It takes 10000 hours....

...to become really talented, in everything form playing guitar to paint paintings. So, would you consider NOT playing Skyrim, and invest all that time into becoming incredibly skilled at something useful?

I'm learning guitar at the moment so when i'm unable to play skyrim ill practice a bit for my band but most of the time ill be refining my knowledge of modding

But once I get my computer there will be only time for skyrim and a bit of modding

Playing guitar requires practice, so any hobbies managed unwisely (not only gaming) can hinder it's progress.

While gaming and visual art come in harmony, elements in gaming often trigger inspirations to it.

It's not about the amount of time but how you use it.

But those people who do become great artists and musicians don't spend their lives doing only that. Everyone has varied lives, be that a balance of working, maintaining various relationships, rearing children, reading books, exercising, watching films etc.
If you're asking if I would stop anything I find gives me entertainment or pleasure in order to better myself, then no. Because you need down time.
There's also the argument that all art is useless, so becoming a great artist or musician isn't really a brilliant way to spend your time as opposed to becoming a doctor or scientist. After all, if all you're doing is creating music or art, then your work is only stopping those who enjoy it from investing 1000 hours into something useful too.

if you don't mind, since we are all gonna end up rotten corpses one day and in a 100 years no one will remember who we were and that we even lived at all, I'm gonna go ahead and live my life however the hell I like, having as much fun and pleasure as I can possibly can, and I will try to leave this world a better place (as much as I can)

and yes 10000 hours playing skyrim sound too few tbh

and btw I already know how to paint/draw :D

I'm already quite good at what I do for a living, I own several guitars and other instruments, and I do paint in my free time. I think I've earned a little time with Skyrim. Video games are great for inspiration as well.

As I lack any kind of talent towards arts (music, painting etc.), I think I'll stick with Skyrim.

Art serves to stroke your ego though.
