The best Assassins don't spill a drop of blood.

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 11:04 am

True Assassins of the brotherhood don't reveal it was even an Assassination at all. There will be no vengance, no investigation, no suspicion. Poisoning someone in their sleep will make people only assume the old man drifted off in his sleep.

The target remains motionless, unable to speak or cry for help, just silence, as the poison quickly saps him of his life. Nobody will even know he is dead until morning, and he will have died of "natural causes".

And less true assassins of the Dark Brotherhood will kill their employers if they feel the job was too petty. But only after completing it, of course.

Imp Stool as a base, then add Human flesh, if you cant find human flesh you can substitute it for Canis root, the third ingredient can be either Slaughterfish eggs or scales, or orange dartwing. You can use Mora Tapinella but it will have the side effect of "restore magicka", which wont mean much when your target is dead.

How do you do it?

With the pickpocketing perk, to successfully place powerful poisons you need strong pickpocketing. The stronger and more valuable the poisons, the more pickpocket you need to do it successfully.
Also if you want to greatly enhance the effects, administer a 'weakness to poison' poison first and let it take effect, this wont alarm the victim, then apply the lethal dose which amplified results.

Aww, but the dude is cool. Besides, I razed the Dark Brotherhood this time since they just felt like Thalmor Pawns.

true assassins are assassins not pacifists become a predator make the shadows your camouflaging coat your daggers are your fangs and your bow your deadly sting stalk your prey and when they least suspect it take them down and get them out of sight. true my methods arent as inconspicuous as yours but i prefer to let my foes bleed but if an assassination calls for not harming anyone and replacing an old mans medicine with venom then i will.

Also with this poison you can literally kill people in public within full view of guards, just make sure they are sitting down or something, otherwise they will topple over when the paralysis takes effect. Often the victim will die frozen in the way they were when the paralysis took effect, so if they were eating bread, they will still be holding it, raising it to their mouths, but completely still, dead. Like instant rigor mortis. People walk by without even noticing they are dead.

I am currently listening to an audiobook by Brent Weeks. The first book of the Night Angel Trilogy. It is awesome. I envision Skyrim while listening :) I am currently playing a mage character (lvl 41 atm) and am loving every minute of it. I have already been invited to join the dark brotherhood, but I am reluctant to with my mage. I want to do the whole pure assassin or wetboy routine in the Brent Weeks vein. Perfectly suited to Skyrim. I think I will do that on my next playthrough.

Don't you administer the poison with a weapon? That requires a cut.

No, with the pickpocketing perk you can poison people by putting it on them when pickpocketing. Nobody will have any idea what happened. No need to draw any blood.

Oh, nice. Reminds me of pickpocketing explosives on people in Fallout. And it's only 3 perks in the Pickpocket tree... worth considering!

Hmm, I've been wanting to make a character like that for sometime, but I'm not entirely sure how to make the good poisons because they all seem incredibly weak, how does this type of character fair on the master difficulty.

Use basic skills for lower level enemies, and the strong poisons for the bosses if you think you cant kill them with weapons alone. Works out great, but it all depends on how you play your character, and which enemies you tend to fight. If you're going against undead poisons are hard to use unless you make them weak to poisons.
