Y u no stop Faendal?!

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 2:15 am

So upon getting my Amulet of Mara I knew exactly who I would marry, Camilla Valerius, from the Riverwood Trader. After helping her retake the Golden Claw how could she not love me? We then got happily married. or so I think. Every time I return from a long adventure, I return home to see Faendal (the elf that has been chasing her for marriage in the past) leaving my house in Whiterun!!! Camilla should hate him after I sent that poopy fake letter to her from him!!! I get so furious I just wanna save my game (of course) and then punch her in the face with my fists of steel! Or at least kill Faendal if I could get away with it. (I'm not a wife beater I swear!)

Him and his pointy ears smell of treachery! Has anyone had this scoundrel invading your house for your woman!?

I saw this thread a while back with someone saying that they married this female you're talking about and finding the elf you're talking about leaving the player's house just as he/she got there. Yeah, she's a cheater. Punch her!!

By the way, if you want this certain person dead, you can always come to me. I will need all your septims though.

Are you sure she didn't cheat on you because you are a lying manipulative person with the vocabulary of a 5 year old?

An Imperial demanded I do it, and Imperials are much higher up in the racial hierarchy than Wood Elves, so it would be insulting if I had not made her stray from Faendal. (Yeah, let's see 5-year-olds use the word "hierarchy".)

I've murdered Faendal before for this exact scenario. It wasn't articulate, I didn't plan it out, I just cut him down on the spot, which happened to be in my home.

Camilla didn't like it, at all. So I left and returned a day later and everything was k.

His body doesn't go away though, so if you are going to get rid of him, do it somewhere other than your house.

I cast fury on Faendal and they gave me 40 bounty! Then he attacks me and Eola kills him then they give me 1000 bounty! Even in death Faendal is a pain!
My cousin's out there fighting dragons and what do I get? Jail time.

It's a well-known glitch, sadly. There are a couple of Marryable characters who suffer similar issues. Take Mjoll the Lioness for example. You may marry her, but she comes with a certain... hanger on. :)

You can of course kill them. Just be careful not let your spouse see you do it. Or anybody else who can run to the guards.

Funnily enough, this very scenario happened to none other than Todd Howard when he was playing pre-release, came home from a hard day's dragon-slaying to see another guy leaving his bedroom.

Maybe they were just making crafts together while you were out adventuring.
Riverwood is pretty boring.

Kill it with Dark brotherhood style. Wait for 2am, lockpick his house, sneak in, stab him while he sleep.

There was a woodcutter in Morthal (i think) that said all the time "i can't believe stranger like you can wander around freely", my orsimer didn't liked that, he said it one too much time.

I followed him where he work (the sawmill), i did hide in a nearby and distante bush, used my most lethal poison on a arrow, and oneshotted him on a well planned kill. No bounty, no repercussion.

If Fendal can be made into a follower, there's always the option of sacrificing him to a certain Daedra Lord. Otherwise it may be difficult to organize an "accident" that involves him and him only. The surroundings of Riverwood are devoid of dangerous beasts to kite to him and there's always the risk of one innocent ending up dead in his place. You can try Kiting a few bandits from Helgen

On PC you can wait till he goes back to his home and 'conjure' a troll via console while he's in he house. Nobody will hold you responsible for this.

Sadly, unlike Oblivion, there are no poisonous apples to pickpocket into other people's inventory

PS: of course stealth killing him in his house always works, but I'm trying to find creative methods which the game doesn't recognize as murder (counter goes up).

If you doesnt care anything about MURDER number at your status, kill him with cold blood like me...

i kill faendal at whiterun in front of the Jarl

yeah i did... i slashed him, and cut her head, then i talked to the guard and said "I'm THE THANE"

done... no bounty at all

If you care about your murder number

do with my second style..

Have a follower (suggest: Sneak type)

then, go to faendal house, at mid night.

then... Sneak, and ask your follower to kill him

you follower kill him, and you dont gain your murder number

I HATE that kid. There are a couple people in Skyrim that make my blood boil. Hazeem (I think is his name? Do you get to the cloud district guy) is another. I saved my game and tried killing the kid. That's when I learned Skyrim doesn't allow you to kill the kid and EVERYONE attacks you :/
