Changed it so we can just discuss anything Dawnguard, do you think we will actually be able to block the sun out as a Vampire?

I saw an interview where someone said you could contract lycanthrophy again if being a vamp wasn't your style.

On a side note, I swear if the dawnguard are werewolves I'm going to hate Beth. I just want a Pali character archetype and dawnguard is the closest thing to that, if they're just another companions but with crossbows...I'll be upset.

Lol time to go back to lurking...

I want to see if I can play both factions to my advantage, somehow. But as it stands right now? Vampires. I'm already one (I love Necromage), so this is a step up in every way. I just hope I can retain all my spells when I transform.

No. This would kill all life on Nirn, ending the Elder Scrolls series completely. Well maybe you will be able to actually and the lore will just state it was blocked out for a year or something before a force stormed the castle and liberated the Elder Scroll, restoring the sun.

Call me silly - but did I see a cape on Harkon's armor?

I think I just might have to relieve him of that. Yep.

Simply can't wait to actually swap my character's hair, beard, and warpaint on the fly.

Also dying to see what the Dragonbone Sword looks like. Been using an Imperial Sword I've smithed to hell and back forever, now. I need variety!

the elder scrolls games have often had multiple choice endings. including the civil war, and the first few games. if you choose to block out the sun im sure you will be able to un-block it whenever you want, but it won't ever be the actual ending.

What I really don't get is why you don't get an Imperial sword during the Civil War questline, even when you gain your Imperial armor. Also why can't you forge them yourself ??

Way I see it if I get in, then sweet, but if not its only two more weeks and 20 bucks, id be glad to pay just cause its more content and Beth has been giving us free stuff. But on another note I am very excited for the vampire telekinesis power as I love unrelenting force shout, and I feel like this will have a similar appeal and I will once more begin hurling giants off of the mountain side!

I think blocking out the sun will be a shout, or a "once a day" power. Most likely not permanent. We already know it'll happen via the trailer. My concerns are:

1. Will Harkan's animations be improved?
2. Will the Vampire Lord 'a animations be improved?
3. Will Vampire Lords be underpowered, even with the perk tree?

I wonder if the Dawnguard are werewolves, haven't heard anyone say that yet, just a thought. Dawnguard need some kind of secret weapon right?

Thats what i as thinking off when i said one, but i dont remember seeing that in the Skyrim trailers, so i thought there was another one.
All i know is that alot of people were claiming they could see cloaks in the trailers and thought they was in.. and they wasn't

Indeed. I am ashamed to say I contributed to that hype. It all escalated when the concept art was released, and there was that one still of the varying levels of Imperial gear. The last two had cloaks. Lots of folks, including myself - were stupid enough to believe concept art equals the final product, and hyped ourselves. Instead we got underwhelming Imperial armor, and a goofy cape on the Nightingale set. >.<

Got a legal 50 assassin just waiting to feast on the living as a vampire lord and my bounty of 31420 gold helps the evilness.
And I'm power leveling(NOT the other kind of power leveling,I have been questing for a straight week not crafting x amount of daggers and etc.) a khajit to fill the role of dawnguard with the mighty dawnbreaker.

I know this might seem *slightly* off topic, but I wonder if this will make a werewolf/vampire combo doable? I mean, it can be done right now, but it prevents you from feeding. I wonder if I could circumvent that via the bite powers they're adding in...

There is absolutely nothing appealing about joining the Dawnguard.

The DLC is only worth as much time it takes you to get sick of playing a Vampire Lord.

Bad guys always get the cool stuff.

Why can't Dawnguard warriors turn into angels or something?

Is one beta thread popping up every few hours really that annoying? Or do people just like to complain?

In saying that I'd like to see an option to contract lycanthropy again after already curing it considering it's currently permanent.

Yeah, vampires get the option to contract and cure their disease over and over. My main character cured his lycanthropy early on since I wanted to be able to get the well rested bonus.
