Staff Crafting- Who Wants it?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 1:32 pm

My staff would be wood, with reinforced with silver and it would have Daedra hearts in it and the Orb at the end would be a flawless diamond with a bright glow entwined around ebony to hold it on.
It would be a staff of Alteration. It's spell would be the equivalent of FUS RO DAH.
If I could have that...
super telekinesis crystal staff! and each time you cast it it lets off a tiny fusrodah of its own!

This can be easily added via the Creation kit. In fact I believe there are already several mods out there for it.
I'm on an Xbox 360

That is the one and the staves I was talking about. Seeing how I gave no specifics on what staves could be produced, but thank you for stating what is clearly noted in detail at the USEP.

There are 44 different standard staves allegedly in vanilla Skyrim. Your proffered solution entails guaranteed production of .. three of those. 3 / 44.

Do you see why when several posters say,

"we want staff crafting [of all types],"

and you say,

"well you can, at the special forge,"

one obvious implication is that you're saying you can craft 44 / 44 staves at this forge, and therefore the original complaint is essentially moot, a problem already solved by the existing game content? Or are you suggesting that your pointing out one can obtain [unspecified number] types is a sufficiently relevant reply, given the OP?

staff crafting should have been in vanilla skyrim, just like spell making. No two ways about it.

Wouldn't hurt to be able to have more places to craft one.

I didn't see anybody mention this, so I'll do it: If you play on PC, there are mods that allow you to make your own staff. Some even allow you to craft an unenchanted staff and then enchant it normally.

Yes we totally need this feature as well as a destruction damage enchantment (which will amplify the staves damage as well).

That's the thing I meant, making an unenchanted one, but people already mentioned this, and I already said (along with several others) that I don't play on a PC, and a lot of others don't either.

On a less interesting note, this is my 200th post.

thats great (no sarcasm), but beth should really start adding necessities into vanilla skyrim instead of having modders mod everything, considering console players can't get mods.

I'd rather have arrow crafting, honestly.

How necessary is arrow crafting, really? Saving up for a short time and pick pocketing is an easy workaround, which staff crafting obviously doesn't have.

On another note, wouldn't it also be cool to have a staff like Loki's? With the spear at the end? Could be cool of they decided to include both spears AND staffs

I can go into a mine, mine ore, turn it into ingots, then make a sword out of that.

I should be able to

1. Get and ax

2. Find a tree in the vast wilderness of Skyrim

3. Chop it up

4. Enchant the wood with a spell of my choosing

5. Make it pretty with Rubies, Sapphires, Emeralds and soul gems.......

Sounds plausible if you ask me.

Staff Crafting + Spell Creation for a $10 DLC. I'll pay. Twice.

Granted, I'm having fun running Shield/Skull of Corruption, I'd definitely pay 9 out of those $10 just for Spell Creation -.-
