Thank You for New Patch!

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 9:08 am

Bethesda,

Thank you for the new patch.

Although I had 60fps everywhere with Skyboost r4 there was still stuttering on loading new areas/grids and I could only play on Ultra with High shadows to avoid dips and more stuttering.

I now have no stuttering on new areas/grids and I can do that with ULTRA shadows as well with the new patch!!! Fantastic! Keep up the good work!

I'm glad it works but, I'm not sure you should be thanking them for fixing the broken thing they sold you.

It was never *broken*

I have had no game breaking bugs or glitches and no CTD's. The only issue I had pre-Skyboost was bad fps in Whiterun (40-45) and stuttering. This was mostly due to the fact that I tried to play on Ultra if I lowered it I would be fine so you are partially right the game was not smooth but no means *broken*.

Now the game is perfect... for me.

Thank you for making us console users wait more like....

Glad to hear you have it over on PC though, how is it? What are the standout fixes?

I've never bought a game that wasn't broken (even slightly).

Yes, i mean how is it.. How is the game now, the patch made a BIG difference, patches, just like games can be overhyped, then don't deliver.

Well on PC the FPS has been massively improved but I cannot say about the quest fixes because I never had any bugs with them in the first place.

This one just seems to have more broken then most. Mine is broken broken.. Just wanting to play it sans a few big bugs. I can over look a lobster crawling out of an NPCs ear if the rest works. ;)

Cannot say about quest bugs, etc, but I can about performance as I posted http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1341237-huge-performance-boost/. It was huge boost in performance for me.

did the patch DL automatically Through Steam or did you have to go to Bethesda site?

The patch is great in terms of the performance boost. I've still encountered a number of broken radiant quests, though. Every single "kill the bandit" quest from Riften was broken for me. So was the skooma trade quest and a "kill the dragon" quest from Dawnstar. Key binding is still broken, menus are still wonky... and no indication that Beth plans to fix these things. I think when the patch hits the consoles it will be labeled "final" and Beth will wash their hands of this game, just like they did with Oblivion.

Aye same here, in my countless hours in game one quest has bugged on me, as for FPS never been any issues on 360, heard PS3 were shafted and the game was near unplayable.

That is not Bethesda's call on when you get the patch. It is a drawback of playing on a console.

Why would you thank Bethesda for releasing the PC version without simple optimisations, which they accidentally forgot? It seems to me they are paying us back for the sales what we gave them on the PC. Release it in a crappy state and if sales are good, fix it up and give use some toe kissing.

Why you haten? It's not our fault they can't send it for review before release on PC that way everyone gets around the same time.

It sounds to me like this patch will be most felt/appreciated by those on PS3 and since they won't get it until it gets distributed then the real reviews are still out.

Thank your console manufacturers...they are the ones who insist on clearing patches etc before release.

I am a console player myself but i agree with your statement i mean weather it's PC or console they don't have the money to do as much as other companies because RPG games are not as popular. With how successful the game was on both PC and console they have much more money to invest in things like DLC and working on Patchs. I believe with the lack of info on the DLC they are working on just means that they are more concerned with making the DLC than talking about it. I believe with the money they have the DLC should be the best yet from their studios can only hope though. I realllllllllllllllly hope that the demand for the DLC doesn't force them to release a DLC that's not all it can be in there minds cause we all know they make some good stuff when they want to.

you call 40-45 bad? i try to keep mine at about 30+ with little to no dips bellow 30. I'm not running the most powerfull computer ever. BUT i am doing pretty well.mostly high settings

What you're really saying is that once the patch is actually done, they should hold on to it for PC users until Sony and MS are done reviewing the patch. Effectively, you're saying Sony should decide when PC users get a patch. That's just plain crazy talk and borderline PC-hating.

Although we on the PC got the patch first, thanks to that exclusive deal with Micro$oft, the console kids with xbox's will get the DLC's before anyone else, so i guess it all evens out in the end... kinda sorta.
