I suddenly feel less guilty about a certain assassination...

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 1:00 am

By which I mean Miss Vici, the Emperor's cousin.

Yes, I killed her during her wedding day by dropping a rock on her head.

Yes, I did so after she welcomed me at her wedding.

Yes, I did so after she nicely let the lady with spiced wine get her herbs duty free.

But, man, check out her house.

There is a [censored] ton of poison in that place.

Cups, Cups, Lavender, Frostbite Venom, Weak Poison against Stamina, Sabercat pelt, Frostbite Venom, Frostbite Venom, Frostbite Venom, Cup, Cup, Plate, Elder Cheese Wheel, Frostbite Venom.

Now add the exceptionally large number of pirates operating out of her port (one with a Thane's blessing) and we're starting to get a picture of a very different woman than the one I thought.

It just goes to show you that John Cussack's character was right, nine times out of ten the guy did something to get an assassin after him.

You exhibit a certain moral flexibility. :D Love that movie and I truly believe that no professional hit man has ever killed anyone who was truly innocent.

Not to mention her house also has a crap load of loot, and it's right next to Proudspire Manor, so it's like having two houses.

You have to kill innocents as part of the DB.

For example, the Gourmet and the Markath cook.

However, you could argue that's just part of the "dirty business" nature of Black Ops. If you're Stormcloak allied or simply think Titus Mede II is the worst thing to happen to the empire since Melrunes Dagon then killing them is just collateral damage to take down a high profile target.

All for the "greater good."

Other DB targets like Narfi, the mine owner, and the Worst Bard in Skyrim are actually just innocent innocent.

There's a loose gargoyle above her head when she gives her speech on the balcony. Babette tells you about it.

Her house is better than mine and she wasn't even a Thane. That was good enough reason to kill her.

Hopefully you get to keep the house after the quest is done.

Yeah, I thought this was a stupid quest. A contract to kill a bard purely because he svcks.
I mean I have no problem killing people in Skyrim (especially for a reward) but I think they could've done much better. Which is why TESIV DB > TESV DB.

I'm pretty sure Wilhelm the innkeeper at the Vilemyr inn put the hit on Narfi. If you show him Reyda's Necklace, he does this mocking impersonation of Narfi which makes me suspect him of being the culprit.

That orc bard you kill isn't even the worst bard in skyrim, he sings much better than Talsgar the wanderer

Oh, I can think of a few chefs, business owners and musicians on reality shows that I wouldn't cry over if someone killed them.

Ha. I killed her AND her husband. No guilt here. Couldn't figure out how to do it without a crazy bounty (tried arrows from a distance from various spots) and I eventually just popped up on the balcony when she starts speaking to the crowd. Killed her, husband saw me. Killed him, bounty cleared due to eliminating all witnesses. Guards showed up on the balcony, but didn't come after me. Veezara shows up and starts some [censored]. I walk off clean.

Felt pretty awesome to be honest.

It went like this for me.

*drops rock* from third story above balcony.

Argonian Shadowscale: OH MAN! I'VE GOT YOUR BACK! IT'S GOING TO BE AN EPIC FIGHT!

*walks out calmly as no guards attack*

I still feel like an ass for killing the beggar/bard, but most of all for the contract where I had to kill the Shatter-shield daughter. The mother committed suicide because her other daughter was murdered int he blood on the ice quest, so now the father lost both daughters AND his wife. Oh, and I stole from that guy for the Thieves Guild.

That's why I never did Assassin contracts outside of what was required to advance the main plot. Pays little and leaves you with a conscious.

Yeah, it's the difference between a wet-works operative (who happens to work for the God of Murder) and a psycho.

A pity because Muiri is so cute.

When i found I had to kill the emperor, I deleted all my saves and started over, He was just too Badass to kill, Im mean seriously how could someone greet there killer with open arms, Call him friend, Not beg for mercy, And ask his killer to kill the person that gave his contract to his killer!

And the DB Questline was one of the most dark questlines in All TES Games.

She isn't a target. She means that it's a shame that she is hot since it means she can't be married unless you kill Nilsine.

I proudly assassinated the illegitmate Emperor. And I captured his soul and used it to enchant my Daedric sword, Emperorbane.

You know I was going to start on the MQ a bit more a couple nights ago, but then realized what a little sh** Sonja has turned into, and decided to finish the DB quest line, and do all the other bad stuff she can possibly do before moving ahead with the MQ & Civil War. Why? I figure then she can be seeking redemption. At the point when the Blades quest line hits
Spoiler
And she's given that quest to kill Parawhateverhisnameis, she can rationalize not doing it because the two are not that much different and can tell Delphine to go to heck.

So yes, I'm looking forward to assassinating the emperor. I let Cicero live. I told him the cure for his madness is me, hit him with a "heal other", and left. Cicero is mad, true, but Astrid just doesn't understand that I am her boss. I am the Listener.

Amusingly, my reaction to the Nightmother talking to me after the quest was, "Yeah, [censored] you, Lady. I'm out of here."

Hmm, when turning down DB membership by killing Astrid is it normal for her to gasp "good work" as her dying words? Seemed a bit strange to me. I know this is a little offtopic, but I thought those here might know.
