I want this Thread to be the "Face" of Appreciation threads.

If everyone on the Elder Scrolls Forums posted just One "Thank You" each, I'm pretty sure the TES Squad would be happy.

I want to say thanks, not just to Bethesda but to their sibling companies too. Zenimax Online is working on an MMO I actually want to play, Obsidian gave me a game despite it's tragic flaws I couldn't put away for months on end, and Bethesda has given me over two thousand hours of great gaming. Also, dear Ouchbrain, you hate Bethesda, they peed in your coffee, we get it, look at the amount of good, realize it outweighs the bad, and please, just for the sake of decency, stop with the nagging.

:thanks: :tes:
Lets keep this on topic. Its not like brown nosing on the forums would be effective anyways. Selections like this are generally done fairly randomly. Besides that, we don't know how many of these appreciation threads were started by, oh, idk... PS3 or PC users, who can't get access to the beta.

And while people were right in stating Bethesda is a company, a group of individuals made the game. A little bit of praise on their work (not praise for the company, but for the people that keep it floating) is good for everyone's ego. As long as they don't let it go to their heads and develop a god complex (unlikely, given its still just a video game)

Just tried out mounted combat for the first time tonight. I set out to retrieve Sven from riverwood, having parted ways so I could do a quest, and went on horseback expecting to fight a couple of wolves. The game had a treat for me - I got to run rings around an unlucky DB assassin, swinging my battleaxe with glee. I couldn't see my target half the time but didn't need to as I was circling him.

Thanks Bethesda, I've wanted to do that since oblivion. Now give me a lance to use with the horse!! :D

Also, ouchobrain: ever seen those bags under Todd howards eyes when doing near-release interviews? You don't get those from 'minimum effort'.

I didn't even think that the Xbox beta might be a motivation for this thread ...

There's no need for additional thanks. You paid money for a product and it delivered. It should be a mutual relationship between consumer and company as both parties get what they want in the end.

Speaking as one who has played in a band, it meant a lot when someone bought our CD/t-shirt/came to a show, but it meant worlds more when they came up to us and told us how much they loved our music.

All the money in the world won't match the feeling of a whole room of people spontaneously showing appreciation by singing along loud enough to drown out the band.

As artistic types, I'm in no doubt that the devs at Bethesda feel the same.

A valid point, but I'd rather have all the money in the world than a crowd thanking me.

Haha you know what, I'd go for the money too, even though the recollection still makes my skin tingle :D

But I'm glad you see what I meant. I think the thanks are meant for the devs who don't profit quite as directly as the publishers and shareholders do. They deserve it, for sure :)

Dear Bethesda,

I just want Bethesda to know that they make the best games ever, in the entire world.Hell, universe for that matter. Best DLC's mankind will ever see all belong to Bethesda. All the way from Arena to Skyrim, Fallout 1 to Fallout: New Vegas, Honest Hearts to Lonesome Road. Bethesda has changed the way of gaming, RPG's specifically. There will NEVER, and I mean never be any RPG better than the ones made at Bethesda. Todd Howard should be thanked at a Game of the Year or something of the like. He should be crowned the Video-Game King. I love Todd Howard (No homo, ALRIGHT, MAYBE A LITTLE!) because he is an innovative, smart, and amazingly talented man. I have been here for all the Elder Scrolls; Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. They all blew me away to an amazing extent. My favorite game of all is The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. They have us years of great gaming no one else in the world will ever be able to give us. I assume we will have that same experience in the years to come. The games Bethesda have made should have won every Game of the Year Award the year they were made. Everyone here needs to band together and thank Bethesda for the games, and ways of gaming, we would have never had, had Bethesda never existed.
NOTE: Best quote ever- War. War never changes.

I just got goosebumps after reading all of that.

:thanks:

I'd like to offer a belated 'thank you' to Bethesda for Oblivion as well...haha. I had to quit Skyrim for awhile and have been waiting for the newest patch. I was only playing Oblivion to pass the time until that happened. Now that the latest Skyrim patch is out, I can't seem to put Oblivion away. I actually really feel bad for under-appreciating it at the time.

Right now I'm working my way through the Shivering Isles story. Haskill's lines are just killing me...and - Fribble! Just fribble! Cheese for everyone! :tes:

Dear Bethesda,

I just want Bethesda to know that they make the best games ever, in the entire world.Hell, universe for that matter. Best DLC's mankind will ever see all belong to Bethesda. Dawnguard may very well be one of them. Honest Hearts touched me because I was actually born in Zion National Park. I can see where you're coming from and i totally agree with you on everything you're saying but with the amount of these reply's and threads "Mysteriously" popping up now that beta access has been revealed it's really hard to tell which people actually mean it and which ones are begging for code's i guess it's just bad timing.

I'd like to say i'm sorry for my assumption and i hope this thread stay's up for a long time because at the end of the bethesda deserves the praise it gets with the amount of effort they put into games and i have nothing but high hopes for dawnguard.
The real question IMO is do you really think that Beth staffers are trolling these threads for who to give codes to? If so you have to applaud these guys for trying, but I'm inclined to think that your beta code opportunity is based on your application, not your thread participation. They are probably selecting players based on levels and play experience...

To Bethesda: THANK YOU!
