Thank You for New Patch!

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 5:56 am

Why you haten? It's not our fault they can't send it for review before release on PC that way everyone gets around the same time.

So because the manufacture of your hardware chooses to review improvement and fixes to software, I who choose to play on another platform must wait for those improvements to be quantified by a company I have nothing to do with?

Whatever your reason for purchasing that platform I am sure they are valid and just but why should PC users be forced to wait because of a decision you made?

PC users actually did have to wait on the first patch, then all of a sudden Bethesda change it around to how it should be. PC gets patches first as said, because Microsoft and Sony vet them, no such thing on the PC platform because no one has control of it.

Alright ladies, let's not turn this into a platform war....

Back on topic, does anyone else find it strange that everyone is so excited for a patch? I mean It's not like TESVI came out today.

What you're really saying is that once the patch is actually done, they should hold on to it for PC users until Sony and MS are done reviewing the patch. Effectively, you're saying Sony should decide when PC users get a patch. That's just plain crazy talk and borderline PC-hating.

no, what I'm saying is send it to sony and microsoft just before the pc release that way I don't have to wait a week, maybe a couple of days.

Well they sent it today, so feasible for it to be available Friday or Saturday.

I am not trying to make it about one platform over another. It just bothers me to hear people complain about Bethesda release schedule when other parties have a controlling say.

It is strange how much exitement a patch is producing, I think it is a good indication of how much people like this game.

The patch wasn't finished until today. They can't send an unfinished patch to MS/Sony.

According to the mod's http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=4387, it does.

I appreciate the fact that Bethesda are supporting their game & supporting their customers, All the top developers do it & it's called customer service.
Us the customers support them & keep them in business & in turn they do their best to look after us.

As for you not having any bugs then lucky you, I had a journal full of broken ones & the performance optimizations were completely lacking upon release.
However, To thank them for this is a bit silly as they are not doing us a favour but doing us a service & thanks should be reserved for the creation kit & not for them maintaining their product & customer loyalty.
My wife never thanks me for paying the mortgage but i may start asking her to;)

It is a great patch performance wise & a magnitude better than on release.

Well the patch maybe fine on vanilla, but it will most likely kill all your saves depending on the mod you have. It did to me. No ig deal as i m not playing it anymore, wating for the tools so peopls can make this game worthwile.

They can't send the patch to Sony or MS until it's actually final, and once the patch is final, there really isn't any reason not to release it on PC as well. They send the patch to Sony and MS as soon as they can, but it simply takes that long for those two companies to send it through the system.

If they were to add a gap between sending the patch to Sony / MS and releasing it for PC then all that does is delay the PC release. PC gamers would then have to wait for something going live on a console, for absolutely no reason. Surely you can see the stupidity in that?

Thanks Bethesda for the new patch! Just reinstalled Skyrim and let the patch install so am all set to rock and roll like an earthquake with a new character tonight. Oddly enough i also picked up the 655 page Skyrim Game Guide today while pre-ordering Kingdoms Of Amalur. While waiting on line some uncouth buffoon was returning his PS3 copy of Skyrim telling me how lowly he thought of it. Of course his lack of taste in fine wine rpgs showed itself in his lack of manners jumping in front of me on line instead of waiting his turn. Guess he didnt notice the mega size Skyrim guide underneath my arm i could have knocked him out with while saying, "Excuuuse me, I do believe am next."

I've noted that at least one glitch has crept in for me with this patch. The ghostblade hanging on the weapon rack in Breezehome has now disappeared...a shame, because I had all pretty coloured weapons in that room, and now I have to go dig up another ethereal blade somewhere. I hate it when glitches ruin my interior decorating...it's just so svcky.

So this patch isn't friendly with the nexus mods? I think I rather not have this patch since I am very well comfortable with the way things are going. I don't need a patch to make conflicts with the mods that I already have installed.

Just played a new game after a fresh quick reinstall and everything is playing great. Made it out of Helgen and explored the wilderness with my Orc character with no glitches and everything running smooth as melted butter about to be poured on hot oven baked muffins with an order of hot cocoa :celebrate: Yummy good patching!

Hail Bethesda! Creators of booklike games which can be played over and over as a book can be read through decades and dare i say centuries.
