I suddenly feel less guilty about a certain assassination...

There's a loose gargoyle above her head when she gives her speech on the balcony. Babette tells you about it.

That reminds me of a quest in either Morrowind or Oblivion, where you have to sneak into a guys house, get into a ventilation duct just above a fire place and drop a mosses head on your mark when he comes home and sits down to read lol

Hmm, when turning down DB membership by killing Astrid is it normal for her to gasp "good work" as her dying words? Seemed a bit strange to me. I know this is a little offtopic, but I thought those here might know.

Yes, she's impressed that you managed to kill her.

I'd like to quote a book I've recently read.

Life is empty. Life is meaningless. When we take a life, we aren't taking anything of value. Wetboys are killers. That's all we do. That's all we are. There are no poets in the bitter business.

I've got a contract to fulfill, and I don't get paid unless I leave corpses.

I don't feel any guilt for anyone I've assassinated. Sorry, it's just business and I love my work. I intentionally started [censored] when I killed Miss Vici, killed 8 guards on my way out of town. Killed her husband too. Would have killed everyone at the party if I could have found them all.

The bard? OMG! But no, he did not deserve to die. A hit is a hit, just business. However I ended having to pay the fine later on which was very annoying. Also, was a bit cheesed off with Astrid for handing me that immoral contract. Yet, Astrid wants everyone killed if it nets her some gold. Astrid deserves to die horribly to rid Skyrim of a very bad person.

Miss Vici? My assassin used the provided archery items.
Spoiler
Had to repeat that murder at least six times before I was successful at avoiding the guards. Almost the split second you loose your projectile at Vici, open the map and Fast Travel anywhere. Leave it a millisecond too long, and your map tells you Fast Travel isn't available while enemies are nearby.

She isn't a target. She means that it's a shame that she is hot since it means she can't be married unless you kill Nilsine.
No, she's a customer.
OK, I can manage that.

She did when I killed her.

I'm pretty sure Wilhelm the innkeeper at the Vilemyr inn put the hit on Narfi. If you show him Reyda's Necklace, he does this mocking impersonation of Narfi which makes me suspect him of being the culprit.

That orc bard you kill isn't even the worst bard in skyrim, he sings much better than Talsgar the wanderer
which is why i sent wilhelm to the void by using console set essential 0 command and temba widearm hanging from a tree in high hrothgar. Justice!!!!!!

If somebody wants somebody else dead so badly that they perform a taboo ritual, you know that the target isn't innocent.

That's a fairly ridiculous statement. History is rather full of examples of people who were killed, even assassinated, who didn't do anything to deserve it.

All such a ritual means is that the target is disliked by the buyer (which could be for quite insane reasons) or the target is simply extremely inconvenient to them. It doesn't tell you anything more than that.

Everything, everyone is but a collateral in the face of gold coins. I always find some "reasons" to justify the kills. Dark Brotherhoods are professionals!

I went inside the chapel and waited for a bit, then snuck out through the side entrance of the city. Thankfully Veezara showed up inside the Chapel so he couldn't [censored] me over.

And the only contract I felt bad for completing was the Argonian scavenger Deekus. Mostly because I play an Argonian, and I did something rare and talked to him first, which his response didn't help me feel better.

"I'm sorry egg brother, but your time has come."

"No! I did nothing to wrong you, please! Spare me!"

....GDI attack me or something you bastard, don't make me kill you like this /flail!

This is exactly what I did. I have never accrued a bounty for all the theft and murder I've done in the game. The one and only exception being the betrayal to the guard captain whose son you killed, and that was scripted capture that failed to vanish with the death of the three guards on the bridge. I was fairly upset at having to accept the blight on my perfect record because the game was designed with no way to not get it.

That brings up an interesting point not directly related, but how do you see your current bounty? I always knew I had no bounty when I would check after any action that was potentially risky and see lifetime and largest bounty still zero. But with them both 1500, if any action generated a lesser bounty, I would assume the largest is just that, the largest you've had at one time, and the same for the lifetime. I haven't found anything labeled "current bounty" like in Oblivion. I used the option of being in thieves guild with a guard (had to stand up and approach them since I was making it out of town unseen but wanted it gone to conduct future business in that hold) to pay half price. But I now fear from the dialog they give that it is treated more like a "I'll just let you go" option with a particular guard and that the original bounty is still known about officially. Is there any way to find your present bounty?

General Stats>Crime. Should be at the top and has bounties for each hold.

I find it amusing that I can pay off the guards after the Emperor's assassination.

Corruption or he was just THAT disliked?

Well consider who set up the contract

"STOP IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR!"

"Okay, guys, Thieves Guild member. How much to fix this?"

"Fix...killing the Emperor?"

"Yeah."

"....seven hundred and fifty gold?"

"Sure. Why not."

"Hello, citizen! Welcome to Solitude."

LOL yes, it is that easy. Maybe the contracter had ties with the guards as well?

I find it more fun to stalk my targets though you can't really do that with Mede. I find it hilarious that he pretty much accepts his fate to die by you, even telling his commander that you "can't stop the Dark Brotherhood".

To be fair, he's a man in his seventies who watched you just slaughter his crew of Secret Service and sailors.

Agreed. But it's almost like he expected you to do so, no matter what he threw at you. Rather accepting of his fate, as a man in his position. I actually respected the way he handled himself. No pleading or trying to bribe. One small request, that had nothing to do with his own demise.

funny, i dropped the rock on vici's head. and when i walked into the courtyard ALL the guest's and penetes oculatis ( or whatever you spell it like eh ) started attacking me.

I just sat there as my stormcloak bretheren massacred all of the guests while my khajiit was doing moonsugar, watching.
