ticked at all of these parents that don't have a brain cell to decide how to raise their kids anymore. They seem to go into one of two groups as of late being Religious followers of books or parents that don't give a [censored]. Ones that anger me the most are the ones that don't give a [censored] and when their kid does something bad they demand compensation saying the world "screwed up" their kid. Listen moron you caused your kid to be screwed up by not watching them and participating in their lives.

My father is in the "Just doesn't give a [censored]" party. Sorta. When I screwed up he didn't blame the world, he said is was my fault for doing something moronic. The world didn't do it, it's my own damn fault for doing something dumb.

He cares, it's just I think he believes that you should take responsibility for your own actions. To a point, at least. Some things obviously aren't my fault, so I don't get the blame.

But yeah, anyway, on-topic: I agree with the rest, how is a kid going to be able to concentrate right after watching a cartoon?

TONIGHT ON FOX NEWZ

A new study shows that eating cereal may cause kids to beat up their classmates! "9 out of 10 kids who display violent behaviour eat cereal in the morning." says Dr. Knowital, who once wrote a blog on the internet.

I was talking about the anti salt ordinance in new york city, where it makes it illegal to server salt in a restaurant (to be honest I don't remember if it went through or not but it was being pushed for heavily and the majority of the people were for the bill because they felt they were "helping" other people by not allowing the to eat unhealthy food)

Spongebob:There must be something to this selling game that we’re just not getting. Other people do it, I mean look at that! [points to a giant billboard]
Patrick: "Fox News: Fair and Balanced".
SpongeBob: They are most certainly not fair and balanced.
Patrick: Not the way I watch them.
SpongeBob: Yet they get millions of viewers a day.
Patrick: Well, maybe if they didn’t stretch the truth, they wouldn’t sell as many.
SpongeBob: That’s it, Patrick. We’ve got to stretch the truth!

^ Brilliant

Literally, Spongebob was the best cartoon on when I was a wee-er lad. Laced with sixual innuendo, an entire episode that tackled the issue of gay adoption, references to Prison [censored] and strip clubs. What's not to like?

Well, from Fox's right-wing wholesome Christian nation perspective, I can think of a few things :whistling:

"Let's have another!"

Too bad Spongebob is crap today. It sort of went to crap after the movie, and then just got worse from there. Barring a few gems like http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/hprofile-ak-ash2/41814_56501311899_7493_n.jpg, its pretty much crap now, because the original maker of the series left a long time ago (pretty much right after the movie).

CHOCOLATE!!!!
