[REL] TESV Acceleration Layer, Thread 3

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 9:51 pm

Havent played Skyrim in a couple days and all I have is the version 1 of this that's "broken". Do I just need to re-download TESVAL then and drop it in my plugins folder?
Just extract into your Skyrim folder. Make sure you delete the old version as well. I know that last part sounds obvious, but it's worth mentioning

Do I need to grab a new version of SKSE or anything?

I think you need the latest version. There's a link to it in the SKSE thread.

Well just wanted to reply with my thanks to the work on this mod, because it makes a nice difference!

I sure hope bethesda takes a good look into this and works to incorporate it into future patches/updates.

Not sure how far things have progressed since yesterday when there was a "BandAid fix" test release. Using the offical file prior to the band-aid the golden claw would not open the door in Bleak Falls Barrow. The Band-Aid fixed it. Just in case someone wanted to know about an area that hadn't been discussed previously.

You couldn't move the rings priviously.

The only changes since SilverDragon's fix are the one GreatWalrus used based on Arisu's advice and the one added after that by ianpatt to keep compatibility with SKSE. You can download the latest version at the SKSE site or Nexus.

I've encountered that "can't move the rings" bug before. It has nothing to do with this plugin as I ran into it several days ago, long before this existed.

Thanks Arthmoor. I wasn't sure about it. Just finished a 250+ hour play through and started a new character last night and "NOW" using SKSE which I wasn't before.

Im running Athlon 64 6000+ 3.1 Ghz dual core and all incremental versions that have fixed game issues always maintain the FPS increase although in this thread the latest update by BTcentral (well an update that was posted) :

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1322545-rel-tesv-acceleration-layer-thread-3/page__view__findpost__p__19888544

Actually puts fps back to same as vanilla in all the places I get low fps, it in fact does nothing to increase, yet the Greatwalrus post:

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1322545-rel-tesv-acceleration-layer-thread-3/page__st__90__p__19886894#entry19886894

Works flawless with more FPS (simply loading at a low fps map location and switching those two dll's and loading proves this for me) ... so, can anyone confirm which version I should be using as the latest and is the one bringing no FPS post increase (BTcentral's post) a problem?

Sorry there have been so many edits now that im unsure what's what.

Use what is Skyrim Nexus, that is the official version.

I did get a request from http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/user/3115688-diiamondx/ to add it to his profile at:

http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4463

He did link back to our Nexus upload and was very careful with the credits.

I'm impressed at the efforts he took to make sure everyone got proper credit.

Yeah, thats why i'm not sure. Just havent seen that before - justicars on a road without prisoner. Hell, who knows. If anybody can report that they've seen them without prisoner in vanilla, then its working as it should.

I've seen it a couple of times. Once on the road near Whiterun telling me to back off if I know what's good for me. One time they were outside of Whiterun lollygagging in the wilderness. Other time they were near the same area, but after me. :stare: I haven't even installed this mod yet.

Yeah, the Justicars seem to be escorting only imaginary prisoners. Maybe they've been chewing too much vampire dust. In fact I dont believe I've ever encountered any that actually had any prisoners with them. It's definately not related too this dll.

I also seem to get better performance with Walrus' dll from last night, as opposed too the newest one from the Nexus. Dunno if it is just imaginary or not though. If it is for real, it is no more than a couple of fps, but the game seems to stutter a bit more.

This does not appear to have been reported on the bug tracker. If anyone is interested in reporting it, the tracker is here:

I saw Thalmor without a prisoner numerous times before installing a single mod. I believe its part of the original game.

Ok. If it isn't a bug it shouldn't be reported. I haven't seen much with the Thalmor so I did not know whether it was a bug or not.

In order to fix compatibility issues (like win8 etc) i want rewrite the fix to cpp and replace additional code bottlenecks . I'm not sure that i shud do it without Arisu permissions so im waiting for his answer .

From this quote: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1322063-rel-tesv-acceleration-layer-thread-no-2/page__view__findpost__p__19875884
Though I can't speak for ianpatt, as far as it concerns me, anyone may upload/host it anywhere and generally do anything with it.
Yes, consider anything I added under that license as well.
I would say you at least have license to upload testing versions here on the forums with the caveat they cannot be uploaded anywhere else, and then, if you so choose, wait for Arisu's approval to allow mass-distribution. Although from Arisu's responses to GreatWalrus with his fix (which was based on Arisu's own revelations) I would say he/she doesn't really mind new versions being put up with fixes and improvements. Of course I would still keep Arisu in the credits.
