Well once they hit 1500 members in their IRC they say they will take down cia.gov again. They are at about 1250 now.

Outside of infamy, DDoS'ing CIA.gov isn't really that impressive. It's just a PR site. I doubt it has anything but run-of-the-mill marketing web site security. They might find out about the CIA's https://www.cia.gov/kids-page/games/index.html, though. :P

Very true. People have been saying that the DDoS of CIA.gov was the highest level attack they have done. But all they did was take it down, I found it much more interesting when they got in and got data.

Clearly they just want to keep poking the bear. One hoped that their sudden quiet-down last night was an indication that they were getting smart, but noooo...

I predict the arrival of law enforcement at their respective bases of operation in their future.

It feels like these guys just want to get caught, because the more attention they grab, the more hate they get. Their "Hacking and Trolling for teh lulz" attitude was slightly humourus at first, but the more and more they hack, the more and more I and others get angry with them. Especially after they hacked Bethesda, I was not happy at all. They are gonna have to face the music sometime, or just quit while they are ahead.

They are already behind the 8 ball. Whether they realize it or not, their days are/have been numbered. The problem is that another group will just take their place afterwards.

Lul Sec just released 62,000 WOW, Paypal, and Xbox Live user information. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/06/17/report-lulzsec-releases-xbox-live-info.aspx

To those who have been following what has been going on:

1. This is the same release as yesterday, not a new release

2. It isn't actual WOW/Paypal/XBL account information. Paypal and XBL were not hacked (to the current standing knowledge), but rather it is a bunch of email/password combos that, since many people don't use different passwords, can unlock a lot of different accounts.

They've apparently announced that they're taking the weekend off. I guess it doesn't matter much, but their behavior has been rather strange lately.

Along with that, they apparently have something from the FBI that they aren't talking about.

Ah I love reading th3j35t3r's posts, they are so interesting. I believe this was posted earlier in the thread, but he just updated it. http://th3j35t3r.wordpress.com/2011/06/16/quick-n-dirty-just-for-clarification/?utm_source=Jesters+Court+Blog&utm_medium=twitter

Edit-That member he was talking about in the post on the FPS labs site....it looks as if someone just hacked him. I saw the profile maybe a half hour ago and it was normal, now it says it has been compromised.

It wasn't. If you were paying attention to anything we've talked about in here, you'd see Microsoft has the truth of it.

It's still PR talk.

"That guy" is Casey ‘Nakomis’ Gardiner, who happens to be the voice behind LulzSec. Whether or not Gardiner is a part of the hacking side of LulzSec has yet to be seen, but he is for sure a member of the group, assuming j35t3r is correct.

^ Yep, that sounds about right. That's the side I'm taking.

They keep this up though, they'll be in jail soon enough, and I can't wait until it happens.

I guess, I'm hoping he keeps an eye on them at any rate, but I'm fairly certain he nailed it as far as Nakomis goes.

Yup. Such a their advice to communicate via carrier pigeons. I think they're a-holes, but that doesn't mean I won't laugh at stuff I find funny

I wonder if their mothers would think. Imagine that.
